Believable4 Unbelievable2

Do you know if Cavani wants the move though ED is the player interested in moving to us? {Ed002's Note - I really don't knoiw what he wants.}

ED002 Regarding Cavani have Napoli lowered the price on the player or have they lowered some of there demands several reports say we are in talks? has anything changed over the past couple of days? {Ed002's Note - Nothing notable has changed. Chelsea are very interested and a chance exists.}

Hi Ed , been seeing quite a bit about our deal for azpilicueta collapsing , do you know what could come of it ? Can you see us givin up on such a talent we have been interested in for quite such time ?
Cheers :) {Ed002's Note - I think a farir chance exists for Azpilicueta ro make a move.}

ED why is it that Chelsea always take so long to conclude a deal? Any other club completes them easy no fuss no bother but we take ages every time! {Ed002's Note - It is done just to piss you off.}

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Phenomenal comment Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more Ed!

To the person who posted that question, I gather you missed the Marin, Hazard and Oscar signings then?! A transfer will take as long as it takes, everyone in the deal needs to be satisfied/happy all is okay....in the case of big name signings I imagine this takes longer than normal.

Steve

Agree0 Disagree1

. classic

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard is a bigger signing then moses and that went straight through, i think it takes longer because of financial reason wages transfer fees etc JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

002 for Prime Minister!

PieZ

Agree0 Disagree0

There are so many aspects than can affect the time of a transfer.. Such as the financial side of things. The player's willingness to move.. The competition for the signatures.. The clubs willingness to part with the player etc etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Much dam faster than liverpool
im a liv fan and im only on chel rumours to see any news on sturridge

Agree0 Disagree0

You can have sturridge, but dunno if he would go to a smaller club

Will chelsea be able to call lukaku on loan if needed due to injured players {Ed018's Note - ive not read anything yet regarding a recall if needed}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

10 Aug 2012 17:26:31
Hey ED, with Oscar being involved in Brazils friendly next week is it likely he will be given some time off after or return to Chelsea training with the rest of the squad straight after? So basically is it plausible he could be in the squad to travel to Wigan? Cheers for the hard work {Ed018's Note - not sure of the plan for him, but some rest might be in order. i would not expect him to be in the squad against Wigan but we will see}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

ED018 Have you heard anything new regarding cavani? {Ed018's Note - not today, have been very busy. i expect this deal to happen though if Napoli can be reasonable. Chelsea need another center forward and with Athletic not wanting to sell Falcao, it seems like this is the deal that'll happen}

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2012 19:13:23
Hopefully the cavani deal is wrapped up soon as lukaku is now away on loan

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Looking that way, Sturridge, Torres and Cavani will be main 3 strikers used, id prefer we dropped the defensive midfield role and play an attacking 4-4-2 formation, Torres and Cavani could be a great partnership.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not going to happen
You take away what the players we brought in do

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you get that then? The system Chelsea have been using pre-season shows that the defensive midfield role is a failure, it slows down fast counter attacking football. Marin, Hazard and Oscar are attacking players that rely on fast moving attacks, no slow passing make a yard per pass sort of game, if we play like that we wont get far and its the likes of Torres that suffers because by the time the ball gets to him he is already marked out of the attack.

Lukaku goes on loan to West Brom till the end of the season. Job well done definately gone to a team where he will get a lot of first team action.

RD11

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Isn't Shane Long the man there?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can only be good for the lad
Sure Steve Clark will give him the games he needs
Good for him & good for Chelsea
Drebs

Agree0 Disagree0

Debatable with Long and Odemwingie fighting with him for one striker spot.

Agree0 Disagree0

The goals dried up for Long in the second half of last season so they need another out and out centre-forward and I imagine there will be healthy competition between those 2 strikers

Agree0 Disagree0

Think clarke was looking for a big guy for one of those two to play off, so will be good for him to get experience in that kind of role

Agree0 Disagree0

Odemwingie isn't happy there, so he might move on. Lukaku certainly gives WBA a different option in attack. Good luck to him & Steve Clarke for the season ahead!

Agree0 Disagree0

He will have to fight for his place as we have 3 other good frowards

The more I think bout the Moses deal the more I think he be a good addition to the team he strong,quick and has good feet and most importantly he is proven in the prem

KevinCFC

Believable6 Unbelievable3

More importantly he's better thn kalou.....( he ain't got a kalou!)

Agree1 Disagree0

O yes sure is!

kevinCFC

Agree0 Disagree0

I would bet he doesnt get the goals Kalou got every season from the bench mostly.

hey Ed any update on Marin's injury? Is it still only a minor knock? I tried the search option and scrolled down about 30 foot before giving up. Ta.

The Guvnor. {Ed002's Note - I have nothing on it aside from being minor.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Yeah it's only minor. No need to risk him on Sunday. I imagine he'll probably be on the bench for the Wigan game

Agree0 Disagree0

Minor hamstring strain apparently,he should be back soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea tv: minor hamstring

Agree0 Disagree0

Only out for Com. shield, should be back at least for Reading game if not before.

The Cavani deal seems to be progressing, with a price of £35millionor so agreed. Apparently there are problems with the wages....

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Problem with wages? We over pay a help of a lot of players! I'm sure he'll be no different

I hope so to.

Where have u seen a fee is agreed?

Firstly and most importantly... Is Ed short for Edward or Edmund?

And now to the football...

If Piazon is being considered for the first team squad this season will this spell the end of Meireles?

Wee Josh to Boro seems like a step too far down and perhaps we Chelsea fans need to forget about the kid for a year or two so he can develop physically...

Lukaku should join Everton imo, Moyes is a proper manager who can help him mature as a player and a man...

Got a terrible feeling the gulf in class from the Chelsea that lost to a Nasri winner last season is still very much there if not greater without the Drog (who admittedly didnt start) {Ed002's Note - There have been enquiries for RM and he will likely leave.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Is it not possible for Chelsea to try and offer Meireles as part of a deal for Cavani? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I assume that Ed is short for Editor?

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed means editor, most forums have a moderator (mod) this one chooses ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Meireles plays quite deep in midfield. Piazon plays up front or anywhere across the front 3 so the future of those two players are unrelated

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2012 14:35:37
Ed now that there appears to be an issue regarding price valuation in the Azpilicueta negotiations do you feel it is a matter that could drag on until the deadline of the market?Thank you in advance. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps. It is not really possible to suggest timings accutately.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

10 Aug 2012 13:01:23
Ed sincerely speaking what is the point of us signing Moses we av so many players competing for that position:the lyks of hazard marin mata ramires oscar and many others.2ndly schsteiner will be too old in our current squad and i dnt see the reason behind his signing may b we go for kyle walker and a top striker lyk cavani Latino {Ed002's Note - Think of him as a replacement for Kalou. Azpilicueta is the target for RB. Cavani remains a target.}

Believable5 Unbelievable2

If Malouda and Benayoun are sold, and Moses comes in, that leaves us with 6 players (Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Ramires, Marin and Moses) competing for the 3 attacking mid positions, which seems perfectly reasonable

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2012 12:38:56
Have Chelsea considered signing owen, he doesnt seem to mind being 2nd choice while at utd, and this could provide time for the younger guys to gain experience, just a thought {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable1 Unbelievable16

Owen is dreadful. End of.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do people ask stupid questions for the sake of something to say?

The Guvnor.

Agree0 Disagree1

He wasn't 2nd choice at united, he was like 5th or 6th

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you Michael Owen?

Ed do u still believe we will have news today on victor Moses?
Cheers :) {Ed002's Note - We will hear when we hear.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

10 Aug 2012 11:42:50
The way that I think we are going to get the best out of players such as Hazard, Oscar and Torres is competition. If we have players that compete with them for their position then they are going to work harder and better. We have done that for the attacking midfield as there is some monumental competition there which is why I think we are going to see Hazard and Oscar work hard. If we get Cavani then there will be more competition for the likes of Torres and because we have him Cavani will try his best as to not lose his starting 11 position.

The more competition the better.

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Totally agree. It worked for Man City last season and our squad depth was terrible last season - evident when we had to play Bertrand in midfield in the CL final, and Malouda in the hole in a number of premier league games!

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2012 11:07:18
not sure if its true or not but have been hearing rumours that Piazon ,Mchearen and Lukaku are all going out on loan but I really dont understand this because i think mchearen is as good as Lamps so i honestly dont see the point in sending him on loan.We have 3 strikers(Sturridge Lukaku Torres ) possibly Cavani if we sign him and Moses could play up front but if we dont sign them and if Torres doesnt start scoring then we need Lukaku because there is also talk about Sturridge leaving so Lukaku could be key to score our goals as at the moment he is the closet thing we have to playing the same way as drogba.Piazon in our freindlys has been scoring and getting assists so he could be key .
Jacob123

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Sorry Jacob
Josh & Lukaku badly needs a season loan to another PL club to prove them selfs
Not yet ready to rely on
Understand Piazon is included in the 25 man squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Josh brings something to our midfield we dont have, better than mikel meirelles

Agree1 Disagree0

McEachran could be as good as Lamps in the future but right now he needs a year of first team football. I'd rather it was at a premier league club but Boro is a possible destination

Lukaku could probably grab us a few goals against smaller teams but like McEachran, he is in need of further development and more game time before he is ready. As for Piazon, he was playing in our under 18s last season, and this season he will likely play in the reserves (or under 21s as it now is) until January then we'll make a decision as to whether we'll loan him out for the second half of he season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry am I missing something here. But where is the evidence that Maceachran is as good as Mikel, Lampard or any other midfielder. Is it because what you are really thinking is you HOPE he is going to be as good (or better) than those players but can't actually be patient enough to wait for it to happen. None of the coaching staff here nor at Swansea appear to share your opinion that Josh is ready for Chelsea's first team.

The Guvnor.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said guv

Agree0 Disagree0

What planet are you on? How can you say Mceachran is better than the Likes of Lampard? He is a million miles away at the moment and probably will never be as good as Mireles of Mikel either. These players have proved that can play not just in the prem but in champions league semis and finals an win.

Any truth in the azpilicueta deal stalking ED? {Ed002's Note - Not stalking as such but there is now an issue over the price.}

Do thy want more ed? Do u reckon it will resolved? {Ed002's Note - They do and hopefully a solution can be found.}

Ed. Much has been said about players going out on loan however lost track on whats happening with others like Moulda
Is it possible please for a quick summary of players likely to be going out ny way of loan/transfer
Cheers {Ed002's Note - Malouda is looking for a new club.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

We're looking to sell Malouda and Benayoun but clubs are put off by both their wages, particularly Malouda who doesn't seem to want to budge much on the 60k a week he's currently on {Ed002's Note - MAlouda is looking for his own club - Chelsea are not going to stand in his way or partake in discussions.}

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^ I know Ed, I never said Chelsea were going to stand in the way, I merely said we were looking to get him off our books, meaning we'll accept any offers for him {Ed018's Note - part of the problem might be Malouda's wage demands}

Lets get after Falcao, because Atletico are now in trouble with Porto for not paying money due for his transfer by the 31st July. Seems like the same situation as Santi Cazorla (Vilarreal to Malaga).
And the Cazorla deal went through pretty quickly.

I hope we pull out all the stops to sign Cavani, Cavani can play wide right as to a complete forward his work ethic is top draw always looking to press the ball from the front. I wouldn't take any notice of his performances at the Olympics as am sure he was going threw the motions and not risking gettin injured. Wot I guys think.

KevinCFC

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Spot on
Thought the deal would have been done by now

Would prefer Falcao if we were going to spend big on a striker.

Falcaos better scores moire goal ang got gd shot power average speed and ok heading

am an everton fan and I was just wondering do yous know anything about lukaku coming to us on a season long loan ? {Ed002's Note - There are several options, including Everton.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Not sure whether Everton would be the best club for him. They generally play with 1 up top and they're gonna base their attack around Jelavic this season. I fear Lukaku would simply be an impact sub with them. I think Sunderland would be the ideal destination for Lukaku on loan, if they fail to sign Fletcher

I have seen reports that Chelsea are now in the pursuit of Lichsteiner because the move for Azpilicuetta is stalled

Believable2 Unbelievable3

This was answered yesterday evening when somebody asked about the Mirror report (that the Azpilicueta deal was stalling). The Ed responded that a deal for Apilicueta is pretty close.

Hey Ed .. out of the two strikers that Chelsea are linked with (Cavani + Hulk) which one are we most likely to get and which one would you yourself prefer

Also is there a chance that we could get Falcao instead ?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Cavani is the first choice.}

Although we've had a slight overhaul, I still believe that it's time for a few more to move on. Namely Malouda and Yossi, would also like to see our promissing youngsters secure good loans. Next season we will lose lamps for sure and possibly Essien, but we have replacements in Jose and Romue. Makes no sense spending stupid money when the talent is there, they just need quality game time to develop. Just my thoughts as a armchair manager.

Dan73

Believable6 Unbelievable2

This is what Roman wants
To build a young and exciting team and I am glad to see the likes of Oscar, Hazard,Marin and maybe Azpilicueta and Cavani coming in.
Romeu is already a top player, Josh needs a season loan to a prem club to get regular football ( unlike Swansea ) and prove himself.
There are still players who need to move on but they can only move if they want to, remember they are earning good money where they are.
Lastly I am not sure Robbie is the right man to build a exciting young squad I think you will see him rely on the old guard like he did last year

Agree0 Disagree0

Romeu needto be sold his buy back clause is ridiculous we arnt barcelonas training club why waste out time in developing a player then can buy bak for 14 mil
