The players wage bill has dropped from £226 million to £153 million.32% reduction. well done BlueCo for having a plan and working hard to achieve it.

Fair play at that, that is impressive. Do you have the source? Have had a bit of a look but cannot find.

Ed002

Am I right in saying that all of the consortium partners cannot sell up for at least another 8 years.

{Ed002's Note - No, it is not as simple as that.}

Thank you ED.

23 Mar 2024 21:30:45
Please Ed could you help with the ownership possible change time. Just for clarity thanks.

{Ed002's Note - There is no planned change of ownership.}

25 Mar 2024 18:25:18
Ed thanks for the response. Some presumed falsehood are rifffed on the media about a possible change of ownership including possible return of roman abrahimovic which sounds absurd to say the least. But with your clarification I think it's just a wild media stunts. Thanks again.

There's stories about rodrygo and Liverpool with mbappe and Vini and game time, bet the fee would be silly but he is brilliant player, linked when Frank was here I think?

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Mar 2024 00:33:49
Imagine it’ll be Vini Jr who might leave and most likely to PSG.

25 Mar 2024 18:35:10
Imo Chelsea need to sign an x factor players. Madrid seems undecided about mbape and I still don't understand why Chelsea are not being considered a serious contender for him considering his age. I also know he will command huge fees in total but Chelsea have always been known as capable to pay huge amounts among big European clubs. I mean it's a reasonable deal to consider.
I still think only additional striker will not resolve the lack of goals and goals from wide areas will help.

21 Mar 2024 15:55:06
I believe the CST have gone too far with their letter and don't get me started on the clown sticker.

Bohely and Co have made a few mistakes but nobody can say we do not have a, squad of talented youngsters which just need tweaking a little.

Personally I would just like an update on the stadium plans but maybe that will be forthcoming shortly.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Mar 2024 20:22:02
Totally agree with you Bill. The CST are a shambles of an outfit and do nothing but cause friction.

21 Mar 2024 21:26:37
Completely agree,
This toxic atmosphere and discontent and pictures of the owners as clowns better not carry over to the game v Burnley. Was bad enough fans in the ground booing raheem.

21 Mar 2024 23:15:38
He was bad though he’d be first one sold for me shouldn’t be keeping mudruk out.

22 Mar 2024 08:02:09
I honestly think the CST should be disbanded as they do not speak for the majority of our supporters.

The CPO are different they are protecting SB however that should be their limit and not involved in the redevelopment of the ground or indeed naming rights.

22 Mar 2024 09:21:06
Bill, I’m not sure how you can say the CST does not speak for the majority of supporters; perhaps they don’t but I don’t know. There is certainly a disconnect between the fans and the club. The redevelopment of the ground and/ or naming rights will ultimately be decided by the club but if the CST is not involved in the consultation process, who should be?

22 Mar 2024 11:25:55
The "disconnect" between the match day fans and the players got a whole lot worse after the booing of Sterling. Those fans were a disgrace and the reaction Malo gave them summed it up.

22 Mar 2024 13:26:06
Jimbo

Why should there be a consultation with the fans relating to the ground or naming rights.

The club is owned by Bohely and co as long as the plan is not a move away where the CPO would get involved then everything else should be decided by the owners.

22 Mar 2024 22:37:37
Bill, I said that those issues are ultimately up to the club but why shouldn’t supporters have the right to give their opinions. The CPO ‘s status in those issues is totally separate.

23 Mar 2024 08:19:50
I agree Jimbo that CPO is separate which is why I mentioned them in the SB stadium situation rather than general discussions regarding other matters of the club.

Not sure why businessmen who have put billions into a club to buy it and run it should listen to supporters who let's face it are not always in agreement with one another.

21 Mar 2024 14:23:36
Interesting comments from Fabrizio Romano re Gallagher.
He says contrary to some reports the negotiations haven't stalled because of Conors wage demands but the club haven't decided if they will need to sell him to balance the books.
That will partially depend on incoming and other outgoings in the summer I imagine.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Mar 2024 15:51:56
It’s the mount - chelsea situation again,

Chelsea brief that they want to keep the player but wage demands need to come down,

Players parents or agent brief that his committed to staying and there’s no high demands,

Remember how much Mount wanted to stay but it was the club who forced him out just for his dad to talk about being “home”

Hopefully there’s compromise between both, Gallagher gets a good wage and stays, perfect squad player. Can cover multiple positions in midfield, young, great engine and can be rotated,

I sent a post earlier that stated I had sent an email to the CST. I have since checked and I sent my email to a director of the Fans Forum not CST.

A few weeks ago I mentioned on this site about an email I had sent to the CST directors.

I have a habit of being pro active about complaints to various bodies within our society. I think it's a sickness.

Anyway my email to the CST was long and focused on a lack of communication from the board to our supporters since they took over the club. I shouldn't have had to send that email because the promise made by the owners was "a guarantee of transparency and communication. " Sadly, in my opinion our board has been found wanting in this particular area.

Obviously I wasn't the only supporter who communicated with the supporters trust because they have just issued what appears to be an open letter to the CFC board expressing several concerns. I share virtually every one of those concerns.

As supporters we do have a voice. So please express any concerns you have through the channels provided. To be fair these channels were set up by our clubs board. So on that score they are to be applauded.

Give them a break .

20 Mar 2024 21:24:04
I’m not sure why putting up concourse prices beyond a normal family’s ability to afford doesn’t warrant criticism.

When we are told that all of the “partners” in the club including the CPO, CST, FAB and season ticket holders will be part of all discussions and kept informed and that doesn’t happen, I think it warrants criticism.

I will always be critical of the club’s continued decision to have away supporters in the Shed.

Strangely I have no problem with season tickets going up in price but selfishly I want concessions to remain.

I cannot see the point in moaning about things that bug you if you’re not prepared to be pro active in your moaning. Venting my anger at a key pad isn’t enough for me.

20 Mar 2024 21:43:25
I am sorry but I should have added for balance that I have sent the club more than one email praising them for several things I think they have done well. That includes investment in players and improved stadium Wi-Fi.

20 Mar 2024 15:28:10
It must be an international break. More so called experts on Talksport and in the current bun giving us the benefit of there financial wisdom. "We are doomed. "

If we are ever found guilty of breaching FFP or PSR rules let's not bleat about. If we are guilty we deserve to be punished.

Agree1 0Disagree

20 Mar 2024 17:26:59
Apart from the historical investigation, I don’t believe we are in breach of PSR rules but if we are found to be I will bleat about it and blame the owners.

20 Mar 2024 18:33:39
I will moan about whoever is responsible but my point is I will not bleat about the punishment.

20 Mar 2024 20:07:20
I'm with you Jimbo, I don't think we have broken FFP or PSR rules but if we have I shall bleat like mad and blame the owners, be it Roman if historical or BlueCo if current!

21 Mar 2024 08:31:47
Tom, I misunderstood your point, I agree there is no point in moaning about a sanction if you have broken the rules but I will be angry that we got ourselves in that position.

19 Mar 2024 21:23:44
The not so good but as expected news osimhen is less likely now means we need to turn our focus to a no9,
Jackson has improved with every week, but competition gets the best out of players imo,
So who do we like,

Toney - this the safest choice? Knows the league and has good record

Gyorkeres - competition likely from Arsenal, who would you choose if both offered same fee

Boniface - started brilliant, looked a beast, been injured so who knows if it's a spell or genuine player in there

Guirressey - probably easiest / cheapest option, started quickly with the goals but not been as potent, again? Purple patch not top class player?

Sesko - isn't ready to lead the line despite the excitement about him,

Watkins - not been linked but what a player his become

Solanke - same as Watkins, improved massively last couple years.

19 Mar 2024 21:51:55
Jackson is a superstar in the making. A truly fantastic player in the making. Pace, skill, technique, strength, awareness. Goals starting to come. He will lead this team going forward. Have faith and patience. He is our future. Back him up with Nkunku and Fofana and save the money for a CB.

19 Mar 2024 21:54:41
Matt just a few things.

1) we could stick with what we have if any preferred option isn’t available.

2) We could (god forbid) just take Lukaku back.

3) The lad from Juve was rumoured to be an option last season. I haven’t got a clue how he is playing this season.

Just a few more options to add to your list.

20 Mar 2024 08:24:59
I'm with G8,

Let's stick with Nkunku, Jackson and Fofana.

Absolutely no way do we take Lukaku back and he would probably refuse anyway.

It would be nice to go with the squad we have minus axfew players that will leave, not spend any money and see where it takes us.

20 Mar 2024 08:44:36
I'm fully aligned with G8, people are letting a few shocking misses early in the season cloud their judgment of Jackson.

None of the other options are a clear improvement on him, so bring in someone who can offer the parts of the game he needs to develop (box movement, heading, drawing fouls) .

21 Mar 2024 05:32:42
Osinhem is the only improvement I really see as a No 9, the others will, like Jackson, take a season to adjust to EPL, do we have that time?
I feel we need a fluid 3 behind the striker, players that can go left right or centre. Jackson, Palmer, Nkuku, Mudryk and Chukumeka can do this, Sterling and Conner cannot, which is why I think they will be sold at seasons end. Technically both are inadequate!
