Hi Ed, as a cfc fan I don't want Chelsea paying over the odds for torres, I think 35mil & sturridge is the max they should offer, to be honest I don't think he's worth anymore. Cfc will also have to change formaton to get him in the side maybe Carlo will go back to his 2 up front and diamond in the middle. I think they'd be better off investing in someone with real pace to replace kalou or anelka as a genuine right sided player, sanchez or Ashley young. Would love to see Torres and Luiz at the Bridge but lets not kid ourselves. Have we not been here before with Robinho, Neymar and Gerrard. My source tells me that he is concerned for the future of Chelsea being able to compete at the top we have an aging squad and in the next 2/3 seasons we will need to replace 4/5 players.Roman is not as willing to part with his cash as he has previously done.This could mean we miss out on top players by being outbid or Roman not willing to match wage demands.Several top earners left in the summer to cut the wage bill, and my source tells me Roman is trying to cut the wage bill back even more.

What happened on Friday really sums up what is happening at Chelsea in terms of who is calling the shots. I said on here months ago that Carlo is nothing but a puppet on a string, with Roman pulling the strings. He had no idea Chelsea had bid for Pienaar, this is Roman's and Ron Gourlay's doing.

The club should let Carlo run his team how he see's fit. Turnbull, Ramires, Sturridge, Benayoun, Zhirkov etc, none of these were his buys, they were all Roman's buys on the advice of Arnesen & co, not Carlo's. Let the manager do his job for christ sake. If you want to be a manager Roman then get your coaching badges, otherwise let the manager do his job. No wonder we are a laughing stock to the rest of the world.

Hey Ed, do you think Pienaar will end up at Stamford Bridge or White Hart Lane? {ed's note - I can't see where Spurs would play him, unless they intend to sell Modric or shift Bale to left back. He would have to be mad to go there in my opinion, he would find it easier to get in the Chelsea team I think. But it will come down to him, so I have no idea as it will be purely a personal choice, he might stay yet to see out his contract and move in the summer.}

Our problem seems to be as much up front as anywhere else.
Even after this terrible run, we have still pretty much controled games & had numerous chances to score, but we can't seem to put the ball in the net.
Perhaps we should start anelka down the middle & bring in proper wingers.
This will give our other forwards food for thought.

Hey ed, is there no long term strategy for chelsea's future teams? With the UEFA's impending new guidelines of a club needing to earn more than they spend surely now would be the time to invest, as most of our key players, that is drogba, lampard, anelka, cole, terry and malouda are all well over 30 and are sure to retire over the next few years. With no red hot young talent in our squad, i don't see how the gap created by these people retiring can possibly be filled. If we are planning for the future as well, who would we sign as a centre back is not the only player we need. We clearly need another striker and a fair few good wingers. I believe with a few months more game time they will be, problem is, say for instance we buy Pjanic & Lombaerts then these young boys will not get games, therefore will start to fade away in the background. Its unlikely we can win the league now so why not blood these lads and have them ready for next season?

Personally i feel we should have started to blood them last season, or blood them this season with Ballack and co as back-up. I believe our club got it wrong this season, none of the blame is with Carlo as it would have been Gourlay's decision to let these players go.

I believe Carlo will be backed in the market this month and in the summer but all i am saying is do not expect Aguero, Pastore etc as they are not in our price range. I expect us to try for Lombaerts & that youngster from Genk. I think we will go for Pienaar and if we get him we will drop our interest in Pjanic.

Chelsea should look to bolster their squad in these positions with these players over this transfer window and in the summer.

RB: Van Der Wiel, Santon or Srna
CB:Phil Jones or Neven Subotic
Def Mid: Ideally Schweinsteiger but more realistic seems to be Arturo Vidal, Nuri Sahin, Gokhan Inler etc.
CAM:They need someone for the future especially to replace Lampard. Alan Dzagoev, Miralem Pjanic, Toni Kroos, Piazon or Ilicic.
FW:a right sided attacker is what is mainly needed with a back up/replacement for Drogba. Jeremy Menez, Tomas Muelller, Alexis Sanchez, Adam Johnson, Luis Suarez for right forward and for center forward Lukaku, Carroll, Nazarit etc.

I do not think Chelsea will be making a signing in Jan. Carlo thinks he can manage with what he has. Alex will be missed but there are suggestions he will return sooner than initial estimates suggested. Recent results are being attributed to poor form and a loss of confidence rather than long term injuries. Expect Carlo to give more time to Kakuta in place of the lethargic Malouda.

On a personal note I would like to see Chelsea recall Mancienne and Rajkovic from loan. Give them a chance. If they can't cut it then its time to cut them. .

This is not a rumour.
For a long time now I have thought Chelsea's big wins in recent times don't show how poor and frustrating they play. The strikers find it very difficult to score goals. Even Drogba can score the easy chances and seem to score the hard chances or at least hit the post. We need a striker than just scores! And we need a play-maker, saying Van der Vaart isn't good enough is a disgrace, not attempting to get David Silva or Sneijder when they were available or even Afellay or Cassano who would have cost under £4mill. Our board are terrible, why sack Wilkins when nothing is wrong, why not spend money? So what the heck let's get a 'Kaka' and let's get a 'Torres' and let's hope Kalou manages to get a season long lay off injury.

I post this here in the hope that maybe you will be an avid reader of the Chelsea Rumour website.

Things are dire Mr Abramovich. . Our team is aged and in need of fresh blood. I truly agree that our youth policy needs to prove fruitful but we also need some younger players for the youth to learn from. .

My first request is that you sack whoever made the decision not to buy Van de Vaart. .

My second request is that you get rid of the dead wood in our squad! Anelka, Drogba (yes, Drogba) Lampard, Terry and Cole. Yes they were great but thank you and goodbye. .

Then my third is that we start again as Arsenal did. Let's concentrate on youth and buy a few 24/25 year olds to add a bit of experience and start again. . A new stadium and concentrate on the future!

Would a couple of January signings really make a big difference to this season now?

If the club are intent on keeping Ancelotti and letting him progress the club forward again would we not be better off scouting realistic targets for the next few months till the end of the season and re-building in the summer?

I say give the youngsters as much playing time as we can now, we should still be capable of a top four place and qualification for next season Champions League has to be the priority now. Lets see what class Kakuta, Bruma and van Annholt really posses and then make our moves for permanent signings in the summer.

Get Kaka on loan maybe for the rest of the season, scout well for the summer and not waste any money in January.

I was thinking of our squad and everyone including Roman knows it needs some new faces. Its all well and good bring through younsters but we need experience there and the quality to continue to win things so the younger players are involved in a winning squad.
In the summer we should buy Mertesacker and get Mexes on the free. This would give us great cover a CB. Like every other Chelsea fan I would love to see Kaka in blue next year. I would also like to see us get Ashley Young and another op class striker like Benzema. Squad for next season if we get given the cash.
