Eds - how did we miss out on Raheem Sterling when he was just up the road at QPR?

Looks a fantastic talent right now, but you can't get 'em all ;-) The club have done magnificently in gathering young talent.

Wow excited for all that, I will take a look at this ratings page right now. Again, we all appreciate it so very much. This site is better than SB Nation, Imo.

Don't worry about the ads, they don't bother me at all on iphone.

{Ed001's Note - the ads bother me though, I hate having them, but they pay for it all so we have little choice! Sorry I got a little carried away listing some of the things we have planned, but I have been putting a lot of work into it, as has Ed033. The average player ratings are going to provide bonuses to the fantasy football scores so you all have input. By the way the ratings site is all down to Ed013. It was all his idea, so if you like it you know who to thank!}

I very much agree, it's great having you here Ed001. Your input these last few days has been really interesting to say the least!!
Like Aron, I also don't really mind the ads.
I'll try to keep posting regularly, but the start of the new academic year has taken has been a busy time.
Keep on bringing the good stuff Eds!! And God, bring us Pogba :)

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, I love to talk football, I would do it for fun if I wasn't doing these sites!}

That's awesome Ed! Just so happy this site exists. Not a lot of my friends are into football the way I and others on this site obviously are. So I'm very very glad this place keeps on going. On here I feel like a normal guy, not a football lunatic haha :)

Cheers ed013 :)

Ed013, it would be good if maybe you could have the ratings on there respective page. The chelsea - Man U ratings on the chelsea and Man U pages and so on.

Just a suggestion as maybe some people won't like the hassle.

Cheers :)

{Ed013's Note - That is very possible, I presume you mean after each game?}

Yep, like a form, maybe using google forms? Or even keep it as it is, all looks good, thanks again

I haven't posted for a while cause, well the site has been a little dull, good to see some life being pumped into it. Thanks Ed001 for your input love reading this page.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, I have been really busy so haven't had time to post much for a while, but I intend to be a lot more active on the sites again now.}

Agreed with ELI, and we really appreciate your input, just the same as we appreciate Ed002 and every other ed.

We need some of the guys back, Curt, if he's still around, Melbourne wherever he is, I seen him on the conspiracy site but that was a long time ago. Can't remember the others.

Jackson is helping keep the page alive also, Let's start posting more guys.

Cheers!

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate. Now that I have furnished Ed033 with a huge to do list of future projects to improve the sites, I will be spending a lot more time chatting and posting. I was stepping back a bit to try and get the planning stuff done. The player ratings site is now up and running, that will have a fantasy football competition on there in the future too. We have a horse racing game to come, with some more free to enter comps running on that. We will have live chat on the sites. Profile badges to be earned. Correct score comps for other sports. And much much more. So keep an eye out for those and we are going to keep it all free, though apologies for all the ads, which we are going to try moving about, if we can, to make them less intrusive on the page. Hopefully we can give us all lots more to talk about even during the international breaks!}

Ed001, always nice to hear your opinion. I remember we chatted about Beilsa a while ago, is he doing well at marseille?

But I wanted to know your opinion on Jose Mourinho, where does he rank for you of all time managers, general opinion and do you reckon he can win the UCL this year?

Thanks a lot sir

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Bielsa has them up there looking like title challengers, despite PSG and Monaco's deeper pockets. They are good to watch as well, which is unusual in French football!

Jose as a person is great, a genuinely decent bloke who is happy to help out others, not just off the pitch either. A friend of mine often tells a story, and I have seen others tell similar tales in the press too, so it was not just a one off, of how, after his team faced Chelsea, Jose sat down with him and had a long chat with him about his game. Jose has a file on every player his team could face, their strengths and weaknesses, and after the game he showed it to my friend and went through it with him and helped him see how he could improve. Apparently he has done that many times, with players from all levels of the game.

He is a winner, and he will always win trophies with his pragmatic brand of football, which is all about winning. Though I can never get over my distaste of that brand of football, it is impossible to dismiss it as it produces results, unfortunately. The thing is, you know if all out attack and not playing up the ref won as many trophies Mourinho would play like that, he is just doing whatever it takes to win. So he has to rank amongst the best of all time, even though his style of football is not the best to watch.

For me he is the second best of all time, only ranked below Bob Paisley, though it hurts me to put anyone else above Shankly! It is close to him being as good as Paisley to me, and I am admittedly biased in this regard, as Paisley is the closest thing to perfect in managerial terms I think there has ever been. The biggest compliment for me though is that all his ex-players love him, even those he has sold, and opposition fans hate him because they know that more often than not his team will beat theirs.}

Thanks so much Ed! Wow about Beilsa, what a champion. thanks for info about mourinho aswell. I agree that it is a little boring to watch, and a little cowardly but yeah, it gets the results and I wouldn't trade any manager or him.

I'm surprised you didn't place Ferguson at the top of managers, whys that?

Thanks again, enjoy your day

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - because Ferguson isn't the best manager. He went to Aberdeen, just as the North Sea oil money came in and had a comparatively large budget, yes he worked wonders with it, but it was still as much about the money as him. He was awful while filling in as Scotland manager. Then he came to United, struggled for a while, then eventually spent enough money to win things, followed by getting the fruits of Ron Atkinson's labours with the youth side. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying he is a poor manager, far from it, he is still one of the best of all time, but you have to put into context what he achieved. That is without bringing the bullying of officials into it, so that favourable calls were given just to keep him off their backs. He would still be up there, but Clough and Busby are better imo. For me he is next, so number 5, though I hate to put people above Shanks, as I said, you have to try and put bias aside when doing this. Fergie was a great, just not the greatest.

As for Mourinho, I would call it pragmatism, not cowardice. He does what it takes to win, no matter how it makes him look to others. His only interest is in being the best, and he works damn hard to take all the pressure off his players and onto his own shoulders.}

Ed001, Love it. After you said about Paisley I went to Wpedia and saw his records, they're quite something. The things he acheived in those 9 years is absolutely brilliant. Woulda been a master tactician, as he was the managers assistant before he was manager as I read, he's a real Liverpool legend, being at the club 50 something years. Shame I didn't get to witness his magic

Interesting about SAF, I agree mostly with what you said, however, it's the last years in which I'm most amazed at, but most of it must have been on luck, the other teams were absolutely terrible.

Lastly, what's your views on pulis? Achieving what he's done at small clubs, do you believe he deserves a shot at a big club?

Thanks again, love your input

I think I can jump the wagon here. Nobody can deny what SAF did at manchester I believe that he is one of the greatest managers I ever witnessed his record speaks for itsself as his team dominated Premier League for ages. Mourihno in other hand can reach more than him but I bet a lot of people wouldn't rate him better than SAF just yet (of course I do as he is the best in my eyes). Other managers worth shouting are Guardiola and Low as they both created something special. To move to point about Pulis I don't really think he can manage high calibre team and probably Newcastle would be his best stop at the moment cause Hughes is doing pretty well in stoke as well
