Hi lads, just wanted to say how happy i am with the season and the club this year.
there seems to be a direction the club want to go in are are implementing it all the negative animosity from Mourinho and Conte has gone. thank god, love them both, just didn't like the infighting and bad press all the time.

i think Sarri is a great coach and is dealing with a lot of out of favour players who were part of Conte's and jose's team ethic and formation and has implemented a more attacking possession style of play in a very short time with players that aren't used to this style as of yet.

i know there is banter on the page over certain players Jorginho i think does a great job of organising Sarri's style of play on the pitch and is a leader on the pitch which chelsea do seem to lack and i think he will only get better over time in that position
kante i know everyone says is playing out of position but he is still the best player on the park most weeks.

Willian, Alonso are not in good form at the mo, but im sure they will come good again. my only problem with Willian is he seems not to like anyone else seems a bit of a loner in the team and doesn't seem to play with a smile anymore but just my observation.

Azpi, rudiger, pedro, luiz, hazard and kante all give 100% each week, no doubting that and i hope they all stay for next year at least rlc, barkley, kovacic are having ok seasons learning the new way of playing under Sarri in basically there first full season at the club so i can forgive them for not setting the world alight.

CHO, great prospect hope he stays at club for many years but now his head has been turned so they say even if he does stay will that always be on the back of his mind if only hazard what a wonderful player but the madrid thing is getting a bit boring i hope real sign who ever is there first choice as he isn't and put this to bed for good.

And finally Morata and Giroud; Morata, i actually think is a great player in the right team formation and set up for him. he is a space player and feeds off the last man in the box from crosses but with our constant cutting in and going back doesn't suit him at all. he comes alive in the box when he is given service from crosses. just stop falling over for fouls it isn't working after 1 and a half seasons.

Giroud, i really like him but he is a good sub squad player now with the potential signings and the potential outs this month i thnk we are going in right direction. good attack minded coach conte style bored the life out of me but i do like the way we are playing.

some of the older players are now on there way out to other clubs good luck to them all. youth being integrated into squad at a reasonable rate yes you can all say cho is leaving but i think the time he has got has been more than fair so far in his career.

i think top 4 maybe 2 cups out of 3 and its been a great season for a transition year with new manager philosophy and lots of new players. Up the Chelsea.

Gianfranco Gola, it's been a while mate. Back with a bang and a great post to read. Very balanced, I agree with pretty much most of it. The advantage being you saved me from writing it lol. Morata will come good at a different club.

However, we need to solve our issues with a goal scorer mate. Only matter of time before we are linked with Andy 'hitman' Carrol lol. hope not. Newspaper are bound to then him and Barnes in again.

Gianfranco gola, 'top 4 and 2 cups' wouldn't just be a 'great' season, it would be amazing, stunning, unbelievable!

10 Jan 2019 11:47:45
good post gola i would say overall the uefa cup is the big 1 we should really believe we can win out of the 3 where in. obviously if we get a striker we might boost our chances of winning more. but if hazard is the only fella in your team scoring you can't expect us to win trophies because like spurs always do teams will double up an take hazard out an wev nothing left to offer.

cam i just say good for you gary cahill if you get a move to fulham. im sure ranieri will be delighted to have such an experienced cb in his poor defence. uv been a fantastic servant to our club and won it all and has probably been 1 of the steals of the roman era is terms of transfers and prices. i hope up be happy were ever u go but im sure your settled in london by now so fulham will seem like the perfect place for u.

I don't think Chelsea will do a deal with Bayern for CHO for reasons I've already given.

I think Chelsea will leave the contract offer on the table until the summer. If he chooses not to sign it. Chelsea will then let him go.

They can continue to play him when it's
appropriate. It's also likely that his value could rise with more playing time albeit balanced as his current contact runs down.

This would also fall into line with when Pusilic joining in the summer.

All this is only a theory lads.

love reading your posts mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 13:55:36
It makes sense Tom. It would be wise to keep him even if he doesn't sign a new contract.

We must remember that he has 18 months still to go on his contract. If he gets game time then that's good as it may change his mind.

Worst scare scenario is that we can sell him in the summmer if he is desperate to leave. If he performs from now until then that should possibly start a bidding war. 30-40 mill is nothing for a young players these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 14:31:13
playing him week in week out wether as a sub or starter will only entise him to stay or his price tag to go uo.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 15:15:08
It is definitely not a decision that should be made in this window, especially as we don't know what's happening with Hazard.

If he wants to go, then let him go but as he's under contract this should be on our terms.

Was thinking about this today, in the past when youngsters have wanted to go we've let them and not got it wrong once. (Academy Boys i'm talking about) . There's not one player who we've let go that I think, damn we should have kept him. I love CHO and can see him being a world class player BUT he is so raw at the moment and the way Chelsea have dealt with him, has been brilliant. I think we need to reject any talk of him leaving, give him the 2nd half of season and decide then. He's a nobody at the moment and if its true that he's been asking for more minutes then I think that's plain wrong, he doesn't deserve it. He's just literally turned 18 and has no experience what so ever. Ed002, if you were his agent, what would be your advice? Cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2019 11:50:42
i think edd will more or less agree with everything u said. he's still a kid? people forget that important part. he's an unproven kid expecting time in a big team like chelsea when he wasnt ready and sarri wasnt willing to throw him to the wolves when he was ready an let him get chewed up. sarri has dealt with cho perfectly. he's helped him improve off the pitch defensively etc an now he's ready an iv every reason to believe if he stays hel play as much as pedro or willian.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 12:19:41
ed001 i cpuld be completely wrong here . but isn't Munich approach to CHO slightly illegal and like tapping up. there's talk about him having got no: 10 shirt and now. there director is saying we want him etc etc. When u hear managers in the prem being asked about other players they tend to say I am not about our players from other clubs as he's their player. how can Munich director just start talking about our players like he's theirs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - they are certainly treading slightly the wrong side of the line as far as I am concerned but it is up to Chelsea to complain and then have to prove it, so they will probably get away with it.}

09 Jan 2019 13:29:53
well. let's hope they have upset chelsea and say NO.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 14:01:09
They seem desperate to produce another Sancho and are doing whatever in their means to succeed even by wrong means.

What they don't realise is that by using wrong tactics to lure a player will only annoy Chelsea and that puts any transfer to bed. His got 18 months left on his contract so there could be a long wait. Good luck to Bayern. I know there is talk of Chelsea lodging a complaint and even if that doesn't work at least it suggests one thing and that is a unhappy Chelsea about this saga.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 14:33:19
edd in your opinion is munich coming out publicly and saying they want cho a game to see if hel hand in a transfer request or is it likely to pee off roman and the board and them to give the middle finger to munich and refuse to deal with them. wats your thoughts and also fellow posters id like your insight into this drawn out situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Bayern, like everyone in the game, know that Abramovich will not hold a player to ransom and will only keep players that want to be at the club. Bayern are just trying to induce him to agitate for a move. Unfortunately it is common practice in football and it is about time more was done to stamp it out, and I say this in the full knowledge that Klopp is one of the worse for tapping up players in the game. There is absolutely no need for it to go on in this day and age.}

09 Jan 2019 15:14:46
ya i was shocked southamptpn allowed van dijk to go there after all that saga its a joke lfc were not punished that time to be honest. but at least southampton were rewarded handsomly for der prized asset . but yeah its really disrespectfull out of a club to come out an try an disrupt a young kid like cho. if he goes der il be really dissapointed and it will make me hate munich even more iv always hated munich in europe for some reason them and barcelona because we faced them a lot Barcelona a lot more dan munich obviously. but i guess i respected an loved d football Barcelona played i just hated the antics of players like alba an busquets any time we played um but den i adored messi puyol and ronaldinho xavi iniesta as we all do. i gues.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 15:16:48
my point being is u respect a rival lile Barcelona cause they play lovely football and we had some memorable nights against them. munich do i just never liked for wat ever reason. every fan has teams he doesn't like i guess. spurs an lfc in england boil my blood. and klopp with his stupid idiotic white teeth id love to get a hammer to him and firminos teeth hahahahhahhahahahahha.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that just sounds like jealousy. Do you have yellow teeth by any chance? ;-)

09 Jan 2019 15:37:03
haha ah edd i do hate the sight of him he's a bluffer. what's your take on higuain and wilson edd which 1 would u take. i think if a loan higuian is worth a gamble he couldn't be any worse dan morata him an sarri seem to no each other he knows how to play in a sarri team he's a goal scorer get him a bit fitter i think hel be far from a has been. im regard to wilson i always liked wilson an joshua king 2 decent lively forwards would they suit us do.? would they be good enough mpre. importantly who knows . fans tend to forget its not our money the club spends so who cares how much he costs i certainly dont. fans tend to be insulted by fees paid to players. maybe because they keep upping prices of jerseys to pay the fees who knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - if Higuaín is fit and up for it, then he is a class above, but he has not been fit and up for it all season so that is a worry. Because it would take him months to get fit enough, I don't see a 6 month loan move as a worthwhile gamble.

As for Wilson, good player, dodgy knees plus he does not always make the best runs. I would have to say I think Sarri could help him in that regard though, so he would be the one I would go with.

As for King, he is terrible imo. Lightning quick but his runs are abysmal and his touch is so inconsistent it is maddening. He lacks football intelligence, which is why he is, so far, a one-season wonder. With his pace and size he should be a consistent 15 goal a season + man, but he never will be. He just never gets in the right positions or picks the right option on the ball.}

09 Jan 2019 17:25:53
Players who are unfit and suspect knees and we are being quoted £50m makes no sense whatsoever. We might get some mileage out of Wilson until the next injury but not at that price and as pointed out we need someone to hit the ground running so I would go after Jamie Vardy. Knows where the goals, fit and is and not currently getting on well with Puel and we could temper the move with Drinkwater who did appear in local papers saying he wished he was back at Leicester. Yes, he's 31 but we could get a couple of years or three out of him.

Sarri said after the game he is very happy with him and he just played like a 25 year old. To be honest I'm hoping with Sarri showing faith in him he will sign a new contract. Rooney did it years ago when wanting more money . said he may leave plus we bid for. him. several times.

Just a bit of fun. Be totally realistic otherwise it's pointless haha. Wondered what people's starting XI would be at the end of the transfer window if it was up to you?
Mine:

GK: Kepa
LB: Emerson
CB: Rudiger
CB: Luiz (I'd like Koulibaly but won't happen)
RB: Azpi (if we sign Hysaj he'll push him close)
CDM: Kante
CM: Paredes/ Barrela (both look neat players)
CM: RLC (I know he isn't fit right now)
LW: Hazard
ST: Icardi
RW: Hudson-Odoi

So as negative as people think I am, there's actually only 2 new signings in that starting XI. I actually think we're not far off at all! Obviously the controversial decision is Kante to CDM, but that's just my choice, I honestly don't rate Jorginho in the slightest I'm never going to be a fan.
I think there will be a lot of players leaving the club so it'll be an interesting period up until the end of the month as they will need replacing?

I don’t rate Jorginho either mate, unfortunately being critical will cause people to think you’re negative. What can you do.

{Ed0333's Note - maybe the adjective is ‘objective’ and not negative?

Kepa

RLC Kante Kovacic
Hudson-Odoi Higuain Hazard.

i think jorginho is a really lovely footballer and our midfield is 10 times better with him kante and barkley/ kova/ rlc dis season. d only thing we lack is a bit of extra creativity.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 12:09:27
After selecting Hudson-Odi last night I was disappointed he wasn't given a target man in the box so he could put in his crosses. Sadly, I am not a fan of Jorghino either, not in the same class as Fabregas in his heyday with his weighted passes. With him there is far too much short passing sideways or ten yards forward and I prefer Kante in his old position not going forward as much.

To me Barkley is now fully fit and no more than a good quality sub, preferring Kovacic but with him, his inability to score means he will always be vulnerable if we can get an attacking midfielder who scores. It was a good performance against a useful team up to their ten yard area and then it is was the same as every other game, we have to buy in January someone with an eye for goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2019 13:39:57
I really don’t understand why people seem to want to play Kante as a CDM. He’s at his best when he’s played as a CM (not as advanced as he’s playing now) . We saw under Conte when he first signed that playing CDM limited him massively, it was only after Conte switched him and Matic that we saw him at his best.

I think Jorginho is a good player. He hasn’t been at his best recently but I think that coincides with our decline in general play. I think with a new ST and maybe another winger or CHO playing more regularly we’d see him being able to pick out more Fàbregas-esque passes. Both Willian and Hazard (for the most part) want balls into their feet, so we’re not seeing as many balls played long over the top for them to run onto.
