RDM doesn't rotate players because he is scared of losing his job?

Agree or disagree?

Tired of people putting teams without Torres upfront, we need to sort our defense out first! If our defense had been any good last night we would be talking about a comfortable 3-0 win in which Torres scored and looked extremely hungry!

LF07

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Torres was awful but, yes we need the defense and pivot to start working together as one unit instead of two.

Agree6 Disagree1

Totally agree. Fed up with everyone bashing Torres. He's never going to be the striker he once was but he is improving. He works hard for the team and links up well with our front trio. Yes we would all love a prolific striker who only needs one or two chances to score but that's not what we have at the moment, so we should just accept it and move on. Also how many through balls have we played for Torres to run onto? When Torres came back into midfield and got the ball, he went on to win us a freekick just outside their box. He was also involved in both our goals in the first half. Yes he went missing in the second half but that was because Shakter was dominating possession.

We're playing in a new system and at the moment our movement between defense and midfield is too slow. When playing with the trio we leave large gaps, making our defense vulnerable. When Hazard/ Mata don't track back, it forces Mikel and Ramires out wide to support our full backs leaving lots of space in front of our defense. In order for us to stop leaking goals we need to start pressing higher up the pitch like Barcelona do. There's no point in playing possession football like them then sitting back as soon as we lose the ball. When we press up high, as we did against ManU in the league cup, our defense doesn't look too bad.

Finally January window is always hard to buy in. Sturridge is unlikely to sign a new contract and will most likely be sold, leaving us with only Torres as a recognised striker. Falcao probably won't sign in January and some of our other targets like Schurrle aren't available. So for all those saying we should sell Torres, that's not going to happen, at least not in January.

Really think that we did well against Shaktar last night, i mean they play almost identical to the way we are trying to play and have been playing so for many years so i think really great result. My only worry is Luiz against clever movement in the box and Torres' decision making with the ball,i would maybe give moses a go upfront against Noorsjeiland after we maybe seal the result and also play him a full game upfront against leeds...But we all know its Going to be Torres 80mins then Sturridge 10 mins against noorsjeiland and against leeds Sturridge 90 mins

Hey guys the young RB Wallace we are closing in on ..he is brilliant going forward he reminds me of Maicon in some way really think along with Piazon he is a future star...just worried about sam looks likely that he will be sold, and its a shame because he's a great talent maybe if he hadn't had the injury problems he would've been playing as a regular now.

Steve

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Sam? sorry who is he

Agree0 Disagree1

Sam, as in Hutch I guess he means. And I feel for him too, but at least he's still able to play-ish. I think he's the reason we put up with Bosingwa for so long-we had him earmarked as the replacement. Shame it didn't work out.

Sam hutchinson...he was the next ivanovic but injuries did him in

taby

Agree0 Disagree0

He's out of contract end of season and unlikely to be renewed but club has shown great loyalty over years
Hope he gets a decent move and gets to carry on with what was a very promising career

Agree1 Disagree0

Sam Hutchinson...

I'd honestly love to keep hutch on as a reserve player. Not every player can start and he would be proud as hell to wear the blue of chelsea, regardless of his role. That boy is a true blue.

Anyone know how we will contain Suarez on Sunday? With the way he's playing I won't be surprised if he scored a couple and since he megged Terry about 5 times in one half when we lost 4-1 I think our defence needs to work on how to contain him.

As much as we need a world class striker come Jan, we really do need a world class center back or two. Luiz scares me, he's a real problem and a liability but Cahill can be just as bad at times. I think Terry knows his time is up at Chelsea, not bad getting around £120k a week to sit on the bench then have a bash on the excercise bike when your bored is it?

would like to point out one thing. although we were a bit lucky last night, we won against a very good team without terry, cole, lampard and drogba (who is now obviously in china) for the past 7/8 years this would have been unthinkable.

Vincent

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Yes but lampard isn't good enough terry a great leader but little slow and we did miss cole
Who would lampard replace in the team ? Oscar Ramires.. Not even mikel as he can't so that job

Agree2 Disagree3

He doesn't mean they should be playing, he's saying that we've definitely taken a large step forward with our transition that we can win such a tough game without most of the 'old guard' playing...

its kinda ironic how i said before the game we should play moses upfront and everyone disagreed and now after his goal everyone says "Give moses a go upfront!"

Yes Torres has improved this season and is actually a good ball player, yes Luiz has also improved and he's ball play has also improved but!If you look at both of them the one should be scoring goals and the other should be stopping goals that isn't happening, its like we have 2 extra midfielders in our team.I think they have been playing great but we need someone who played the role of scoring goals and someone who plays the role of stopping the other team attack...our formation feels like a 3-3-4-0 formation at times and don't tell me its because we try to play a blind no.9 because barca do that and i don't think messi, villa or alexis have trouble scoring goals.

And also don't tell me that Torres scored last night because that was more the keepers goal than his goal! Back 4=Ivanovic*Cahill*Terry*Cole/Bertrand and get Falcao and bring back Lukaku then we will have a good variation upfront ...Torres out!Sturridge out on loan to a club that can give him experience as a ST not a winger!otherwise also sell him

Believable2 Unbelievable3

We won't loan out Sturridge as it's his last year of his contract. Luiz I do agree is quite a liability and Cahill should definitely start infront of him especially in bigger games. I watched Torres yesterday and in the first half he played well, took on defenders and was involved in both goals. The fact is that its highly unlikely that we'll sign Falcao in January, Sturridge isn't going to sign a new contract so will probably be sold. So that will only leave us with Torres, which means he definitely won't be sold.
And if you want to compare us to Barca, Villa has only scored 6 goals, alexis 1 and Messi is on a level on his own. Barca haved scored 42 compared to the 45 we've scored. So even if Torres isn't scoring we clearly aren't doing that bad...

Agree2 Disagree0

Sturridge already went on loan as a striker to bolton. scored like 10 goals in 12 games

Jordan

He played on the right flank for bolton

ED001 was wondering if you have seen enough of Kevin De Bruyne this seasons and what you think of him as a player a German chap who i work with a Bayern Munich fan say's on form he is one of the best in the Bundesliga and he reminds him of a young Schweinsteiger who was also a winger in his younger day's and say's he can see De Bruyne take up a similar role in Centre Mid your opinion mate?

BLUEBLOOD {Ed001's Note - I haven't seen any of him this season, but I have watched him a number of times over previous seasons. I will be honest, I was gutted Chelsea got him as I wanted Liverpool to go for him. I like him, he does have the drive of Schweinsteiger, I agree with your friend, he could make a very good centre midfielder. In fact, I always thought he would be better in there myself. De Bruyne is one of those modern day footballers who can play anywhere, I don't like comparisons, but like the way Iniesta operates for Spain and Barca. Not a true winger, nor a true centre midfielder, probably closer to the old number 10, drifting about the pitch and finding space. He looks to have a very good work ethic, though he is not a tough tackling type, more of a high press, forcing the opposition into mistakes, which is very much the modern way of playing. If Chelsea are staying with their current system of 1 up top, 3 behind and 2 deep lying central midfielders, I would defo see him as one of the 2 in the future.}

Well I haven't posted 4 a while now and I have a lot to say but that will make my post long and un readable ao to put it short; Chelsea Rules.

Now on the game yesterday we won but only just, we are playing really well offensively but at the other end we are awful, now we might all want to point fingers Luiz, or say the team loose concentration Luiz or lack of experience from some players Luiz. I think we can do better in that respect. Torres well we've tried right? I mean come on he is just not the man to take us forward, we need another striker one that can actually make defenders wet their pants. We should take it on the chin and admit to ourselves that Torres would never be the player he used to be. Fact.

All in all I love the three muskerteers who doesn't, Rami is doing well too so also Cahill, Moses for me should be played rather than Torres. Bring on the scousers and let's beat them like an old drum :). Come on Chelsea.

Great game last night but only because of last gasp goal, but I think our problem is that everyone knows our starting 11, we haven't tried anything else or other players but there is no surprise with us, with our defenc way it is I'm really worried bout Suarez on Sunday !!

Believable1 Unbelievable2

If we play cahill and terry suarez shouldn't be a problem

Agree2 Disagree1

I hope your right mate, last time Suarez faced terry he nut megged him 4 times in one half and we lost 4-1

I'd say ivanovic and cahill centre back

Luiz is f.......g liability!
DanCfan

Believable11 Unbelievable3

I just can't see how anyone can disagree with your post DanCfan. He is a liability and unless he sorts it out unfortunately he will cost us!

RC

Agree1 Disagree1

The majority of the goals we have conceded recently have been the fault of the lb whether its cole or bertrand. I do agree however Luiz's last 2 games havent shown him in good light

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes most team target our left side, Cole is not playing very well these days and Bertrand havent really had the chance yet. I think the main reason is Hazard is never helping out defending which should force Mikel to do so but he aint either, so we have a poor Cole doing it all alone if not Oscar comes down.

We definately need to change our defensible philosophy its not just individual errors.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Yes we need someone who know alot about deffense when playing this style. what they are currently being told do not work at all and keeps costing us games.

Agree2 Disagree0

The system we are using has changed dramatically from last year as have the players. It will take time to adjust.
