Use our rumours form to send us chelsea transfer rumours.

A point is not a bad result because of the win at utd. The last two months we have looked a different team, about the same time us fans got off rafas back and supported the team. But again as a manager he let's himself down with stupid substitutions. Benayoun should not play for chelsea ever again, how the hell he even got to join our club is beyond me. Moses on for hazard I agree with only because he took a knock otherwise I would of maybe taken off mata instead. Oscar had one of his best games. Lampard should have been brought on instead of benayoun to make a three man midfield with rami and luiz. How good of a team do we look with the energy of luiz and ramires in midfield. I would say the only down side to them is ramires passing, if you follow him throughout the game he gives the ball away far too much. But saying that i'm just looking for faults. I think tonights team is probably the best side we have, sadly we don't have the quality in reserve. Hopefully wrap up champions league qualification against villa on saturday, win uefa cup and the season doesn't look bad at all. My hopes for next season:
Manager: mourinho
One forward from:
Falcao, cavani or lewandowski.
Angel di maria
A young quick centre half

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Di Maria haha he is another player who plays for him self and not the team. We're building a very nice squad of team players. {Ed018's Note - we don't need DiMaria}

Agree0 Disagree0

Shurrle will probably come and be seen as a "forward" as he is very versatile, possibly along with an out an out striker in the form of Falcao with Torres leaving. A young centre back would be a good purchase or look at integrating Kalas into the squad if deemed good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

We definitly need a class cb. our current ones don't cut it for me in terry (too slow/aging), ivanovic (i rate but makes the odd mistake) and cahill (can make the last ditch tackle brilliantly but often loses his man or doesn't get close enough like with adebayor)

Guys a reminder. Imagine if Torres nods in that header when he got butted in the nose or if Hazard squares it to him or Rami for a tap in instead of shooting over. Or if Mata's shot before the break gets that little deflection to pull away from Hugo Lloris. Or Azpilicueta's cross-turned-shot dips that second quicker. Or if Rami doesn't slip when played in by Mata and taps it in. We could of (and perhaps arguably should of) scored a lot more there, we cut their defence apart. One wonder strike and a goal following an offside touch prevented us getting 3 points. If after that Liverpool match you had offered me 7 points in our games against United, Spurs and Swansea I'd have taken it very gratefully. Throw in Europa League final qualification too and it looks a very good option. All we need to do is beat Villa and we effectively qualify due to our hugely superior goal difference. Keep the faith guys.

P. S. Azpilicueta or Oscar for MOTM for me, former had Bale in his pocket for about 60 minutes and played superbly, latter got another goal and was our hardest worker and normally our brightest option.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't get me wrong we could have scored a few, but when u take off hazard and Oscar your just asking them to come at us. Both actually defended and closed down exceptionally well. Moses and benayound are no where near our standards. Terrible supsyitutions yet again. I just can't stand Benitez.

Agree0 Disagree0

HAZARD WAS INJURED, jesus he went down the tunnel straight away. He trusts benayouns experience and ability over anyone else on the bench in the wide area's.

Agree0 Disagree0

He explained the Yossi sub, saying he needed a wide player. since when has yossi been a winger? He lacks pace and the ability to beat a man, he struggles to track back, if we didn't have Azpi in at RB I would have been far more concerned that with Yossi on the field Bale would have torn us apart. I understand players are tired and he needs to rotate but putting Lamps on in the middle and moving Ramires wide would have been better!

What was wrong with the pitch tonight? Proitos {Ed018's Note - good question, Ramires couldn't stay on his feet}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wet surface but the ground was hard.

Can we please sack the waiter before the europa cup final. Where there in-spite of him, not because of him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yess! F him, he don't deserve anything for his cv. Especially after taking hazard and Oscar off. We would have scores another. Torres and benayoun can follow their scouse mate out of the bridge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Awful substitutions by the waiter can't wait till he leaves.

Fergi's last loss at home: Chelsea
Fergi's last FA cup loss: Chelsea
Fergi's last League cup loss: Chelsea
Fergi's last Charity Shield loss: Chelsea
The team that beat Fergi the most: Chelsea

No wonder he's thrown in the towel.

Good post! VBS

Pretty much the story of our season in control and ahead twice then we gift them 2 goals. Centre halfs not decisive enough and basically playing with no striker.
Then to top it off a couple of crap substitutions.

Well done Benitez u person. Take off the bright sparks and bring on be quoin and Moses who are well bellow chelsea quality.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hazard was injured and Oscar had run his ass off. Complaining for the sake of it. {Ed018's Note - yea but why not bring on Lampard and push Ramires to the right. Benayoun has no business out there}

Agree0 Disagree0

Crazy substitutions, simply crazy. This was a cup final game. Top 4 finish supposed to be the priority. VBS

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand what you saying Ed but I think he wanted Ramires energy and speed in Cm tracking Bale back on counter attacks, Lampard doesn't have any speed, obviously better ball retention though.

Im not to mad about the subs, they scored a super goal and an offside goal. We had numerous chances to win this game.
A month ago if you said beat Aston Villa and you get Champions League we would have all taken that. {Ed018's Note - and that's fine, I expect the team to be ready to beat Villa and everything will be ok}

Agree0 Disagree0

There's no reason we couldn't have switched to a 4-3-3 or even had Lamps a bit further up the pitch since he isn't the best tackler anyway. He might have been able to get the winner.

Thought we had played decently tonight and did enough to win. Not sure how we always throw away leads. But it was our own fault. Plenty of opportunities to have put the game to bed. Rafa's subs were beyond baffling.

Benayoun on? Yeah let's play with 10 men for the last 10 mins.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

8 men including Torres and Moses.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Torres played pretty well. If Hazard had crossed the ball to the far post he could have easily scored.

Eds do top two or three go direct into champions league leaving other team/teams to play a qualifier?

NWBLUE {Ed018's Note - top 3 go in automatically. 4 place has to play the qualifier}

Come on chelsea win tonight and we are back in champions league, please can we have a boring end of season and not be on the edges of our nerves for last 2 games.
Plus we have Everton last game of season and if media hype is to be expected they will want to give moyes a good send off.
Make it easy for us boys

Just like to say good luck to Rafa for tonights game hope you show these london clubs what a great coach you really are and put these big head spurs fans and avb in there place. It will look good on your cv to get top 4 finish with all you had to put up with and europa league keep adding to that cv.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes ding fantastic take off the two best players haha fsw

So sir alex retires. maybe he was too fed up of losing to chelsea

Man utd have lost to Chelsea the most in the premier league era

Blue Warrior.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Funny to watch all the Utd fans clamouring for JM. Sincerely hope he doesn't go there. Personally I think Moyes will be a good fit. He always seemed the natural successor to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stat Attack.

Chelsea 3 Premier League titles in last 10 years.

Manchester United 5 Premier League titles in last 10 years.

MEF

No one said anything about titles.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many FA Cups and Europa finals? :P

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how you only compare pl titles because the last 10 years we've actually won the same amount of trophies. plus without fergie man united are going on a downward spiral from here on!

Hi Ed, do you know if there's any interest in some of our keyplayers? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea who the "key" players are.}

Hazard, Mata, Cole and so on

Even though I do not like SAF, I want to wish him good luck, he did a remarkable job to get united to first, and for that, I respect him, also mourinho is coming home

Either we hurry and get Jose or UTD hurry and get moyes because Jose at UTD is heartbreaking

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dont worry, Jose will be back, Moyes is 20-1 on to go to united and Jose is 10-1 on to come home

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually bookies have Moyes at 1/8 to join Man U and William Hill have suspended betting on Jose last week when its plain and clear he is moving back to Chelsea. Scott M.

Hi Ed,

Rumours circulating that we're close to a deal for Arda Turan. Any chance of that being true? {Ed002's Note - "Close" to a deal? Not that I am aware.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ok cheers, just somewhere I read that we had triggered a 24 million euro release clause!

Probably just the usual rubbish. but never the less fun to ask

Enough of managers, right now tonight is more important; team vs Spurs.

Cech

Azpiliqueta - Cahill - Terry - Cole

David Luiz - Lampard

Ramires - Mata - Hazard

Torres

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hmmmm. need demba ba up top, I want torres to get better but I just don't think he will, also I don't enjoy watching rami on the wing but I suppose we need to be defensive tonight as we cannot lose, a draw or a win is vital. maybe a 433 if rafa wants to change it up with mata and hazard as wingers sticking ramires back in his favorable position. i'm sure rafa will suprise us with his selection though

Ed might be time for you to have a holiday. with SAF retired I would imagine your going to get a landslide of questions. To everyone else the Eds will tell us when they know what's happening so let's reign in the constant question about Jose

Well hope Jose does the rite thing hope he doesn't go utd everything fits into place as well with to also saying he wouldn't mind going back but little bit of hope as I wonder if that's what Everton manager being holding out for

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If united want jose that's where he will go. Just don't think he is in their plans though.

08 May 2013 08:24:28
Ed I know you don't talk managers, but is this ferguson retiring talk a bid to try and sign Jose before a potential move elsewhere. {Ed002's Note -That would be one for the conspiracy page.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think not if Jose is free that is we're he will go, unless your conspiracy theory is, Jose has already signed for chelsea or agreed terms, and can't go to united.

Before sit Alex does reveal he is to retire we need to her Jose signed on a contract with us. This is worrying news. Jose would love UTD job and sit Alex would want him to take it. We need to sort out the release clause if that is the case and get him home
