wow, that was hard to watch.
Felt sorry for Romeu, he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights !
Can't make my mind up who is worse Sturridge or Malouda ?
Should have given Hutcinson a run out as Ferreira won't be around next season.
Essien is struggling to regain his form, but we need to play him vs Blackburn as he will play in the final with lamps and mikel.

I thought we are a few players away from challenging for top, but considering that both Mancs will gevstrenghtening, and so will Arsenal and Spurs, we will have to make a massive investment to make us challengers again.

JG

Believable2 Unbelievable1

A few I would say 6 or 7

Ed, Do you think that these players will leave Chelsea at the end of the season?

Kalou, Malouda, Boswinga, Essien, Drogba,Ferreria, Meireles, Mikel, Turnbull, {Ed002's Note - Some will.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Can only hope

Agree2 Disagree1

All of them listed i hope, & sturridge

Agree3 Disagree1

Add Terry to that list.

Agree0 Disagree4

Why is everyone including Meireles on these lists? He has had a decent season!

Win the champions league or not our squad is 25 points of man city 1-2 signings will not make us any nearer we need 4 first team players and a couple of squad player's is there a plan to rejuvenate the squad this year ED? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

This game was a disgrace. Fair play to liverpool they wanted the win and they earned it. Im not going to go through the players that played badly because that would take way to much room, so ill focus on one of the only postives. Lukaku played well in the few minutes he got.
Did RDM make the right choice tonight
Jono

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Yes we played awful, but look at our chances and their goals.
Ivanovic - hit the post, free header, should've scored!
Torres - hit the bar, in my mind still world class, should be starting in Munich by the way
Lukaku - free header should've scored

Liverpool goals:
OG - well Essien has not read that at all, he shouldn't be sprinting by at the time suarez kicks it at him.
Henderson - JT would have just contolled and passed it but he slipped!
Agger - keepers nowhere and between them essien and betrand should be saving it.
Shelvey - Ross Turnbull shocker again, everyones saying good strike, yeah, but it was on a plate and I could've scored it.
Penalty - Ivanovic hit Carrol's chest not his face.

So after playing awfully, on another day we would've won 3-0.

Agree0 Disagree2

Lets look at the fa cup final. Reina lets in a powder puff shot near post for the first goal. Drogba scores the second through the defender's legs. The linesman misses the fact that Carroll's header was over the line. Liverpool mess up a number of shooting chances late on. Take off the blue glasses. You'll need them for the Bayern game.

Agree2 Disagree1

How many times has JT done that this season?! He's awful.

Of the players who played tonight:
Turnbull-god awful mistakes. We NEED to find a backup goalkeeper and get rid of Turnbull and Hilario.
Ferreira-I think not playing showed. He is a smart player but he's rather unathletic now. Would much rather have seen hutch in there.
Terry-worst game I can ever recall seeing him play.
Ivanovic-like terry worst game I can recall seeing him play in some time. If he puts in the free header earlier in the game it could have been a much different game.
Bertrand-probably our best performance today. I'm growing more and more confident in him replacing Ashley.
Essien-it hurts me to say this but he is done. Sell him now because he offers absolutely nothing but name power. He has no pace. No ability with the ball. Isn't the constant presence he used to be.  I just struggle to see him making any impact.
Romeu-I think it showed today that he hadn't played in a while. Worst performance I've seen from him but you expect that with the amount of time off.
Malouda-get rid of him. He slows down our game so much and brings nothing to our squad.
Sturridge-I think getting rid of him is the best option. He is an awful teammate and constantly is selfish. He can grow up on somebody else's dime for all I care.
Torres-he really had no support. It's tough watching because he sees us struggling and he works his balls off to do what he can to help but were helpless. I would've loved to see him go crazy at the kop but it's tough to do anything when you're surrounded by jokes.
Ramires-another solid performance. Less influence but surrounded by less quality.

I would have rather gave the starters a rest against Blackburn who have already been relegated and therefore get 1 and a half weeks of rest than rest them this game and give up all chance of winning.

Dont agree bertrand was our star man. positionally he's not all there (ok down to age but still not up to scratch). suarez kept peeling off him, either coming deep or when bertrand was ball watching suarez would peel off to the wing and receive the ball in space. also bertrand was the one who couldnt recover the ball from suarez when essien scored the OG. yes romeu played an awful touch to him and terry was megged but bertrand was running alongside suarez the whole time and couldnt knock him off the ball.. still has some way to go i think

Agree1 Disagree0

Perhaps I phrased that wrong. I didn't mean he played a blinder but I do think he put in a better shift than everyone not named Ramires and right on line with Torres.

My team for next season

Cech

Richards luiz terry cole

Ramires fellani

Hulk Hamsik Mata

Torres

I think this team would storm the prem. I know it would cost a few quid though!
Lampard, josh, paizon, obi, lukaku, courtis, chalobha, kane
Ivanovich, maybe keep kalou and drogs.
What do you think? We are sorted with centre backs. The midfeid would be bursting with energy and creativity.
And Torres WILL come good next season( infact he has put heart and soul in his performances latley!)
Thoughts please
Luke

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Torres wont be here next season, neve mind about effort,Id rather have an idle tw-t who knows where the net is,compare him to the top teams strikers, hes nowhere near, time he did one.

Agree3 Disagree5

Would hulk, hamsik and mata work back? think ramires and full backs would get caught on the counter too much

Agree0 Disagree0

He is top striker whether you like it or not and he is here to stay.
roan

Agree1 Disagree0

We can sell Torres and bring in any one, they will struggle to get goals while sturidge and malouda are on the pitch.

We need PEP even if we have to wait a year!

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Pep trying to coach the crap players that were on view today would be hysterical.

Tk

Agree1 Disagree0

Pep took over a world class team, in my opinion if he had to re build a team I am not sure he could do it.

Why RDM should not be Chelsea manager. Chelsea have done great things under RDM, a brilliant run in the Champs league, and an FA cup trophy, but in the league against the top teams we have an awefull record,
Man C Lost
Spurs Drew
Arsenal Drew
Newcastle Lost
Liverpool (3-0 at half time, so i can safely assume a loss is on the cards)

That is two points from a possible 12, how can we expect to challenge for the title if we cannot beat the teams around us.
I know what a great job we have been doing in the cups, but is it not one of the most publicized problems with Drogba especially that he comes good in the big games, and this is what he has done, fantastic performances against Barca, Spurs (FA Cup) and Napoli but very little in the league. For RDM to be considered a firm favorite for the manager position surely he would have had to get the best out of his players in the league, which imo he has not, and as a result we need to win the champs league to be in it next season which is surely unacceptable when we had a solid chance of at least getting 4th.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

6th place finish and at least 25 points behind the Manc clubs, says it all really.

Agree1 Disagree1

Its a poor team selection but bare in mind the weight of games we have played latley and the priority was always guna be on the champions league final and resting for it, he just hasnt got the selection of players to make it work,

Agree0 Disagree1

In RDM defence Boas had done the damage well before he took over

Agree2 Disagree3

I couldn't agree more. I don't believe RDM is the man for the job or has made a great difference. You know who has, the players especially the old guard who just didn't want to play for AVB but decided to try and play to their potential when he left. He has made some strange decisions and didn't cut it at WBA. He has the club at heart but We defo need a new manager next year At this moment I'm in two minds about the season. Won the FA Cup GREAT. 6th in the league absolutely AWFUL. Holding great hope for the CL and a win will make it a fantastic season however a loss will in my mind make it terrible season for our club with no CL next season. And watching tonights game we seriously need some new players. As most on here say Malouda is not up to it and does not even seem to be trying, Essien great player for us but not the same since his injuries, Defensively I think we'll be okay next year, Midfield other than Rameires needs overhaul with a new winger also required. Lets hope it turns out a fantastic season come 19th

Agree0 Disagree1

I dont want him as manager next season, lamps n jt can say wat thy want thy wont b around long, if spurs n castle draw weekend ill b pissd after the team he put out. sturridge was amazing again PINKY fukin useless he is

Your last manager got sacked for trying to get rid of the OAP's HA Ha Ha

This is an absolute disgrace.John Terry is sleepwalking.Essien,Malouda are just standing as if the are watching the game live. What must Torres be thinking having already hit he bar and playing with players who have absolutely no desire to play! Why Sturridge and Malouda do not pass to Torres is a mystery .Let us hope the players turn up in the second half. Why is Lampard smiling when we are putting in that kind of performance!

Sorry to all of you who insist on RDM bu I do not agree. His team selection tonight was shocking even worse than in the game with Newcaslte unless I am missing something and we have resigned from 4rth place. You can't play this kind of team in Anfield.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

We have just won the fa cup and are less than two weeks from champions league final. Give the guy a break perhaps be should have played the starting eleven he has in mind for the final and risked an injury or two to an already depleted team

Agree1 Disagree1

08 May 2012 20:58:16
Lol have you ever seen Chelsea play a worst half of football than this? Surely they are all taking it easy so they do not get injured and can play in the champions league final?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

08 May 2012 20:53:28

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Sturridge or essien will.. to fill in for meireles. either:

1) lampard will go CAM, mata on wing and essien DM with mikel....
2) lampard and mikel DM, mata CAM, sturridge wing

unless we play torres wing, drogba st, kalou wing, mata cam. which i would genuinely prefer seeing as both ess and sturro had bad games today and have for a while

Think it would be a disgrace if Di Matteo doesn't get the job. Chelsea have only been in the Champions League Final twice and i think we have a real chance. Who needs a big name manager that we will just sack after a few months stick to Di Matteo, the players seem to like him and i think he could do us good.

FatFrank

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Hes brought back the old guard though.. which is why avb was unsuccessful as when he dropped them and they affected team morale but if were to think of a long term project would it include these OGs as players?

Chelsea should let go of Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba they are legends and will always be but for our midfield and attack to really get going again with youth i just feel Drogba is holding back Torres and obi. we will add some youth to the midfield next season don't want the same happening with Frank holding them back...Dont get me wrong i love them its just best for the club as a "team"

If capello gets the job I'm going to become a train spotter, he will destroy the club. Plus his man management skills are shocking. Please if you reading this mr abromavich there is only one Italian for the job, RDM!

Dan J

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I want capello cos I had a massive tip it was him going to be next Chelsea boss! Jumped on it big time at 20/1. Now its 10/1

Pinky

P.s but yes I would love RDM he is defo the right man

Agree0 Disagree3

Disagree look at capello's club management record it is unbelievable.

Not saying I want him at our club but wouldn't be the worse choice.

FT9

Agree2 Disagree0

Robbie should be given the job permanently, he has turned the club around, he has Mikel looking half decent and is getting the best out of the players.
We need to pick someone and stand by them RDM has proven he can do the job, if we dump him come the end of the season and get yet another supposedly big name manager in I can see us come january or febuary appointing another interim manager.

Agree1 Disagree1

Robbie's got a place here. I can understand there being other candidates, but please no ridiculous short list with names like deshamps, blanc and even Capello. Would still like to see Zola brought back in some capacity. Even if it didnt work out least it wouldn't mean paying off a whole new coaching setup like we have been doing time and time again.
