Just a read a comment on Vital Chelsea, we made me smile. A perfect positionsl description for David Luiz is "a box to box defensive striker".

JG {Ed001's Note - that made me chuckle, best description I have seen of him.}

I'm so sorry for making this many grammar mistakes. It takes awhile to adjust to typing on those Steve Jobs keyboardless devices.

Hopefully we can get fourth spot and champions league football next year.Dont want to see us taking huge gambles with the likes of AVB this year and possibly guardiola next season.I see him as a gamble,I mean Barcelona don't even need a manager there that good.Mourinho proven at Chelsea, proven throughout Europe.Huge changes in players need to be made.Hazard, robben, falcao, banega, sahko,VDW,giovinco just some of the players I'd like at Chelsea.
Keep drogba, lampard and terry, just not in first team. They are squad players now.Not convinced by luiz as a defender, but looks great passing and pushing forward, possibly play him CDM.Torres, essien, merieles, malouda, bosingwa, kalou, mikel all sold.

So Peps not good enough, and you want to sell Essien, back to the drawing board mate

Not completely back to the drawing board mate. I think you have a point about Guardiola. He inherited a core of a team that had been playing together since they were 12... However, at Chelsea we need to forge a new 'core'. Guardiola does not have a track record on this and therefore would be a gamble. Funny thing is, Guardiola seems to recognise this and doesn't want to gamble his reputation on Chelsea.

No, my money is on Mourinho, but only if Real Madrid win the Champions League this year. If they win, he will leave as he will feel his work is done there. If they don't, I'm not so sure...

Selling Essien would be bonkers though. Sorry.

Fair point mate but i would still be over the moon if we got him, for me he's on par with Jose

Absolutely SHED... I think it's very dangerous for us to turn our noses up at a manager who has won so much and so consistently. I would be happy with Guardiola as well. However, I would prefer Mourinho just as he tried and tested at Chelsea and did things that we as fans never imagined would happen with our football club. Whether Guardiola is on par with Mourinho or not is a hell of a debate. Guardiola has won the lot, but so has Mourinho. The only advantage Mourinho has is that he has won the lot in other countries and with different teams as well.

To be honest though, I'm nervous if we can attract either of them. It's clear that the squad is in need of major overhaul and we're clearly not willing to give a manager time to do that if it sacrifices results. This summer is going to be very very interesting...

Seriously though, anyone but Benitez.

Sorry, AM BTW

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Shed End but I disagree with you there Guardiola is a good manager but Jose in my opinion is much much better he creates success wherever he goes. Until Guardiola gambles at another club and is successful can we then compare him to
Mourinho.

If recent quotes attributed to mourinho are correct then he intends to sign a new contract at madrid.

1. Revolution: Don't get this as other teams go through transition just fine and without even anyone realising it. The issue is that we don't have good young talent
2. Manager: We need a manager with authority and at the same time good vision of where football is heading. Don't believe in old recipes or copying Barcelona as this is just a static view of things.
3. Judging from what I have seen in the past few weeks there are other problems in the club besides the players and the manager. We don't seem to be able to bring world class talent through and those who make bad big decisions are not accountable.
4. Current team is not good enough to compete at the top level. Sturridge is overrated, Ramirez's control is awful, Torres well what can I say, Lampard has passed it and he thinks he has the devine right to play every match etc. Only Mata floats.
5.The behaviour of the club both on the pitch and management is off-putting for top people to join. This is going to be our downfall.
6. I expect the club to be sold in the next couple of years or once Roman sees he cannot realise his obsession with winning everything just because he pays for it.
7. No I don't believe what is happening is a temporary glitch. It is the start of something bigger and far worse.

ED If Chelsea don't make CL next season and spend big amounts on players this summer and make the CL 13/14 next season would that spending violate the financial fair play rules for the CL 13/14 season?
