Benteke has submitted a transfer request!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hey guys just wanted to get your thought, top strikers moving quickly and would like to see us get settled quickly without wasting money. Why not get Jovetic and Remy for total of 35 mil, two proven scorers who add something different and could both play off Lukaku if needed. Selling Torres and Ba it would cost us only apprx 12-15 mil for those two when all said and done. That way we can go focus on wrapping up defensive midfield and a centre back. Would like to see Mangala and Kondogbia and De Rossi. Would cost apprx 40. If we factor in Mikel sale of 16 mil it gives us a transfer window of ( Jovetic, Remy, Schurlle, Van Ginkel, Mangala, Kondogbia and DeRosi for a total of apprx 68mil without any other sales or loans. Not a bad window at all and still could add youthfull prospects like Brown and Bruma for our future. Your thoughts.

As we had a bid turn down already, or do u reckon it will go tribunal if they can't agree a free?

Cheers bud

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We already have him as he is so young he was able to sign for us, we just have to agree compensation, if not it will go to a tribunal.

Really hope there is some truth behind the story out today ref Higuain to Arsenal falling through. We could probably get him and Benteka for the price of Cavani. Then we will have 3 top draw strikers, Nando excluded!

Norwich turn down another bid from Chelsea for Ruddy, Hughton will not break like past managers, If you want Ruddy just to keep the bench warm It will cost around £15mil just to get to have his gloves.

De Rossi is 31 this month and is on high wages - I think the money could be spent better on another player. There are plenty of quality defensive midfielders out there. Buying De Rossi contravenes Chelsea's philosophy in buying young, quality players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You've aged him by a year! ;) Seriously though, if he were to join and Mikel/Romeu do go it would be a fantastic signing IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong! He turns 30 this month and will be a quality buy!

Agree0 Disagree0

KONDOGBIAAAAAA

Agree0 Disagree0

You need experience too. Would you take Pirlo? He would improve any team despite his age.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need Kondogbia anymore we have Van Ginkel and Chalobah for the future. De Rossi would be class for our team right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

My thing with kondogbia is while he would be a great signing he's very young and I'm not sure he's ready to be a first team regular yet which puts him in a crowded spot including van ginkel, chalobah, McEachran, and many more starting to get there.

I really hope van ginkel gets a chance in the first team this year the kid looks class & with the 3 amigos + schurrle & lukaku. we will be dominant!

What of De bruyne annoying how most peeps forget him. I think he is going to be a really great player and glad he is staying with us.

-BLUERAY-

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly what of De bruyne, I would rather him go back out on loan for another season than him sitting on the bench or in the reserves! too good for that

Agree0 Disagree0

Mourinho is a genius a jiggering players, giving all game time. There was never a problem from 04 to 07. Schurrle and hazard, de bruyne amd mata. Oscar ain't a winger, marins on loan, and Moses will be sold. Plenty of room.

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't sit on the bench or reserves he will play more games than moses did last season

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you part of the coaching staff at chelsea then Cali? Do you know who is going to be on the team sheet? mata "aint" a winger either

The idea of Benteke and Lukaku as strikers is a great one for me, that's like having 2 quicker Drogba's if they reach their potential plus to score 15+ goals apiece in average teams imagine what they will do with Mazacar behind them! At the same time, I'd be tempted to trial Schrlle as a sole striker as his best scoring season (at 19?) he played as a central striker in a very average team again. I still think he has the ability to be a Reus-esque player.
Either way I am still disappointed we aren't getting Cavani or Falcao but the fact they have gone to a ligue 1 team apiece which will be contested by their teams next year just shows how fixated on wages they both were.
Keep the faith guys, I see 5 more signings: A new backup GK (Ruddy), a RW (Bruma), a new CB (Ilori?), a new DM (De Rossi) and this striker (I am swayed towards asking for Muriel or Benteke).
COYB!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree! But we do need more than two. I would go for bony aswell.

Alright guys/Ed's

Tickets for Hull were meant to go on sale to members today but now they're awaiting the TV schedule before they go back on sale, anyone know when that will be or the new sale date?

Can't wait for the first game of the season, atmosphere should be buzzing with JM back!

Hi ed what is the likelyhood of us making a bid (and winning) for Suarez also I think a centre back along with Shaw would be much needed can u give me your opinion on what centre back could be a target? thanks.

I'll really be excited if we sign Benteke. Him and Lukaku with Schurrle as cover is adequate for us. We'll have the two best young strikers in world football. Falcao, Lewy and Cavani won't score 17 or 19 goals for West Brom or Villa, Lukaku playing mostly from the bench. No need to waste ridiculous fees and wages on those money grabbers!

I'm going to be honest in saying that I will feel physically sick if we lose out on Falcao, Cavani and Lewandowski - which is looking more and more likely by the day. It was so obvious that a top class striker was what we were missing last season. We would have challenged for the League and Champs League. If we had Cavani next season he would score 25+ goals in the prem alone. Also getting frustrated with people now defending Torres and saying he is the right man to lead the line next season. NO! People will say that he had a brilliant confed cup, but he had a better Euro 2012 and was still awful for us during large chunks of last season. His hold up play has also been dreadful. Anyone who wants to put him on the bench as well has lost their minds and clearly don't understand the wages he is on and how much he is costing the club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We were always going to miss out on Lewandowski as we aren't called Bayern Munich and Falcao appears to be chasing the tax free cash in Monaco, so of the three you mentioned, only Cavani was really a possibility anyway.

Personally, I think with the added quality depth in midfield and Lukaku returning, we'll be fine for the upcoming season offensively.

Don't u think Lukaku and possibly Benteke can score 20 goals at Chelsea each? I don't want any striker above 0525m at Chelsea, at least for now. I'll be exceedingly happy with Lukaku and Benteke with Schurlle also capable of leading the line. What we need more than just a striker is a proper DM. U can be sick to death for all I care.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love to see benteke at Chelsea, he is an absolute beast in the Air, I remember watching him on MoTD and he won almost every header he went for, as well as his incredible eye for goal.

I just wonder what Jose is thinking at the moment. ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lukaku is still young, banking on him delivering for us this season is a real risk.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has no one considered that Benteke and Lukaku are currently fighting eachother for Belgiums first choice striker position? Think it's logical, in a world cup year, that those two would want to be at the same club?

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to realise that it is not fair to rely on Lukaku leading the line for Chelsea at his age. Benteke would be east though, but only concern is second season syndrome for him.

PSG are 10m short of cavani's buy out clause apparently. We all know Napoli are an absolute nightmare to deal with. Yes they are talking but let's be honest, apparently we've been talking to his reps as well. I personally think we need to offer what they want. They know we need him, let's be honest he can't do any worse that Torres. And with the FFP coming in, itll be our last chance to sign someone of real quality before the not rights at FIFA start throwing there wait around.

If we turnover and let them take him. Who's next for us?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sure how u know this since everyone's been reporting the past 3 days that PSG have met the release and agreed personal terms with Cavani already. Anyway I don't believe any of these rubbish papers this time of year but I will say to your point of us just paying the full release clause I think we should only do that if Cavani comes out and says he wants or prefers Chelsea. If he wants to play under Ibra's shadow then let him go to PSG.

Stop whining about Cavani, he has gone to PSG.
Do you remember the Robinho chase? Look what he turned out to in Man c. and AC mian; where is he now. ?
Do you remember the Sanchez chase? Look what he also turned to in Barca; not doing great.
So forget Neymar, Falcao and Cavani.
We don't need another 50 million dump in Chelsea; so wasteful.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not whining, but with all those players gone perhaps you will say who the targets are now then.

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Dave, we'll be left chasing players like rooney.

So let's hope it doesn't come to that!

53m for Cavani is not bad concidering what we paid for Torres, It's highly unlikely someone that good would flop in the prem. Anyway it's Roman's money not mine, and it's not like we can't afford him! Sign him up before PSG do!

Why Psg for god sake its France don't these players have ambition premier league best strongest fastest league in the world, do u no what cavani ' jog on'. Chelsea Fc play for shirt deserve to wear it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

PSG is now wealthy club with ambition. Before Roman Abramovich era Chelsea was not considered big club. Also do not forget PSG is only club from Paris with 12 000000 population.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't that long ago we were THAT club. Convincing players to switch allegiance based on the depth of our owners pockets. Do you think Crespo, Veron, Mutu, Makalele and Duff all moved because they were desperate to play for Chelsea? They saw an owner with ambition and the ability to pay them over the odds for their service. The same thing is happening in France right now, but on an even greater scale. The French league may not be the strongest, but PSG are offering a genuine chance at winning the Champions League. I'm not saying that he would prefer to play there over us, but one thing is for sure, they harbour the same ambitions as we do, are willing to meet Napoli's valuation and pay the man. It is incredibly naive to think that every player who turns up at Stamford Bridge beating will be his chest to the Chelsea drum as he walks through the door. Players are commodities and while some do show genuine passion and loyalty whilst playing for their clubs, initially they all play for the highest bidder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Since when has Cavani openly said he wants to go to Paris?

PSG want him, there's a difference. Hopefully Chelsea can match PSG so he's given the choice between clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue25
We were that club in a way, but don't forget we were in the Premier league. The french championship is not competitive compared to England, Germany, Spain, Italy and even Portugal.
If he joins PSG he will have sold out. Plain and simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

I appreciate that the ligue 1 is not at the same level in terms of quality, competition or exposure as the Premier League or others in Europe. My point was that PSG harbour the same ambitions as us in Europe. They are spending with a desire to seriously challenge in the Champions League, which they did last year, and it can be assumed they will again this year. You can throw terms like 'sell out' about all you want, but fact of the matter is, he will end up at the club willing to meet Napoli's fee and his salary expectations. If Chelsea is not that club then fine, but whatever you may think of French football, you cannot say that PSG are not an ambitious club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm assuming the nameless post was also yours Blue25. Well put mate. If Cavani goes to PSG there shouldn't be negative words said about either party. They are ambitious and have financial muscle and CL football.

While a lot of posters are moaning on (and previous too) the 8th of July that we won't be able to sign anyone talented by 12 pm on the 31st of August, I am pretty confident we will sign a talented striker. All Cavani and Falcao should show you is that we will not pay ridiculous sums of money for players. We will not go above our valuation. We are still prepared to go for the creme of the crop, but we will not be taken for a ride.

As people have mentioned we have some incredible attacking talent already in midfield, so we can still easily win the league with an upgrade on Torres and/or Ba, Lukaku and at worst Schurrle for depth. Think of that as well. It is the 8th of July and we have already signed Schurrle and Van Ginkel.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was me responding, didn't notice I'd been logged out. I could understand if he was going Anzi, Monaco or Zenit people questioning his ambition, but it seems unfair considering how PSG are now set up.

Honestly, this transfer was always going to drag out with snippets of information being leaked by interested parties. He's a very good player, but as you say Melbourne, it is reassuring to see the club standing firm on their valuation. I am confident we will bring in the right players over the course of the summer. Player recruitment over the last two years has been first class.

If Cavani is gone to PSG both them and Napoli are taking their time to officially announce even agreeing on a fee. Oh well, I guess Napoli likes to take things slow.
