ED002 Rafa Benitez said yesterday Micheal Emalano has spoken to him about January's targets do you know if Benitez has recommended that we look to sign a certain player? Or has he had no say? {Ed002's Note - He will have an input to the process.}

I'm not being hasty but do we really need to be spending 50 million on Falcao/Cavani when we've got Torres on form. Yes, I understand we need a world class striker to rotate with the amount of games but why not go for someone who is close to their contract and still world class like Lewandowski or Llorente I would personally go for Llorente to offer us something different if he comes on.

And why on earth does everyone want wildfire Bony he blows hot and cold he's just another Kalou why not just recall Lukaku then we have 3 great strikers:

Torres
Llorente
Lukaku

The position which I think does need spending on is the midfield whether Fellaini is attacking or not he is a ballwinner which we haven't had since Ballack. Then play Mata and Hazard either side of him then you've got height and creativity and Fellaini loves to track back which will help out the defence.

January Ins:

Llorente
Fellaini
Wallace

Out:

Hilario
Ferreira
Malouda
Sturridge

My XI:

Cech

Azpilicueta Ivanovic Terry A.Cole

Ramires Romeu

Hazard Fellaini Mata

Torres

Subs: Turnball, Cahill, Luiz, Mikel, Oscar, Moses, Llorente

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Couldnt agree more mate I'd just swap Luiz with Romeu in centre mid because he would be better there

Bencfc

Agree4 Disagree3

Why on earth would you buy Fellani when we got Moses, Oscar, Mata, Marin, Hazard and only 3 spots to fill and they even play bertrand on the wing for some reason... And if we buy Llorente i can guarantee you that Torres wil be sitting on the bench.
And no Luiz is not a defensive midfielder so stop insist he needs to play there, there is a reason why none of our manager has ever played him there.

Agree2 Disagree2

no ones tried him there except Benitez for 15 mins against njorsaelland and he was good.

Do you see a ballwinner who can win headers from goal kicks in the side because mata, Marin, Oscar and Hazard arent tall or strong enough

Agree0 Disagree2

How do you know he played him in the pivot? to me it looked more like he was a CAM since you didnt notice they were pushed so far back the last 15min that everyone was attacking even one of the center backs aswell.
There is a difference between playing against a team where you gotta defend the last 15min we played like
1-1-8, so NO he has never been played in a defensive midfield role before.

Torres is some player.Since he scored them 2 goals in the CL l am 9.

I hope Torres continues scoring, as I wouldn't want another 50 million pounds striker. Bony and Lukaku plus Torres will be ok by me. A midfield general is ver vital in January.
Judith.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Mate bony's crap you ever seen him play?

Llorente is what we need to rotate with Torres and Fellaini

Agree3 Disagree2

Oh yeah i would hate to have another 50m striker. Dont want too much quality...

Bony's not crap. He'll be better with us.

Funny how Torres has been slated and he has two goals less then van Persie

Believable4 Unbelievable3

08 Dec 2012 18:26:48
He's been slated for the multiple chances missed and the way he plays atimes like he doesn't care. If he converts so often, he'll top the score chat and the Manc will be chasing. It's obvious that he seems happier with Rafa.

Great win, a morale boosting one.Torres,Hazard,Mata,Ramires,Liuz were brilliant.Though Cole looks a bit shaky at times and he really needs to tighten up.A player of his caliber should be more alert. Rafa has got the team playing to a shape and a system which is crucial when we are defending under pressure.Hope he never uses Bertrand as a substitute again.I think he brought him on to negate Johnson.Would have loved to see Marin, hope he plays the full time against Leeds and hopefully Romeu's injury isn't too serious and he returns quickly.Looking forward to see Lamps and Marin play.

Torres vs Falcao this season so far: 11 goals, 1 penalty vs 14 goals, 5 penalties.

Falcao who?

ai_men

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Falcao gets a hell of a lot less chances compared to FT9!

Agree3 Disagree2

Falcao is now a better player than Torres unfortunately. Look at his three goals against us in the supercup - Torres wouldn't have finished one.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Dec 2012 17:17:12
Now Torres seems to be enjoying his football and his confidence is back and most of all scoring how does this affect the new striker situation in January? IMO I think Torres is world class when he's on form and there's noone that could stop him. If he keeps scoring he needs to be retained at all costs! We could still do with falcoa to play at side of Torres. The futures bright the futures blue

Believable2 Unbelievable1

That doesn't change the fact that we need two more strikers to take us through all the competitions. Proitos

I still think Azpil should of played right back rather than Ivan, as Azpil is quick and would make the defence look lot better.

Great performance up until putting Bertrand on, this substitution never works and just makes us lose our shape and allows teams on.
Really happy we won in the league finally but better teams will take advantage of that awful substitution.

Oh yes, brilliant by Fernando Torres, now to top it off, he needs to get a hatrick,

4 goals in 1 and a half games will be a real confidence booster,

Come On Chelsea !

how many penalty takers do we have?
hazard, mata, luiz, lampard and now torres

Jordan

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Tbh i dont like Hazard taking them we need someone who can shoot the ball very hard and close to either pool, that is why Lampard and Balotelli is so sucessful with penalties that the goalkeeper is pretty much unable to reach it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Hazard was the penalty taker at Lille and he did a good job and n Chelsea he has just miss one so don't go so hard on him, but yeah I like the players who shoot hard to take the penalties like Diego Milito, but hey CR7 shoots hard sometimes and others he just put it smoothly a variety of options is good for penalty takers.

Agree3 Disagree0

Hazards penalty vs newcastle was hard and right in the corner

Agree2 Disagree0

Hazard's penalty miss midweek was the first miss from the spot in his career ! Not exactly a poor penalty taker.

15 min gone should be 4-0 but Torres has got a goal, we need a good lead and guard against complacently, I got bet 4-0 Torres Hatrick so fingers crossed for me and Torres
