Willian. Any one like the way he plays? He frustrates me so much. Don't get me wrong his work rate fantastic. But he never seems to use his pace going forward. Or some of the movement he makes just closed his team mates down.

Most of the time he completely kills the tempo, Would put Schurrle ahead of him for the RAM spot. Thought Oscar looked class tonight and Costa scored a cracker!

Youre right, I've said it last season aswell. Willian is really crappy going forward, not only does he not use his speed and stamina optimal. He does basicly have no off-ball movement at all which is a necessity for any attacking player especially wingers to open up the defense. there's a reason we look much better attacking when he ain't on the pitch.
Personally I see the Willian's transfer as a major flop, a 25year old for 30mil you expect top class player but loads of player worth half that has performed much better than he has. Imagine we could have bought one of Reus, Griezmann, Navas, Schanzes, Vela etc for around the same money or less.

I think willain is great just needs alittle more time my opinion

Thinking about it he never makes any dangerous off the ball runs and gets better of his man gets space and passes never really runs at defenders, but I do like him, works hard and is always available, just needs his goals/assists to improve but that may come with time.

I would much more prefer to have Kdb or mata over willian. But I guess this is the season we will see what he can do

I'm actually quite excited to see what he can do this season maybe he just needed that one season to get used to how football is played over here, I did see some class moments from him last year!

Willian should play right midfielder. Salah is far,far better on the left.

What a goal by Costa, world class!

What I don't get we didn't see this at the world cup. then everyone was saying he's rubbish.
I bet they have changed his mind! Lol

I don't think he was fully fit and Spain's style of play doesn't suit Costa. That tackle by Bruno Alves was an absolute shocker he should have been sent off friendly or not. Schurrle has to start more matches, his work rate is second to none and he increases the tempo everytime he gets the ball which is what Chelsea need.

To be honest I thought tht team we started first game I'd be happy first match of the season but cech out courtios in.goal.

I like rami energy but I'd prefer Oscar skill passing n finishing.

The defence we had last season was solid but I would much prefer natural sided fullbacks to help create some width. Looking promising though can't wait for the season to start.

Think that's a bit harsh ED008, Oscar has scored some cracking goals we just don't see it often enough. A bit like Hazard I guess. Still remember Oscar's Champions league debut, think it was also his full debut, when he scored two amazing goals. Think the lack of goals in midfield is partly due to our lack of a decent striker as if a striker were to score early on a team can't just sit deep and frustrate us as they often did last year. Costa is looking great though so hopefully he'll be the answer.

{Ed008's Note - I was there on his CL Debut against Juventus both well taken goals but last season he was very inconsistent he didn't raise his game like Hazard did and pressure Jose put on looks like he deal with it well. I wonder if Jose thinks Oscar can play deeper in midfield similar to how Fabregas has been playing linklinking midfield to attack I don't think the Attacking Midfield role suits him at all.

That's the issue at the moment he's too inconsistent. At the start of the season I thought he was our best player but then he dropped off. Not sure whether that was because he had one eye on the WC or Mata's departure meant he had no competition. I think he's best when he's played deeper as well, I think he plays slightly deeper for Brazil, although at the World Cup Scolari played him wide, no idea why. I see Jose playing 4-3-3 with Matic holding then Fabregas and Oscar in front so more of a 4-1-2-3, I could see that working well with our wingers. Should be a bit more creative too.

Can you imagine guys what kinda nd of team we would haved now if 3 attacking players would have been mata hazzard and oscar/schurle with striker who can take his chances and tactics which doesn't force our AM's to run back
