A lot of talk on here about the merits of Lukaku or Morata. I personally think we will sign them both to replace Costa and Batsy. Next Season we will need 2 top strikers with all the games. Would be nice if Traore comes back as well. Abrahams needs 1 more season on loan.

I agree. wouldn't be surprised if we signed both Lukaku and Morata. Costa looks to be off and Conte clearly doesn't fancy Batshuayi. We definitely need 3 first team strikers next year as we'll have more games and Conte will want to have the option of starting two up top. Think Traore is ready to be back in the squad but Tammy would be better served by another loan. He needs to get as much minutes as possible.

I think tammy is better equipped that traore with the season in the league he's been in to the terrible league traore has been in tho he has impressed just think tammy is better my opinion.

I am much more worried are we going to keep Hazard and Courtois. Costa seems to be heading to China. We will not have Terry and Ivanovic next season so we need to invest a lot this summer.

Guys, the club and Conte have a difficult balance to make for next season.
Sure we require some quality players for next season. Some will be to replace the leavers and being in the Champions league but we also want to give a very talented bunch of youngsters a chance.

Does anyone actually rate Nemandja Matic? He's class about 20% of the time but 80 % of the time he's just so damn average. Yeah he's decent defense wise but I'd rather Mikel in the side if that's all he does.

We really need to strengthen the midfield in the summer. fabregas is a player that i feel has to play, however he can't play a 2 with Kante so he either has to be inverted forward, or a 3 in midfield with a midfield enforcer.

I like both Pedro and Willian and think they deserve game time so I feel just a quality midfielder is what we really need along with a striker and other areas.

Central mid is a place we can improve on, but for me Fab is not the answer and Matic, whilst flawed is a better option in most games.

We're clearly looking at other options. But Bakayoko is young and I'd expect Matic to play a lot next season if we get him.

I agree about matic I don't Rate him his second touch is a tackle.

I honestly don't believe we would be in the position we are in without Matic. He doesn't do anything pretty or eye catching, but if fabregas had played more instead of matic we would have lost a few more games. Be careful what you wish for guys.

I think keeping our formation that we need to add a player who chips in with a few goals as well as being solid. Naingollan would be perfect.

I agree about naingollin he is box to box similar to Vidal, I don't really get matic he isn't a disciplined number 6 defenceive midfielder who sits in front of the defence and dictates the play and stops attacks by positional intelligence, but on the other hand he isn't box to box and chips in with 10 goals and 10 asssits a season, he isn't great in possesion that knocks it around, and is not competent on the ball, he's not great in All honestly, he wouldn't get in a lot of the better teams in Europe, I find it depressing when Cahill plays left cb with matic in front it's so slow so robotic it's not good, Cahill will receive the ball have 50 yards of space, so he starts panicking looks left looks right then passes back to the keeper and matic ain't much better in front of him it's the area of the pitch that needs improving, especially when we are in possession, all the other top teams in Europe have midfielders who can pass forward to name a few - matudi and Verratti both good with or without the ball, Thiago and xabi Alonso, busquets and inesta, Kroos and modric, there a few more pairings around Europe as well, they all want the ball, matic and Cahill are our weakest links!

I would steer clear of naingollan. His smoking and drinking habits put all of the worst PL examples to shame. He would not adapt to the faster pace of the PL at all. I know it was only in the newspaper and there's not likely any interest but I'd go for Naby Keita personally if we couldn't get Verratti, who would be my first choice.

Bobby, I agree we might not be where we are if we didn't have Matic due to his height and positionin defensive wise.

But what I was saying is that we could improve on him with a player that has similar defensive skills, but is better in the other aspects going forward.

I think he's far more suited to be at the base of a midfield 3 and Kante likely papers over a number of cracks. As others have said, I would love a player next to Kante with a good deal of mobility also. Vidal and Naingolan would obviously be lovely in the short term but I would absolutely love us to target Naby Keita as fuser suggested. I brought his name up this winter and got ripped for it but he's starting to be linked with elite teams as he's been a revelation in his first season in a major league. Really hopeful we go for him.
