Would Fabregas be considered a homegrown player because of his time at Arsenal?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - yes}

07 Jun 2014 21:35:22
Ed002 any change in the fabregas situation it is it as it was?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed this evening.}

So when Luke Shaw was asked who the toughest opponent he has come up against was, his answer was:
"Victor Moses"

Interesting choice.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe not ready for europes finest then, maybe utd best place for him

Chelsea are doing the right thing not paying 30 million for shaw.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2014 19:37:32
Chelsea are not doing the right thing if they buy Felipe Luis for whatever the price is. He's 28 and will be average in 2, max 3, years time. I know some people don't support the shaw purchase (I'm all for it) but Felipe Luis makes the least sense of anything we've been linked with this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I would love to see Shaw join, but the reported £30m quoted is absolutely ridiculous. Filipe Luis was probably the best left back in Europe last season and is in his peak at 28. He will also cost significantly less than Shaw.

Agree0 Disagree0

£30m for a player who is not actually that good and like all English young players has all this hype. He is average going forward and not very good defending, yes his young and yes will improve but the lad needs to stay at saints for another 2 years before he or anyone else thinks about playing for tge big boys

Agree0 Disagree0

"Not that good"
If you honestly believe that then you know nothing about football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not that good. Maybe exaggeration but he is so overrated, so much hype because his English

He is 18 and has had a fantastic first season in the premier league so I am definitely excited to see how he develops. Taking a 30 million pound gamble on a player with one good season behind him is a hard decision to make although Chelsea do seem to take a lot of 'calculated' gambles.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2014 08:33:23
He is over rated. We sold Sturridge for less. Playing heavy football so young means one thing. Injury ridden career. 80 percent chance any way.

Agree0 Disagree0

Luke Shaw isn't left back by default. He is much more left midfielder. No matter what are you saying guys I still think he must be Chelsea's number one target.
1.He is only 18.
2.He is very talented which makes him great prospect.
3.He is Chelsea fan for life which is extremely important reason why Chelsea must sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2014 13:33:41
Lukaku is a Chelsea fan and look at his attitude towards the club. Shaw isn't worth 30 million. We got azpilicueta for what 7 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nkch, I support Chelsea, does that mean they're going to sign me mate? I hope they would.

But, seriously, Luke Shaw should be our number 1 left back target, however as Ed has stated, Southampton's valuation of him is greater than Chelsea's, so, the club must then look to other targets and I would be pleased if we got Felipe Luis instead, even though I think Shaw is a better option.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2014 15:16:54
If its about being a fan of the club, being young and having potential (well something close to it) maybe they should sign me right up. I love the club, i'm 21 still reasonably young and I am a decent player. I would be great. Hey come on guys I promise I won't let the jersey down, a 110 percent every week. What do you say? Ed do you think the club have an interest in me? :)

08 Jun 2014 16:04:43
I'm very curious with people saying he's subpar when he was in the players team of the year over baines and shaw. But hey I'm sure that's a farce too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign Eli, cheaper homegrown, good attitude ( sometimes) bags of confidence.

:D, thanks for the shout Matt, you have a great eye for talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Best we sign you Eli as I'm sick of rumours of Eli and hulk to chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

Why don't we for once give van anholt a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure ELI, that why you play for England at WC. And he was picked by very young, non conservitive national team coach with lack of expirience.

Pls ed thanks for all your effort. Apart from Costa which other striker is Chelsea planning to get? Again do you still think lukaku will remain at Chelsea next season? Thanks in advance

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have never said anything about Lukaku like that - read the posts or use the search function please.}

Excuse spelling, think names mentioned before
Iturbe, cavani, costa, aubameyang, lavezzi.cerci, falcao, Callejon,

Hi Ed hope all is well,

was just wondering if you could give us a summary of the current interest in our players?

thanks a lot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not providing any more summaries on the Chelsea page. Sorry.}

Lukaku's biggest enemy continues to be himself!

Moaning about the strikers that Chelsea keep bringing in; does he think he's at the point in his career where he is going to be named the main man at a club like Chelsea without having to compete for it?

The ironic thing is that if he would have backed himself, and his ability, against that of Torres and Eto'o last year then he'd have probably won that battle and by the end of the season he'd have been the main man. Instead he opted to go out on loan and had, what I would only describe as, an average season at a club where he was the undoubted number one striker.

I think his attitude has been awful and it's time for him to move on.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more, I find it childish how he moans about not being number one In our team, he has to understand a team as great as the blues is always going to have strong competition for each position, but to publically criticize us for improving our team is foolish, and I am looking forward to seeing him leave with such a poor attitude.

Glad i'm not alone on this. He should listen to Torres' recent interview on the signing of Costa. Nothing comes easy, if he's good enough he should put his head down and prove it on the pitch not mouthing off. Drogba showed his class he proved how good he was he wanted Shevchenko to sign and also wanted Torres to come stating the competition would bring the best out of him and also would be great for the club. People compare Lukaku to Drogba but his attitude reminds me more of Adebayor. He obviously thinks he's better than he is and is really getting ahead of himself. Think its best if he leaves, and the money is spent on another striker who isn't afraid of competition for his spot.

That's it! Jose and the board got it right. I was upset when ed002 said lukaku was leaving. But its now beyond repair. This guy has got a mouth bigger than his talent. I certainly would miss his talent. But I can't stand his nonsense attitude. Better to sell him off and get mandzukic.
This is ed has been saying indirectly. Attitude overshadowing his talent.
Bye bye romelu! Find a big club who will take your shit. Chelsea is not that club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree J. Last season was probably Lukaku's best chance to gain a starting place in the Chelsea line-up with his competition being a crocked Torres and a 35 year old who'd spent the last 3 years playing in Russia.
It was always obvious that we were going to refresh our forward line this summer. If he had stayed and become our number one, JM would have had a tougher choice about who to start between Lukaku and Costa.
He seems to be so arrogant about his ability, that he thinks he should be the main striker and yet doesn't seem to think that he'd beat Costa to it. If he stayed I would envision him possibly even starting the first few games to allow Costa, and whoever else we brought in, time to settle in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes most likely said these thing of a late because the club have most likely told him they don't want him back. All he's doing is having a little dig at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He has know for five months that the club wanted him out.}

Is he really that good though? We'll see World Cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

Understand they have been telling him he's not wanted but u said there was an ex player trying to sort it. I just thought it may off just hit home.

I replied to a post here earlier where some poster wanted Lukaku gone. The thread is now deleted. Was my response offensive or abusive in any way? I only defended Lukaku and expressed my view. Is that too not allowed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I can't se the post but I imagine one of the other Eds got pissed off with you continuing to troll the site of a club you don't support.}

07 Jun 2014 11:41:51
Oh that must be me, obviously this isn't your page cause if was you would know most of us including me have supported Lukaku and hoped he got a clean slate but he just keeps making a butt of himself. Again a ridiculous comment cause we are going to bring in another striker? He isn't even willing to fight for his spot in the team. I'm sorry but if he thinks he's so great and deserves an automatic playing spot, the dude is being disrespectful to my club with his childish antics so I very well can tell him where to go but i'll save Ed the trouble of editing my post.

P.S. I'm not some poster fella, I'm ELI. Have yourself a good weekend.

Pls ed sorry to bother you, up till now do you still think we will be getting fabregas? Will appreciate your answer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

07 Jun 2014 05:19:23
Dear ed, would you agree that 32m pounds is a bargain deal for someone like costa(if that's what he has on his buy-out clause). I read yesterday about him rejecting a new deal at athletico with a higher buy-out clause. Are you aware of it?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing money.}

06 Jun 2014 20:52:30
Hi Ed,

With the club looking to add at least 2 strikers, and Costa seemingly nailed on, where is the interest for the 2nd one?

Cavani looks to be staying. Understandably no big money deal would occur for Falcao straight after his injury. Immobile gone to BVB, Lukaku seemingly off, Martinez looks to be a non-goer and Mandzukic apparently not highly prioritized.

I know there is interest in Lavezzi but, let's be honest, he isn't going to start up top. Is Aubemeyang a real possibilty? I can't see that happening myself. I'm not sure if I've missed anyone Ed, but if you can give us an update on who the club are looking at at this time, that would be appreciated. It just seems a lot of our targets and potential targets have been ruled out for one reason or another.

Thanks as always

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is no change from what was said before other than Immobile really.}

We must have more striker support lined up beyond Costa. Pity that Lukaku has seemingly self-destroyed own chances of being this as could have had real prospects of being no. 1 in longer term.
