Was at the game yesterday evening. Overall it was quite rubbish but on a positive note, Rudiger was very solid and is a fantastic buy and Willian was our best player. Even though Willian was our best player he still ran around a lot, was involved in a lot but went nowhere and had no end product. I like Willian but he needs to move on somewhere else for him, he's too good to sit on our bench.

I agree Rudiger had a very good game. He is a very good signing. Not sure why Conte stucks with Cahill in big games. Rudiger offers more in defence and attack.

If I had my way and was able to spend big in the summer this would be my team: thoughts?

Azpi Christensen NEW CB
Florenzi Kante NEW CM/ Bakayoko Sandro
Hazard
Morata Cavani

I chose cavani as he's a solid striker who knows where the goal is, Morata is great in the ball just not great at finishing. I think that partner ship would be deadly
I'd give Bakayoko till the end of the season before making a full decision however currentlty he's not good enough
Alonso has performed very well for us but Sandro is world class and would bolster our defence massively
Florenzi is just an example, could be anyone in that position, just someone better than Moses. And I think florenzi would suit contes style
Cahill has been solid but we need another cb, to add to our defence along side Christensen and azpi.

We need a left footed CB to give us balance building from the back. Too often the RCB has to pass back inside instead of forwards. Having Azpi-esque crosses coming from the left aswell would give Morata twice as much ammunition and would be twice as hard for opposition to shut down.

we have one in ALONSO if we sign a LWB. I'm pretty sure is was originally signed to play there.

Zappacosta: not good enough

Drinkwater : decent backup
Bakayoko : undecided, currently poor but needs time
Kante : word class
Barkley : good transfer
Morata : good but not class
Hazard : world class
Batshuayi : average
Willian : good
Pedro : sometimes good sometimes average.

I think zappacosta could be decent . Alonso got slated at first. give people a chance (season to settle) .
zappa has good pace for a rwb and a good shot. he will get better.

I said it in the summer and I'm saying it again now. We have signed average players, and are continuing to sign average players. Rudiger, Zappacosta, Drinkwater - way too much money for each player and bar Drinkwater (who's a decent backup) they are not good enough for Chelsea standard. I feel as though our standards are dropping and we are filling our squad with average players rather than more class players like hazard and Kante etc. Although Barkley for £15million is a good deal. I would have much preferred a better, proven attacking midfielder who would cost a lot but is on the same level as hazard.
