Ed Uefa seem to of put there foot down with the FFP City and PSG getting hit hard with fines and squad restrictions I know they will likely both appeal but should they loose the fines and sanctions will likely increase, I may be wrong but with the tax laws the way they are in France I can't see how PSG will be able to continue in the manner they have just wondering in your opinion could this maybe force City and PSG to sell some star players to get there clubs in order?

{Ed002's Note - That is not how the process works. One club is trying to negotiate an acceptable deal, the other will start trying soon.}

Hi Ed, will the rules regarding home grown players influence our transfer plans this summer and are we looking at any home grown players?

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Darlow and Barkley as has been explained.}

PSG may be in bit of bother. Hopefully now we go in hard for cavani and Lavezzi. raid PSG before UTD Etc do

Believable0 Unbelievable0

PSG badly wants Hazard, but they can't simply by him from Chelsea.
They're forced to swap player plus cash or even 2 players for one.
Beware, Cavani was promised to play one of two strikers in 442 formation. It didn't happen so he wants to quit PSG-that means he will demand the same from Chelsea.

I don't think we need Lavezzi. He's'not an out an out striker and he doesn't necessarily improve the squad in anyway. I think we should get Costa/Cavani/Falcao and a younger striker like the mould of Jay Rodriguez and then go all out for Barkley, how he's not a top priority signing is beyond me hopefully the club would go all blazing for him this summer.
P.S. Don't care if psg gave us 7 of their players for Hazard. We cannot afford to let him go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Last year I wanted us to go for Pierre Aubameyang. He's had a pretty decent season at BVB scoring 13 in 31 appearances. His pace is also electric. It's unlikely though that he'll move this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

ELI, Cavani is Cavani! Chelsea has enough wingers to replace Hazard. IMO Hazard isn't JM's physical type of player.
But I will repeat again Barkley in no matter the price.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - we don't currently have anyone capable of replacing Hazard on the team right now}

I don't think we should offload Hazard at any price. Whilst I'd hope Oscar regains form and lives up to his potential, what would people and ed018 think about selling him, moving Willian into the no10 role and buying Reus to play on the wing?
Could possibly fit in with a 4-3-3 too. Hazard, Cavani/Costa, Reus
Willian, Matic, Ramires/MVG.

Agree0 Disagree0

Saying we have enough wingers to replace Hazard is like saying Tottenham had enough creative midfielders to replace Bale. Just no.
We have lots of wingers, but none anywhere near the level of Hazard, and none with the potential that Hazard has. He may not be Mourinho's "type of player" but he's surely the type of player any manager would want to manage, and saying we could or should get rid is absolutely ludicrous.

I'm using a mobile 2 access dis site and as such cannot use d search as often indtructed by d EDs. Pls ED, do we have preference among our striker targets? Falcao is barely mentioned on here unlike d other 2. I personally prefer Falcao and Costa to having Cavani and Costa. Falcao is a more rounded and far more dangerous around d box than d others. Again do we plan 2 move Mikel on dis summer? Tnx

Was at the game last night and just wanted to see what others thought of the quality of our youngsters.

The player I was most impressed with had to be Solanke, he was involved in both first half goals, as well as scoring the final two (the second was a lovely composed finish given the circumstances), physically he looks great, strong, fast and tall enough to challenge airily. For a 16 year old he did not look out of place playing with and against boys up to two years older than him and I believe he has even appeared for the U21s this season.

Charly Musonda also impressed on the night. Throughout the first half it was clear he was the desired outlet, players looking to find him as often as possible, and while his end product was not always fantastic he caused the Fulham defense enough of a problem for them to double team him on more than one occasion in the second half. Physically he will need to develop as he looked slight even compared to those around him, and he fell over himself a couple of times, but a bright talent none the less. Only 16, and started the game Vs Man C midweek, very impressive.

Izzy Brown only played one half of the game (potentially due to playing in the U21s midweek) but his arrival after half time was a much needed boost to the attacking threat. Although it took a few minutes for him to get involved when he did get into the game he showed his quality, holding up the ball well on the left flank, passing confidently and linking up well with Solanke.

Despite that a couple did disappoint me. Christensen, who has a fantastic reputation, did not look particularly special on the night. I expected a player with the experience and reputation he has to control his defense a little better than he did, and three first half goals, plus two shots hitting the woodwork was a disappointment. Ruben Loftus-Cheek was also poor, which was summed up by his removal at half time. He regularly gave possession away, and tended to do so in poor positions as well. The goalkeeper Beeney looked a bit shaky, especially in the first half where, despite his towering size, struggled under the high ball.

Honarable mentions should go to Colkett and Houghton who both worked hard throughout (and got a goal each), and the fullbacks Dabo and Dasilva both looked to threaten on the attack, but neither were without fault defensively.

It was a fantastic game to be at, and I would love to hear anyone else's opinions on the players/the game. Cheers.

I was at the game too, what a spectacle. Great result for the boys and a really good turn out. I pretty much agree with everything you have said about the match.

Solanke was awesome very industrious and played a couple of sumptuous little passes including the one for the penalty.

In the first half I though Musonda was incredible. By far the best player on the pitch. Everything he touched turn to gold and he terrorised the Fulham defence. However he faded quite badly and let himself down with a few lazy touches in the second half.

Jordan Houghton found himself in some really good positions and deserved his goal.

Izzy Brown really excited me. I though he had a great half and was exactly what we needed. Showed good strength and attacking intent.

The defence was a bit of a disappointment, especially given that it has been the basis of all the 1st XI success. However they were greatly improved in the second half. Dabo ran his socks off and made a few important challenges on their dangerous number 11 towards the end. I felt really sorry for DaSilva, by far the shortest on the pitch and Fulham targeted that quite well, but he's got a good left foot on him and sent in a few tasty deliveries.

According to Pi news, Jose Mourinho has admitted he needs to change his style of play and also change to the basic 4-4-2 formation in order to please Roman Abramovich

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Makes sense. But to play 442 Chelsea needs 4 strikers and real winger midfielders.

If any one on here needs a good laugh, go onto the liverpool page and just read

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I do, on a regular basis. The Manchester United page is even better.

"When we sign Cavani, shaw, gotze, reus, moutinho, william carvalho, kroos, fabregas and pogba we will win the league again! because we're Manchester United and still the best team in the world and everybody wants to play for us!"

Hilarious

Agree0 Disagree0

Right. That's like saying than MU will never win the title.

Personally one thing that intrigues me about this summer is the loan/younger player movement. As part of the new ffp rules it looks like the club has taken a recruitment policy of taking a chance on many promising youngsters and developing them at the club or elsewhere before turning them over for a profit (KDB on a smaller scale). With that said there are a little bit too many loan players on the books who I think we can all agree won't make much of an impact. With that said I outlined a list of those individuals I feel will go on loan and a general ballpark of the type of club I feel chelsea should send them to.

Atsu-outstanding season at vitesse. Could go to a low premier league team or back to the club depending on how many options we want to have.
Zouma-he is good enough to go to a lower premier league team or stay at the club depending on coming/going
Piazon-second half of the season has scared me. Still think he's ready for a bottom premier league team but we need to find one who promotes playing football in a manner which suits him
Hazard-I think a loan to a top level championship club then then next half of the season at a lower premier league club would suit him
Chalobah-If there's a low level premier league team that is beating down our door to take him then send him there otherwise a half season to a top championship club followed by a mid-season move to a premier league club. Depending on comings and goings I would consider holding onto him.
Omereu-loan to another championship side (preferably middlesburough) his similarities to kalas do scare me though
Bamford-assuming derby don't win the playoff and get promoted it would be nice to see him there again. Maybe keep in as a third striker but he needs game and I feel schurrle in a pinch.
Traore-sending him back to vitesse would prevent him from having to settle
Wallace-vitesse would be a nice controlled setting for him to go to
Perica-might be an option for vitesse or a lower championship team
Saville-would be nice to see him follow brentford into the championship
ake-ready to go on loan now that he is considered club developed by uefa. a start out in a decent championship club would do.

Decision time for Van Aanholt as its his last year of his contract and exceptional this year, could go to a low premier league team for a year but near the age where he needs to get integrated or moved.

Sell-marin (not good enough), moses (not good enough), Bertrand (wants 1st team football), kakuta (not good enough), McEachran (this kills me), Hutchinson (also kills me), delac (hasn't developed as hoped), davila (not good enough), romeu (not good enough), kane (love him but we have kalas and omereu farther and younger than him), clifford (never going to break into squad), lalkovic (tough to compete with other options), cuevas (not good enough), pirez (contracts up and Bamford and perica are farther and younger)

There's probably a few guys I forgot that are currently on loan as well and there's also a fairly large group of youngsters ready to get their crack at professional football such as baker, RLC, christianson, boga, and the likes. Interested to hear your guys thoughts as always.
