Torres will be our main center forward with hazard on left and hulk (possibly) on right. In case of injury to torres or a suspension or ban hulk can move center. i have a doubt that we would be short of backup strikers. Considering the fact that sturrigde has reservations while playing on right and might sulk if kept on bench. He will ask for first team striker role because his england selection depends on that. In that case if chelsea do not play him, he might move on. So the question here is, who will be our 3rd choice striker. Surely he needs to be guy who is well experienced, doesn,t mind sitting on bench and doesn't care for national team selection. Your thoughts ed 002 on this?

Juan Mata is a class players the only thing is Chelsea are at their best playing the 4-3-3 and he can only play on the wings then..While he is the best in the middle but can't as he has to defend swell with the 4-3-3 don't get me wrong he's brilliant just don't think he fits in at chelsea with Hazard now coming in swell...Hes ok on the wings not bad but we have better.
Thats why we'll probably play a 4-2-3-1 with hazard on the left and mata in the middle.
Mata doesn't fit in now Hazard is here? Would u offer kalou a new contract and play him with Hazard and leave Mata on the bench? Crazy crazy! In a 4-2-3-1 I have no doubt Mata and Hazard can play together, add Hulk to that and u have a mobile interchanging front 3 behind Nando. Sounds like a dream not a problem to me. Maybe it won't work but let the manager worry about that.

The 4-2-3-1 was implemented with a defensive mindset needed to stop losing games and be hard to beat(was a defensive strategy to grind out results)The only reason this formations was played is it allows your players to play a little bit deeper and break on the counter
ATTACKING PLAYERS IN A DEFENSIVE LINEUP:
How do all of you listing your teams in the 4-2-3-1 defensive formation with players that are quality attacking players expect them to perform to the top level if they are constantly behind the ball?they have to be in their best attacking positions you can't just draw up a xi on what looks good on paper!

Madrid play 4 2 3 1, and just set a record for most goals ever in a la liga season, so not so much the tactic more the players, like alonso is not dm hes more of a deep lying playmaker and when there on the attack ozil, kaka, and ronaldo would float about and interchange,the only one who would stay more to a role was diamaria because hes an out and out winger, we should take a leaf out of Madrids book,but i do and have done for ages think we need a deep lying playmaker, to pick the ball up off the back 4 and dictate the play just examples but like a pirlo,alonso,xavi,scholes, not a dig at lampard or mikel but they cant do the job these lot can do,
4-2-3-1 can be as attacking as u like! I remember brazil playing with a similar formation and they just let the front 4 get on with it, low defensive responsibility and freedom in attack. There's no saying the deeper midfielders have to be defensive minded. I think man city showed how a 4-2-3-1 can be devastating with the right balance of attack and defence.

Everton fan here - just wanted to say that although it's benefitted Jagielka - that push by the belgium guy on Cahill has to be one of the worst things I've seen in football - it was dangerous and deliberate - totally out of order - the guy should have got a red card and a long ban for that - surprised more hasn't been made of it in the press or by england

I do not think we will sign a big name striker .Lukaku(if he does not go on loan),Sturridge are going to be rotated as back up strikers.I think we will sign someone young and developing like Luke de jong, Scrulle or Joselu.By the way is it me or does anyone else think Piazon will be a world beater,he can play practically in any attacking position.Josh has the potential ,but he needs to work harder .

While I've enjoyed and appreciated the last few years and trophies we've won, I must admit that I'm concerned about the club. At the heart of Chelsea, it's still a club, supported by fans, the CFC community, but year after year this appears to be disconnecting.
I'm concerned that there is little to no continuity, no players ending their careers at the club, no old boys knocking about. They've all been moved on and passed their sell by dates. The Alex, Anelka situation really annoyed me as a fan, accepting that there may have been issues I'm not privy to.
I worry that we won't be able to attract talent as we have little stability, and I don't see that as a good thing, even if we keep winning and keep attracting players, currently.
The constant changing of managers leaves little loyalty to and from the players and this has played out, time and again. Scolari, Grant, and AVB?
We buy or have players that end up on the bench, or worse, because they don't fit into the managers plans, or 'vision', yet they played under the previous manager / coaches or were destined to.
This has to be upsetting and unsettling for the players. Josh has been so close yet so far for ages, but no new manager has yet taken the 'risk' with him as results are needed and time is limited. Stability will allow this talent to come through, as will security / surety.
It's been a fantastic year for the club and I really appreciate everything RA has done, but unfortunately every now and then I take off the rose tinted glasses and this is what I see.

From my fairly hazy memory I seem to remember that Chelsea were very close to 'doing a Leeds' just prior to RA taking us over, I also seem to remember rumours that Tery was to be sold and possibly administration. As much as anything I thank Roman for saving our club from possibly plummeting back down the leagues, not to mention the success it has brought since. I fully agree on the manager situation though, the club HAS to make a choice this time and stick with it.

Can anyone help,I have been to a couple of Chelsea games when there in the north west of England but I have never been to the bridge. If possible I would like to go to the super cup game in Monaco but will I have no chance of getting a ticket,are season ticket holders and members entitled to tickets first. I am looking into becoming a member and will be getting to the bridge this season but would really appreciate any help regarding the super cup game.
