Superb display by the U21s, unlucky on the boys but what a mature performance, penalties is always a 50/ 50, young dulka by only went right way on almost all but got hand it to them.

I’d be over the moon if Jody went in as assistant to a more experienced manager. don’t think he is ready just yet.

I said I wouldn't come on this site again but I have felt compelled to answer the sometimes understandably negative comments about our manager and certain players.
I would also add that the press and pundits seem to make matters worse but maybe there histrionic behaviour is a reflection of our clubs method of creating success.

While all fans crave success and we are fortunate that owner is also a fan. I also believe most fans would welcome a period of stability.
Only three times have we had a manager in the Roman era manage for over 100 games. Jose twice and Carlo. So, isn't it about time the club looked at the problem from a different angle.

I'm a big Roman fan but surely he has to ask the question, if the same problems keep happening then isn't it likely the real problem lies elsewhere?
Of course he and the club can say that unlike other clubs changing the manager on a regular basis has brought success.

I am very confident that Conte will be our manager for the remainder of the season and I personally would like him to stay longer but do respect the modern desire for instant success (like last season) but sometimes these things take longer and they certainly require careful planning.

The club could include the fans in the plans but in recent times our club, in my opinion, has had a serious communication problem.
This season isn't a disaster the last few games have been dreadful but we can turn the situation around.

fingers crossed tom hard for younger fans to stay positive as were lucky to have had a lot of sucess for me it started with cup finals middlesborough an villa den onto the leagues cups champions league uefa cup etc im just worried with the signing they have been dreadfull an the amount of top players brought im an not given a chance an now look at them lukaku at united de bruyne city salah liverpool its deoressing mate then were off out buying players who can't get a game at arsenal where the logic in that does it show what direction were heading or what. do u feel the costa situation affected players?

I think it’s an old saying, that if you keep doing the same old thing and you always end up with the same results then you have to change what your doing.
I guess the club and some fans will reasonably say, that what the club has done and how it continually changes its manager has only brought the club success.

TomB: Excellent article devoid of any hysterics and your key word is 'stability' something we have lacked. The managers you mention all have win percentages ranging from 59% to 67% which is excellent in modern football and to take a step back beyond RA, Vialli and Ranieri also exceeded 50% but as we all know for one reason or another they fell by the wayside and continuity is a must for the players and our ability to get the players we want as nobody wants to join a club that can change its manager and tactics within a short space of time. I do think we have a moderate squad which Conte gets the best he can from although I think tactically he has been found wanting but the inspirational side of him is worth so much. If you then read the purchasing trail at Chelsea it appears to have too many people who have a say between RA and MG something that needs to be resolved.

Just read that courtoise has been quoted as saying his heart is in Madrid. More paper twisting of comments. Of course his heart is in Madrid his children are there. But that does not mean he wants to leave.
However as a “ what if”. What if he does want to go who do we go for.
I think we need to go English, either Pickford or Heston. Both are poss future England keepers. I prefer Pickford he’s young and could be here for several years. The problem was loaning out courtoise to athletico. If he’d have stayed this would not be an issue.
I think he will go as Madrid will rebuild in the summer starting with the keeper.

Oh and another thing that was pissing me off that hazard willian and Pedro done 3/ 4 times each at least was instead of holding the ball troes a clever flick and gave possession away. I mean conte messes up with starting but boys get hold of the ball.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I really can't stand the flicks between the trio. It works probably 1 time out of 10. Things like that need to be cut out totally. I don't Man City, Barca, PSG etc use so many flicks.

10 games

5 draws
3 losses
2 wins

Times up for Conte given our history of sacking.

It should be the board members that go, they fucxed up and some of the members should be replaced. But of course that won't happen. They are the ones who give power to players over the coach. They are the ones that bought pathetic players.

Sick and tired of this crap. Its the same old crap. History repeating it self, happened to Jose and now to Conte. Its sad to see. Why is it that this happens to us only? No stability. No direction. Short term success club. Pathetic.

Predicted this whole game on here last few days except I was praying bakyoko had learnt to play the game, Cahill is currently still backing off and is in the car park.

Mate give up on Baka especially after yday's cameo lol. He needs a big big rest. We may aswel write him off this season totally and play him off the bench here and there. Maybe next year something clicks for him and he can justify being a squad member. As for Cahill, the soon he is sold the better.

In my opinion not a yellow but quite possibly the worst 30 mins by any Chelsea player ever?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

06 Feb 2018 07:08:25
No excuses for him, he was and has been dreadful but we play him week in and week out. Drinkwater at £35m has his critics but he has not had a run and when on form is a steady player. The defence is in such disarray it is embarrassing and something, anything has to be done with this ludicrous tippy tap short passing in front of packed defence, it gives us lots of possession but no end product, even a shot.
