Is Falcao almost certain not to be in a Chelsea shirt next season? I ask because I really do rate this guy and I'm desperate for us to sign him!

Yes.
Van Persie, Huntelaar, Rooney, Aguero, Gomez!

The issue is athletico payed over 40m for him last year. I guess you could say that would be the only club who would happily take Torres back. But you must keep in mind how unlikely it is for player swaps.

I don't see why as we want a striker who prob won't play every week we don't get huntaleer, he would be cheap and bagged more goals than lewandoski and shurrle.

Do chelsea have any interest in rossi of villarreal? He probably would be available on the cheap due to him not wanting to play in the spanish second division. He is also technically gifted enough to play in an advanced midfield role so could be a good utility player persay.

Scenario: Falcao plays at the olympics and has a stinker, does next to nothing for 3 games. Who would you choose then? Do you choose Cavani over him, or do you stick with Falcao?
Just generally asking. Seems like Cavani was first choice before a couple of poor games, but now Falcaos flavour of the month? Are the opinions based over the last few seasons or the last few games?
Personally i'd choose Falcao, but truthfully i don't really know whos best. This is a general query because it seems like everyone has changed their mind due to Cavanis last few poor performances?

I'd say cavani but that is only because i've seen more of him than falcao. both would be good additions though, i'm sure
trueblue012
Agree1

Falcao is definetly the better player. He is more intelligent on the pitch, has better hold up play and touch and passing. He would suit our style of play more plus has already shown he can handle the pressure of a big price tag. Look at every touch that Cavani makes in a game and every touch that Falcao makes then you will see the difference.
Agree7
Disagree0
On a side note... Imagine if the two of them produced a striking partnership! (I know this is unrealistic, I'm just saying!)
Ash
Agree0
Disagree0
You can't call it on my opinion.
Both have similar strengths, for me though Cavani is the harder worker out of the 2 and i don't care if he's had a bad olympics he's a world class striker, but then again so is Falcao
Agree0
Disagree0
I would choose Cavani, but purely because he is more versatile, i do not think Torres and Falcao could be on the pitch at the same time (not successfully anyway), but i do believe you could play with both Cavani and Torres.
Falcao is a great goal scorer, but not more than that, Cavani is a good goal scorer, and a solid team player.
Agree1
Disagree2
How is cavani more versatile hes only good up top. Terrible out wide.
Agree5
Disagree2
He is not terrible out wide, he is not at his best but he can play there, as a wide forward rather than a winger (the same sort of role Anelka played).
Agree1
Disagree0
Im all for falcao. im not convinced with cavani seeing his attitude at olympics, but also his all round game first touch and passing is terrible. allround falcao would be the better addition. BLUEBOY1
Agree2
Disagree0
Playing cavani in AMR in FM he gets 30 goals a season, if only......
Agree1
Disagree0
BLUEBOY1 how can you say that about Cavani, you cant judge him from one comp, he has scored 33 goals in 47 games, two seasons in a row. That is fantastic consistency, he wouldn't manage that with a "terrible" all round. game
Agree0
Disagree0
Cavani all round game isn't terrible, But it certainly ain't great. For £35m+ u would certainly expect better. There is no doubt that Napoli's direct style of play suits and compliments him. His touch and passing really isn't up to scratch for that sort of money. MB
Agree2
Disagree0
If we played cavani out right would he score more than anelka and kalou did? YES
Agree0

What so spend 35 million for a player to may be sit on the bench behind torres. plus i would much rather our wings occupied by mata, marin, hzard, oscar than a make shift wide player.

Schurle is a very good player.
Normally he plays as winger and even can play as alone striker as he has done it in past.
His german national record is far better than his club record.
U 19 : matches 10 & goals 11
U 21 : matches 5 & goals 5
and senior german national side: matches 16 & goals 7
and take into consideration that he did not start every match, some of them are from bench.
Beofre last season he played for Mainz in bundesliga and there he scored 20 goals in 66 matches that time he was 19-20 yrs old and i guess its very good record for such youngster.
He is very good in driblling the ball he has got very good pace and really a great attacking force.
Yes sometimes he is little selfish and takes long range shot but those you will normally find very powerfull and not so away from the goal post.
But i guess the better players surroundings around him will take out best from him only as it same happens for him on international duty.
I am in for schurle....
the guy is interested in joining chelsea...
n if byren leverkusen accepts our new 25m bid......
it will be great news for us....

Well in todays news its rumored every where that we are going to make three more signings Cesar Azpilicueta, Victor Moses and Andre Schurle.
We all know we need natural right back as a back-up for Ivanovic and hence its correct thing we are going after him.
Well its been almost a month that we are chasing Victor Moses from wigan. He is Right wing player. But we have now Mata, Hazard, Marin and Ramires who all can play on wings.(Though many of us will prefer playing Ramires in deep central midfield.) And we all know all above four players are better than Victor Moses and even he will find it difficult to make place on chelsea bench. Then what is need of Moses. Some of you will say he is young and will improve into good player but then we should give chance to our other youngsters such as KDB(instead of sending him on loan), kakuta, Piazon.
About Andre Schurle, he is also good player and even capable of breaking into our first team squad. He is better than Marko Marin but again we got Marin in 7m and we are expected to offer 25m for schurle so that makes a lot difference.
I guess we will get natural right back and just one of the Moses/schurle/hulk.

Home-grown, loves the club, would i'm sure be happier as a squad player now, after his humbling experience at Liverpool, would chip in with goals and assists. I don't understand the Moses interest. -(Torres)-Hes never gonna be able to fill the boots of Drogba in terms of the goal return we need.
-(Sturridge)-Overated as a cf never think he will be our best future number 9
-(Lukaku)-Very bright future but still to raw send him out on loan for a season or two and when he gets back he will score bags of goals!
-(Piazon)-Not an out and out striker more a advanced midfielder
So im not saying buy Cavani or Falcao because i believe that we won't spend that amount of money on a single player in the remaining time of this transfer window.
But lets get someone with good goal return and experience who's currently at the peak of their career and can fill in for about two seasons until Lukaku returns from loan then we can decide on big money buys upfront as Lukaku is our product for the future in the Striker position.
I would say someone like Dembele or Soldado..not necessarily saying them but players like them.
Please suggest if you want, just no brainless stuff like saying:"Lets buy Cavani,Hulk and maybe Falcao",thats just personic..

our problem is getting the ball centrally and not getting it up field quick enough, allowing the other team to all get behind the ball and marking out our players. but this was pre season i cant see lamps doing this in serious games because he will know hell soon be dropped. we have also got to get out of passing a 5 yard pass to say essien then runhing towards the playey theyve passed to. this creates a clogged up midfield and the other teams close us down from our own movement causing us to pass back and start again, then we do the exact same again its all too predictable. lampard and ramires would be my midfield 2. they understand eachothers movement. lamps love a quick 1 2 with a quick player like rami who will sprint forward look at ramires goal against barca. thats lamps at his best. hopefully thats how he will play. which if he plays with mikel it ruins him. josh & ramires would be my other choice movement and range of passes and creativity of mceachran, the engine work rate of pace of ramy will ruin opponents. yes their is no holding mid but when we actually have 3 centre backs on the pitch we should use that to our strengh. dont let ivanovic attack. that sorts that so effectively only cole would attack joining lamps and ramy attacking. same sort of attacks as napoli used alot last year.
starting would line up like....
--------------CECH------------
IVAN----LUIZ---TERRY--COLE
--------RAMIRES-LAMPS------
HAZARD----MATA----MARIN
--------------TORRES----------
but as soon as we have possession, cole pushes forward, iva, jt, luiz step to ther left and sorts the DM out, so now we can play without useing mikel or anyone who slows us up, but if we get caught in possession we still have 3 solid defenders back so really were not missing DM. so the line up would move into this when going forward...
---------------CECH------------
------IVAN---LUIZ---TERRY---
-----RAM---LAMPS---COLE--
HAZARD----MATA----MARIN
-------------TORRES-----------
soon as we lose possession we fall back into shape, but the whole time were still effectively keeping a holding mid back & useing ivanovic even though at rb at his best strengh defending. any thoughts bluebloods? BLUEBOY1

Have to say, I for one feel genuinely sorry for Josh McEachran, farmed on loan as Rodgers promised to play him, forced to sit on a bench when he should have been playing and overlooked a lot in Pre-season. The poor lad must wonder how he is behind Mikel and Mereilles in the pecking order. Look on the bright side lads, RDM might be using defensive football as a ruse to lure in City and then snap the Chelsea fangs down using Hazard, Marin and FT9 ;D
At least judge RDM after a couple of meaningful games, Pre-season is fitness, results are irrelevant. Everton lost 2-0 to Blackpool on Pre-season, basically the same as our result with a strong team, yet they aren't worried about the performance so why are we? We are Carefree and European Champions People, just remember that. :D

My team I would of set up threw pre season for the start of the new season! 4-2-3-1
Cech
Invanovic. Cahill. Terry. Cole
Ramires. Luiz
Hazard. Oscar. Mata
Sturridge
With ramires and Luiz u have the engine of the team, both got pace and mobile enuf to press the ball up high and win the ball back and with Luiz u got a player who can mix it up with short or long balls not like mikel who looks like he trying to control a bouncy ball u used to play with as a kid. Ramires has got the engine to go box to box helping in attack and also being the safe guard infront of cahill and terry. Back 4 would be a solid back line apart from Cole who can join in with Mata but Luiz would have to drop in for Cole or terry moves over to the left and either ramires or Luiz drops as temporary center half while Cole attacks. Oscar can Rome free around the park looking for the ball to make us tick and supply balls threw or out to the wide men. Hazard and Mata have big jobs of protecting fall backs and getting the service into sturridge. I would just sturridge to work and press their center half

Similar story with me. A good mate of mine who is a current coach at a premier league club, plus formerly a coach at Chelsea and arsenal tells me that Chelsea aren't going to be held to ransom with some clubs over hugely inflated prices for strikers/wingers. Chelsea are now rekindling their interest in Falcao and are now seriously considering ways to crack a deal for him. He also says they are willing to pay big big money for him (£40m+), but indicted that this transfer might take a while to complete. Chelsea's scouts have indicated that Falcao would be the best option for a striker plus Abramovic is known to be a huge fan of Falcao's. Also expect a deal for Moses and Azpilicueta to go through in the next couple of weeks.

I know it's only pre season but I'm no longer as excited about this season as I was 3-4 weeks ago. I've not rated RDM tactics during pre season and I'm not sure he's the man for the job.
I'm aware that during pre season we've not had 2 of our attacking players but even with the players we've had available we're still not creating anything and we're still playing the same boring football that's not going anywhere quick.
I don't understand why he plays Ramires on the right and why we play mikel who just can't move it quick. Yh we should keep him as a squad player but not a starter.
I can see us dropping too many points in the first 10 games to allow us to win the league.
I hope I'm wrong but from what's happened in pre season I'm not sure I will be.

I think robbie is doing things the right way, he is using the same tactics that served us so well last season to avoid us losing our heads defensivly. when you consider we have just bought a wealth of attacking options from different leagues, this seems the best way to go, the players will slowly adapt to the premier league and we also won't lose too many games. as robbie has been saying don't expect drastic changes overnight, this is a rebuilding project that could take at least a season or two. be patient is all i'm saying
