Mourinho confirmed that he is the one pushing to sign Fabregas.

Where have you read or herd that i'd be interested to have a read of it?

on ssn think everyone's seen it

Agree0 Disagree0

The more I think - the better it sounds (in my head).

A Nominal 4-3-3 with Matic/Cesc and Oscar BUT, the wide players can drop back to make a 4-5-1 against really top opposition, Either Oscar or Cesc can go forwards to make a 4-2-3-1 (and rotate in a game so conserving energy), and if we really need to open lesser opposition "parking the buss" both can go forwards into a 4-1-4-1.

It's starting to annoy me on here now it's like a load of 2 year olds who just want to sign everyone. If fabregas is coming in although it's not a 'done deal' by no means yet why is everyone now saying go and buy POGBA! It's getting boring I could understand us wanting POGBA over FABREGAS but people on here want both it's a joke. We have VAN GINKEL waiting for his chance probably be on the bench with RAMIRES also and maybe even TIAGO on a free. It's like everyone's living in dream world. All we need is a world class striker which we've got COSTA with hopefully LUKAKU returning although he may leave, a world class left back hopefully LUIS over SHAW because it shoes last night SHAW is not a world class left back until he can defend. Then lastly a box to box midfielder next to Matic which looks more than likely FABREGAS and with outgoings of LUIZ, BA, TORRES, MIKEL, MCEACHRAN, MOSES, MARIN, ROMEU AND KAKUTA that more or less equals our buying/selling for the window. Not to mention slashing the wage bills with, Cole, lamps and Eto'o leaving as free agents.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Question is, do you really think Fabregas could play box to box for us? I personally don't think he's athletic and physical enough. I'm pretty sure others would agree with me.
What's wrong with wanting the club to buy certain players? MVG will get his minutes, I wouldn't worry too much about that

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the reason why people are suggesting it, is because it's viable! Personally I don't really want Tiago to return because of the wealth of young talent such as Ake and Baker, who I would like to be given a chance. If we were to get Pogba I think we would look to include Ramires in a deal, the fact that Chelsea have asked his agent to see whether Rami would consider a move to Juve would suggest it might be an avenue we will explore. I appreciate that the deal for Pogba is still very unlikely though. Considering that Luiz, Mikel, McEachran and Romeu are all likely to leave, plus Lamps has left, it will leave us with POGBA, MATIC, FABREGAS, VAN GINKEL and some youngsters all competing for the 'Pivot' role next season which I think is very reasonable.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the reason people still want pogba is because since start of last season Essien, Lampard, de bruyne, luiz, mata and hopefully mikel will have left, all who can play centrally in midfield/attacking mid. Matic has been bought in only so think there is enough scope to add both fabregas and another midfielder!

Agree0 Disagree0

MB1, I fully agree with you. That midfield doesn't look too shabby, I'd say. Indeed, it's actually pretty realistic, so that's why a lot of people are hoping it will happen.

I agree with too many fans want everything and not even thinking about our youth. Just look at us buying matic back. It's a joke. I don't mind signing fabregas. But 60 million on pogba. Get out of here. And people wanting luke shaw, no way. Defensively looks slack. Better off playing berty or van aanholt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blueboy, to be fair, Matic has been a huge succes and one of our most consistent players, but I get why you think it's a joke

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this midfield looks real awesome but I just have one doubt and that is hopefullly we are not buying fabregas to replace oscar because I think oscar if given proper resr will be a real important part of us next year

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't the Fabregas would play as a box to box CM. In fact I see Fabregas as a replacement for Oscar than more of a CM. Which could be why others want us to buy another CM.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Oscar will not leave fingers crossed.

Is fabregas deal done

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I explained the situation as far as I understand it.}

Yes it looks like it is a done deal! Surprised to be honest but somebody was keen to sign him (it wasn't Jose)

Hearing a lot of fans saying they do not want fabregas because of a few words that got said in the heat of the moment a couple of years ago. I on the other hand would be very pleased if cesc joined. My preference would be toni kroos but you cannot say that fabregas is not a world class player who would add somethong we are missing, which is the ability to see a pass forward instead of backwards all the time He will also bring 10 or more goals a season to the team. At the end of the day cesc is a quality player and if he signs with chelsea then it can only benefit the team know matter what got said.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree I got pi$#ed off when Costa stud up to JT in champions league semi. Now couldn't be happier he's here its football words and slagging moaning comes with the package of footballers mind games. I would like him

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't doubt his ability has a footballer and I am sure were the move to happen he would undoubtedly bring something to the side, But i've never liked him has a person he seems overly arrogant and things you say have consequences even if it was 2 years ago look at Rafa. But I do agree he is a skilled footballer I am not sure how I feel about selling Oscar though and replacing him with Cesc I suppose if it is true and the price is around 33 mil euros if we can't get Pogba he isn't a bad back up choice.

I couldn't agree more! How anyone can say Fabregas is not world class is beyond me! This guy is so talented it's ridiculous, if anything, I can't work out why Barca would want to sell when you've got Xavi a year or 2 away from retiring. Whenever I watch Barca, Fabregas is their best passer and creates a lot of assists and scores plenty of goals. I think he's perfect for the position next to Matic. Get him signed up, Barca are crazy to let him go.
I know in an ideal world we would sign Pogba, I think we all want him or Vidal, BUT with the young age of our team, we need some experienced heads too, and Fabregas is a player who we know for a fact can cut it in the Prem, and he's experienced, he's a proven winner who's been there and done it!

Agree0 Disagree0

With the amount of players we are selling we can probably get both Fabregas and Pogba providing Ramires is sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't discount what he'd bring to the team and I would be quite happy if he arrived, I simply would prefer others over him.

Agree0 Disagree0

My concern is there are too many attacking players meaning one of hazard or oscar will go. I for one would rather keep these two. And how are psg allowed to take the piss over fpp rules.

I can't see Fabregas playing in the same role as Oscar and Hazard. I think he'll set up next to Matic and ping passes/through balls about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas is creative CM. We don't know what will happen with Oscar. Also there's Hazard senior interview.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - you aren't allowed to mention the name Hazard for the next week}

Haha nice one Ed018 :)

The Gerard Pique press conference video is interesting. Maybe it was rigid maybe it was naive but saying Fabregas is going for 33m euros or £27m.

£27m for a proven world class player who would provide us depth and allow Oscar to drop into the Pivot along side Matic along with another Midfield buy such as Pogba would be fantastic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27m sounds like arsenal buy back clause to me

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no "buy back" clause to me.}

Chelsea can sign Pogba only in some kind of deal which would involved Ramires plus cash but doesn't look likely at the moment.
Torres has spoken about Fabregas deal quite enthusiastic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramires+cash for Pogba would be fantastic in my opinion.
And really nkch, do you have sources from which you get your 'info'? It's a genuine question, not trying to bash you or anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sometimes I do. For example I knew about Matic two months before he signed.
Also I've posted Chelsea line-up vs A.Madrid night before match in London but Ed posted in other posts section.
If you mean do I know something about Pogba. I.don't. Only if something makes sense. I know that Rakitic will stay in Spain and that Ivanovic will stay at Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alright, cheers lad.

Having just watched the England game I have changed my opinion about trying to sign shaw. He reminded me of glen Johnson great going forward but defending was poor. Hopefully it was just a poor performance.
However Barclay showed so much potential, now he is someone we should definitely go all out for.
Also thank god Wiltshire is at arsenal and long may he remain there. If he wasn't turning his back on the ball he was falling over. He is atrocious and how right Paul schoolers was.
