Evening all,

Was wondering what people though of the injury lists some clubs have had this year. Chelsea so far have had very few whilst man united and arsenal had loads.

Is this just luck or training/medical aspects at clubs?

Keen to hear ed01 and ed02 thoughts as well.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't have an opinion on the matter.}

I think it may be down to training methods, I fully believe that LVG is at fault for all the injuries at united, Don't know what's wrong at arsenal, probably the same.

We probably have the best doctors and health team in world football. As good as Eva Carniero is on the eye she is also absolutely brilliant at her job.

Were in a very good position in every way and are in good hands.

Love this club.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's how I feel. Surely it can't be a coincidence. Especially at United. Unbelievable amount of injuries.

Yeah as others have said the amount of muscle injuries are staggering. Also a ton of guys seem to reagrivate things which points to them being rushed back.

If we can't get Pogba next summer I'd love us to go for Schneiderlin. Massively under-rated and he is a very good footballer also. Him and Matic would give us that discipline we need in front of the back four, push Fabregas further forward is what we need because he's more creative. Pogba will be hard to get. We've been begging for a quality defensive midfielder to give Matic a rest and I think Schneiderlin's the answer. He offers much more than Mikel. This would also enable us play Azpilicueta and Luis as our full backs which we should be doing anyway. I think you'd be having to spend about 40-50 million to sign Pogba. I'd much rather divide that money between to positions we need to fill, DM and RW. I'd prefer Schneiderlin to sign and start with Matic to give our most creative players I.e Fabregas and Hazard a little bit more freedom. Schneiderlin would also count as HG just like Pogba which would help. I also think signing Pogba would really slow down Loftus-Cheek's development. For the RW I'd like us to sign a proper winger probably someone like Pedro or Cuadrado. Someone who can beat a man, cross a ball and also score a goal. Cuadrado would be the man in terms of work-rate but he hasn't been playing well and Pedro can't seem to break into a big front three of Suarez, Messi and Neymar. So for me probably Pedro.

I think our defense isn't really a worry because it's quite obvious. We're just playing too much of a high line when we haven't got enough pace. Ivanovic is getting caught way too far upfield. I'd bring Azpilicueta back to RB and start Luis LB. Mourinho needs to get tough on him and Cahill, if they don't play well they should get dropped. That's why Zouma deserves his chance. I just can't see Jose dropping Ivanovic or Cahill. Personally I'd bring Kalas back next year and start him. Against Liverpool and Cardiff last year he was quality I don't know why he went on loan. He's got pace to burn and him and Terry would be the perfect combo. Terry with the Power and Kalas with his pace. Similar to Carvalho and Terry in the golden era. That's how I would go and just my opinion don't want to spend like 50 million on Pogba when we could solve two problem positions with that amount anyway. Cheers.

Problem is that the club haven't shown an interest in Schneiderlin :) he's a very good player though, and the homegrown status is a big plus.
Right wing isn't a concern for me though. I don't see many players available that could upgrade our team in a significant way.
Kalas going on loan was a good decision. The guy needs to play in order to keep developing and as we've seen with Zouma this season, minutes can be hard to come by as Jose doesn't seem to fancy rotating his defense.
Loftus-Cheek will come good though, I've got a good feeling about him. We shouldn't rush him, but I hope he gets some more minutes this season. Most exciting youth talent we've got IMO.

Yeah but how many good games does it take for Zouma to get a chance in the first team? Had about 5 Solid games in the cups when Cahills been terrible and he hasn't had a shout.

Kalas had two quality games end of last season then gets shipped out on loan again. It's not fair on any of them.

So what chance does a Loftus-Cheek or Baker have? Absolutely no chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly, we can only hope for the best with these guys. Jose and the club are in charge and they know better what to do than we do :)

Agree0 Disagree0

It's football mate they need to learn & grow, they need first team football to develop & they aren't going to get that when we are trying to win the league! Zouma will get more chances through the season, experience is needed to win titles

Personally I think khedira would be great business for the club and an improvement on Mikel/Ramires, even more so for free in the summer. Pogba would be an outstanding buy even at £50m, the guy is a class act and still really young. I think we are three players away from having a great team, pogba, varane and a out and out right winger. Khedira I think is an option if we do not have a chance of pogba. Player sales would generate most of the cash needed for the above players. Three in three out. A question for chelsea though is:
Would you trade oscar plus cash for pogba?

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2015 21:09:41
I'd trade him definately. Oscar is very over-rated IMO. Turns up in about 10 games a season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here with you king Eden, he dissapeares all the time, and has done for the last 3 seasons in games.

I love him as a player, but when it gets to this time of the year he's more anonymous than mata

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely I would. Oscar plays in a position that is very easy to replace. Fabregas, Willian, and Hazard are all more than capable of playing in the whole. Plus we've got piazon and hazard on loan whose path is blocked by the buildup we have at that position. This kind of deal would suit us perfectly.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Thorgan Hazard will be gone by the summer .}

Damn that's tough to hear Ed, would have wished both Hazards would be playing together for us. Oh well good luck to him for the rest of his career, hope we have some sort of buy back clause, becuase he'll be a star

Agree0 Disagree0

What?! That's a damn shame because you're right Aron, Thorgan is going to be a star in the future! He's not as flashy as Eden but he's direct and doesn't mess around. Very sad to read this, I'd rather keep Thorgan and sell Piazon :(
Ah well, can't have 'em all I guess

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's hope Eds wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like that's going to happen, Aron :) haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Hahaaha he's a about 702 correct, 1 wrong, so let's hope that changes again for Thorgan haha

Gotta say azpilicueta has got to play right back more often offers so much going forward. And probably as good at defending as brana. Also Willian needs to start playing like that more often. Remy needs to be ahead of drogba in the pecking order. Few changes needed in our team yet, but were on to have a very special team next season with minor adjustments. Think salah will be loaned which is good for him, definitely has enormous potential. Schurrle, and mikel might well be shown the exit the way they are going. Ramires coming back fit is a big plus for us, Oscar could have his place to fight for if ramires sits next to matic, fabregas is going to have that play maker role.

Is it true chelsea have an agreement with Leicester over karamic, whereby they have first option on him in the future?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - What?}

Ssn are saying he's gone for a medical at Leicester so maybe that's a permanent deal

Agree0 Disagree0

The story was we get Kramaric, send him to Leicester on loan, but I think it's a dumb rumour
