I really do hate City. 'Lets just launch a simple 95mil bid for Ronaldo and buy the league again'. They think that individuality is the best mix for a team. When they keep buying all these players and are expecting them to win the league we'll have a team with superb chemistry and beat them.
RT

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Ronaldo is the type of player that can change a teams fortune, so acquiring him would be a welcome move at any club rich enough to afford him.

Agree2 Disagree0

Haha do chelsea fans forget 8 years ago when you wer the man city of the league.how much has abramovich given you again?

Agree6 Disagree2

Would you pay his wages

kings xi

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I'm kinda with the guy saying you get a guy of Ronaldo's quality and worry about the chemistry after. There may be 4 people currently playing that will ever reach his talent level.

Tk

Agree2 Disagree0

We wont get ronaldo its a stunt so that he can try and bleed more money out of madrid

curt

Agree1 Disagree0

Who are the 4 TK? I'll admit I'm struggling...

Roweycfc

Agree0 Disagree0

I could only guess hazard lol

if he means any strikers aswel then possibly augero

piazon maybe??

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm..Hazard,Neymar.I seriously cannot think of anybody else getting the number of goals or assists as he does.
Messi is obviously a bit better than Ronaldo.
Among strikers may be RVP,Torres ,Aguero or Falcao at their prime can get as many goals as he does.
roan

Agree0 Disagree0

Messi is already there. I have a massive affection for xavi, think he's in the same class as the other two. I think hazard and neymar will both get to that level at some point.

Sorry fella's to keep on but Chelsea will sign falcao In January for £55million and reason is because falcao is part owned buy Jorge Mendez who is the super agent that is close to roman and Chelsea and
Has been used by us to get, deco, manich, carvalho.meriels, ferreria and MOURINHO, which gives us heads up on other rivals bidding. Choice is do we sell Torres or not?
MattM

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Definitely don't sell Torres but change the formation. Take a CDM out and add another forward. We might concede a few more but we will compensate by scoring a hell of a lot more. Also cheers for this rumour mate. Really hope we do get Falcao

Agree3 Disagree4

Yeah I'd do that to just one player to break yo play and las ball and have Torres and falcao up front, with Torres runs and pulling defenders away falcao
Would be to much, also fxao senior is quarter as saying when sake about ore contractual agreements with CFC he would not discuss it but said his son has always been a fan of Chelsea fc and see's himself in premier league, he was asked about January an he said very likely! MattM

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree, don't sell Torres. Change formation to 4-1-3-2. We would need a proper midfield maestro who can defend and link up the play however. Probably Ramires and maybe in time it can be Romeu. Imagine a lineup of defence Azpi-Cahil-Terry-Cole, Midfield holder Ramires, attacking mids Hazard-Oscar-Mata, Strikers Falcao-Torres. Still have Moses to sub for strikers, Marin to sub for wingers,Romeu for holder and Luiz and Bertrand on defence = Second in Premiership by only a few points and Champions League repeat winners!!!

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree would not sell Torres and would go with 4-1-3-2 as well but would sell Sturridge for apprx 15-17 mil. That way we are paying apprx 38mil for Falcoa which is very realistic and well worth it!!

A Chelsea team that i would love seeing:

-Courtois-

-Azpilicuetta-Cahill-Luiz-Cole-

-Oscar-Romeu-

-Hazard-Piazon-Mata-

-Falcao-

or:

Courtois

Azpilicuetta-Cahill-Luiz-Bertrand

Oscar-Romeu

Hazard-Mata-Marin

Falcao

Instead of:

Cech

-Iva.-Luiz-Terry-Cole-

-Mikel-Lampard-

-Mata-Hazard-Bertrand-

-Torres-

I dont understand how we are the top spenders but we only make 1 change to our starting line-up from last season?Thoughts

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I'm sorry but as long as Luiz is a long term centre back we will be unreliable at the back.

Agree4 Disagree5

A lot of it has to do with squad players. Last year our squad was atrocious.

Tk

Agree2 Disagree0

Romeu instead of Ramires centre mid?

OsgoodIsKing

Agree1 Disagree0

I would Osgood mate. I'd have Romeu - Ramires with Mata - Oscar - Hazard. Marin an Moses both to change with wingers. On Hazard to move central and Oscar off. Anyway you look at it, it's mouthwatering.

Melbourne CFC

Agree2 Disagree2

Luiz is the best interceptor we have, before Terry departs us he can drill in the positioning side which Luiz lacks. Once he has that Chelsea will be great at the back

Agree2 Disagree1

Yeh i suppose Melbourne. I'd just love to see a Brazilian centre mid influence of Oscar and Rami, with Hazard, Mata and Moses/Marin supporting Nando. But yeh you're right, either way is mouth-watering.

OsgoodIsKing

Agree0 Disagree0

Oscar is not a Defensive midfielder! why are so many putting him there when posting teams on this.. Just cos you want him in the team doesnt mean you stick him in where there is less compitition for places..

that is relegation standards

It's the three year plan. Relegate a premiership team down all the way to League two.

Hopefully the spuds will get relegated then :)

Ed, do the FFP rules count for Russian teams? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Sep 2012 15:15:36
With our lack of deep lying central midfielders, are we looking at signing 1 or 2?

I think we should try to sign Hargreaves on a pay as you play deal as cover for the coming months. {Ed002's Note - No.}

I thought he wanted a move back to Brazil ? {Ed002's Note - The French window is open until tonight.}

ED002 Do you know the figure Hulk was actually sold for? Some reports say 40 Mil euros some say 50 and some 60? {Ed002's Note - It is really unimportant. And neither figure is in line with that submitted to UEFA.}

Ed, if you win the Europa cup do you qualify for the Champions League? {Ed001's Note - no, you qualify for the Europa League.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Stupid rule. Should be champions league

Agree4 Disagree4

No, I do not think it a stupid rule because league position matters.You play well in the league then get yourself into the Champions league position,else any team like Liverpool who do not play well in the league can just survive in the league and give it their all in the Europa League to win it.As you know Europa Leagues lacks quality and is pretty poor so it gives chances to teams such as pool,spuds to win it.
So in order to maintain the quality of the league and the quality of the Champion's league Europa League winners do not qualify.
Just because the Europa League winners beat us does not make them a very good team,because in truth the super cup is not that big a deal ,it is just a friendly. In fact most of the times it has been played the Europa winners are the winners,that tells a lot about the significance of the competition.Big teams just do not take it that seriously.
roan

Agree2 Disagree0

Why ?? they done nothing in the champions league they win europa so they get the chance to defend it same with us and the champions league

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

For some reason I assumed they would qualify for the Champions League for at least the earlier qualifiers. It does make sense I suppose that they would qualify for Europa. And to roan (funny we have the same name) Atletico are better than half the teams that come from lower leagues, e.g Braga, Cluj, Nordsjaelland.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suggesting the Europa League lacks quality and teams could just slack in the league to win it more easily isn't a fair statement. This year there's Inter, Napoli, Bilbao, Lyon and Sporting Lisbon in that competition, not to mention last years CL surprise package Basel. Add in Spurs, Newcastle, Bordeaux etc etc and it's not an easy competition to win. I think EL winners should at least get 3rd round CL qualifying, thus guaranteed to either get CL football or a chance to defend their status as EL champions. Just my personal opinion.

Why does hulk say he only wants to play in England or Spain only to move to Russia ? Surely that was not his first choice , it's a step back in my opinion

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Both the English and Spanish windows had closed and he wanted a move.

Good luck to him

I have to say that i disagree with people talking about the departures of essien and Meireles. Yes it leaves us slightly short, but the management will continue to pair mikel and lampard in the pivot, despite some people on here thinking that ramires will slot in. I hope im wrong, i sincerely do

With Mireles leaving that's extra money for Chelsea, this is good as Josh Mceachran is a fraction of that cost and equally as good.

I've got to say that im gutted that atletico madrid didnt qualify for the champions league. It would of been a great learning experience for courtois. I personally think he is our brightest youth prospect apart from piazon.
jono

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I agree Jono although I think josh is a better player than Lucas. Completely different roles on the pitch but overall I'd take josh!

Melbourne CFC

Agree2 Disagree10

No way is josh better than Piazon. I have to say Josh is gonna be class but to be honest Piazon is gonna be one of the best in years to come. Watched him a few times and every single time I've been really Impressed. Like you said they play different roles but I would take Piazon every day of the week.

ELI

Agree8 Disagree0

Although i am a fan of josh and piazon its unfair to compare them not only on the basis of roles but more that piazon has played one first team game and josh has had many more chances(obviously because of age).
jono

Agree1 Disagree0

Also, my concern about josh is that despite playing for chelsea and being loaned to swansea, he has been loaned to a championship team. Game time is important for fitness and form but surely there was better options than that
jono

Agree2 Disagree2

Come on lads. Mceachran, piazon, courtios, chalobah and ake are all very gifted in their own ways. BLUEBOY1

Agree2 Disagree0

Every englishman is still optimistic about McEachran and i have to say i also think he will be brilliant for Chelsea in the future but not as good as what you guys are going on about,no ways on this planet of earth is he a better player then Piazon or will never ever be!Watch a u21 game then you will see for yourself the guy is top top drawer next season i think he will be a starter for us

Agree1 Disagree0

Josh decided to to middlesbrough himself. why not didnt do bertrand any harm. josh is so far superior in the championship BLUEBOY1

Witsel and hulk may have quite low career expectations if they want to sign for Zenit who are ya! carPetman

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Agreed

Agree2 Disagree1

Yeah why would he turn down the European champions to go and play for zenit?

Agree3 Disagree2

Really low career expectations........

Agree4 Disagree2

He didnt, Chelsea couldnt afford him but Zenit could.

Had Chelsea offered the same fee he would be at Chelsea in a heartbeat {Ed061's Note - Chelsea could certainly 'afford' him but the clubs valuations of the player were different to that of Porto.}

Agree3 Disagree2

Sorry ed, valuation of the player is what I meant

Agree1 Disagree0

They're in the CL , have won uefa cup and are consistent in the Russian league, I'm a the biggest Chelsea fan and I would disagree with you saying the have low career expectations, you're undermining zenit and underestimating them like was done to us and it's not fair play, concentrate on supporting our team. Those players were not right for our club, we have sufficient talent and depth and soon we will click and more changes will be made, roman loves Chelsea and will never leave and we will remain a force that sustains itself through results, you will see. This is a bold one but as last year during the group stages I posted we will win CL, we will be the first club to retain it.peace

I applaud Chelsea on their transfer dealings this summer. The new signings are all exciting and young so should only get even better and the Cavani and Hulk news of the past few days has proved that they both are not right for us. They clearly are not ambitious enough and do not want to win major trophies(maybe there is something in the Falcao rumours - lets hope so eh). Bit disappointed about losing Ess and Mereiles but what it does mean is that Ramires can now move back to the centre of midfield so along with Romeu we should have enough cover in that position. Come on you Blues

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Not gonna happen mate, Ramires on the right wing thank you and Super Frank and fantastic Obi Mikel in the holding roles please.

Hi Ed,

Curious as to why Piazon never was loaned out yet the likes of Debruyne, Lukaku and Josh M were. If he is not going to get much 1st team playing time with us would he have not benefited more playing a year or two in a top tier league? Also are you aware of any free agents Chelsea might be currently interested in?

Thanks {Ed061's Note - I would imagine we are keeping him around to learn how the club works and to get to know the senior players better. He will be a star.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He could play in a few league cup games, FA cup games etc, and move on a loan in Jan. {Ed061's Note - Could also be an option.}

Agree0 Disagree0

FA Cup starts in Jan so could play in the first couple of rounds then get loaned out. Also the League Cup is coming up.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he stays with us from 18 to 21 also counts as homegrown. BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should keep him so he builds a relationship with the seniors so they know how each other play when his time comes

I for one will be sad to see Meireles leave. For all his shortcomings (sometimes he didn't recognise shirt colours when passing), he worked hard for the team and that goal against Benfica makes me smile everytime I see it!
