DOes anyone think this would work, hazard as a false 9??

Cech

Apilicueta Cahill Terry Bertrand

Ramires Luiz Oscar

Moses Hazard Mata

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Doubt it, cause neither Hazard or Mata goes back and defend and Luiz is NOT a midfield player stop it.

Agree0 Disagree4

If Hazard were playing as a false number 9 his defensive responsibilities would be minimal.

firstly a false number 9 doesnt really defend secondly hazard is always tracking back if you watch a game and thirdly were not spain or barca so stop with the false number 9 rubbish

curt

Agree2 Disagree4

False number 9 would work, and luiz use to play midfield. BLUEBOY1

hi ed,
do u know if theres any plan for any of our youngsters to make there way into the first team next year??

thanks

wheelycfc {Ed018's Note - possibly Chalobah. i'd think Josh M. would start to see time as well. not sure about Kane and Ake.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Problem is i dont think they get much play time cause Di Matteo isent exactly known to make any non necesray substitudes, or to use different players in a SMART way like many other teams. And i just think they wil rot on the bench and eventually get half our scored tired out later in the season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Cheers... Wht about any boys tht are on loan?

Wheelycfc {Ed018's Note - if DeBruyne keeps playing well iexpect him to be in the first team, and for Courtois to also be back. not sure about any of the rest of them}

Agree0 Disagree0

The way I see it if RDM plays the youngsters and we lose he puts himself in a great position to lose his job and this site would be unbearable with people calling for his head. If they are good enough they will break into the team if not goodbye, I don't recall to many of our youth players who did not get into the first team setting the world on fire after leaving. To be fair to RDM Bertrand seems to be getting plenty of chances.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Agree1 Disagree0

Gerrard who is like lamps legend but past it now really

Shelvey ha

Sahin £5m on loan then won't wanna join next year

Suso is a great prospect though.

Really hope Suarez gets a yellow card today then he will be banned to play us next week!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I hope he dives and gets caught, so the ref cards him..

Agree0 Disagree0

The ref was very lenient with the cards. Didn't give any yellows unfortunately.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will smash them anyway.

The match yesterday shows that the #1 reason we will/won't win the league this year is not Torres, he's not great but we have enough scoring throughout the club when healthy. The main reason is our defense, specifically our current philosophy of granting space and man marking. I watched the replay of that goal and there is no way that shot should have been allowed, way too much standing around and ball watching. Technically both Rami and Mikel were at fault for thst goal but its a regular issue RDM needs to address. I also think our back 4 drop back a little too deep sometimes our cb look like gk's which allows for easy deep through balls instead of playing more of a offside trap in the 18 forcing either a perfect ground pass or make them try to go over the top. Instead we concede ground and the deeper the attacker goes the more we drop back slowing them space to collect the ball deep.

Thoughts anyone?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

When we start games we look slow and stand off of players. We look rubbish. That's when we aren't any good. But if we start every game sprinting closing players down we would always win. So it's down to RDM to stop holding back it doesn't suit ramires hazard mata or Oscar so why do it. We've got to play the way them four like to play and that's quick.

Agree2 Disagree0

Definitely need to be pressing higher with the style of football we're playing. The end of last season it was ok do drop deep because of the way we were playing but this season it's leaving a big gap between defense and midfield. No point in having lots of possession and nice passing if we just sit back when we lose the ball.

Agree1 Disagree0

The reason you won't win the league is because when the winter kicks in, your creativity will suffer - interesting to see how Oscar and Hazard deal with sub zero temps.

Agree0 Disagree6

Hazzard is from Belguim and has played for most of his career in France.Their winters are as harsh as ours

Battersea Boy

Agree3 Disagree0

Hazard is belgian. Not exactly australia over there

Agree4 Disagree0

I think our build up play works great in bad weather, short quick passes and movement.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ramires? David Luiz? Both are Brazilian and seem to cope just fine.

IB.

Agree2 Disagree0

Both Ramires and Luiz had time in Europe to adapt. Just saying.

How does everybody think how well Neymar would do in England?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd say he'd be a star

Agree1 Disagree0

May take a season to be at his best but he would be amazing at chelsea linking with hazard , mata , oscar ,i know people say players might not adjust to a new league and language but i think world class players can cope if you watch him play his touch technique and vision is amazing ,and hes a very good finisher, he is simlar build to oscar and may find the power of the prem a bit much at first ,but with players like we have all interchanging moving and creating space i think it would be a perfect fit,he has 5 years on messi and 8 on ronaldo,if he came to europe soon and was a success and managed to win the world cup 2014 in brazil which is a good shout im sure he would win the ballon dore and be known as the best in the world , i would love him to come to chelse we would have the best attack in the world and would like to see us go head to head with barca and play !! canton!

Agree0 Disagree0

His too good not to do well, I think he would be amazing! His going barca thou

Agree0 Disagree0

Too lightweight for epl. No chance of him coming to England, will be barca or real.

Agree1 Disagree3

How can you say hes too lightwieght? Oscars managing it isnt he?

Jordan

Agree3 Disagree0

Yeah but Oscar is not a striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neymar's not a a striker though, he's a winger.

Peds

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but if he were to join us he would be playing in the number 9 role. Or do we bench one of the trio?

Cech
Ivanovic terry cahill cole
Oscar ramires
Hazard neymar
Mata
Falcao

It maybe a dreamteam but it was a dream to win league/champions league.
Torres + £25m for falcao
Neymar £50m

Also selling malouda, essien, ferriera, sturridge could free up funds to make these players a possibility.

NWBLUE

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I'd love to see this line up. It would be handy to have Fellaini/Luiz to step in for Oscar and Ramires when called for.... Oh well I guess we can always dream!

RC

Agree0 Disagree1

Or chalobah and mceachran

Agree1 Disagree2

Fellaini is a rubbish DM. And that dream team is never going to happen. Not to mention Ivanovic is 10x better at CB, Terry isn't as good as he used to be and Cole is having a bad patch. Hardly a great dream team.

Melbourne i honestly do think it cost us the game. Swansea played 30 mins less against Liverpool and were at home against us. Our players were tired and lacklustre, if they were fresh then i think we win the game.

As for Hernandez getting in our team? I could never offer my support to him, i honestly detest the guy. And he doesnt offer enough in his general play anyway.

OsgoodIsKing

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I can't agree that 30mins of football could have an such a detrimental effect on the team. Moses, Hazard, Oscar, Torres, Romeu, Rami?, Ivan, Cole all didn't play the 120 mins mate, so realistically they had played an even amount or in some cases less then the Swansea boys.

I don't want to even get in to Hernadez mate, with you on that one.

Melbourne CFC

Agree2 Disagree2

I agree to a certain extent, but when you take into the account the extra Champions League games, Community Shield, Super Cup etc, all games when Swansea players have had chance to rest, they all add up. And RDM hasnt rotated once really, so i think the build up of these games, including wednesday, has left our boys a bit drained, mentally and physically. Add into there International breaks when all our boys play for their countries and Swansea players get time off. And then obviously home advantage for them. I just think Wednesday was the perfect time to give them a rest and recoup, which we missed out and i think cost us.

Yeh we can all agree that Hernandez is a complete and utter t*t.

OsgoodIsKing

Agree2 Disagree3

I completely understand where you're coming from mate but what team would you have put out on Wednesday? With Ivan, Terry and Cole out we couldn't do much different with the back. Torres out so Sturridge had to start. Piazon and Moses both started (Marin not available) and Romeu getting a run. Only players that were first team regulars that we could've done without were Rami and Mata. Who would you have played instead of them?

Its still very early in the season and I doubt the Swansea result will have a massive impact on our end league position. However, if we had of been done, by Utd, twice in a week at home, both fan and player moral would be shot to hell.

A lot of posters of here were saying at the start of the season they want to challenge on all fronts, so being 10 games into a season, I can't accept being tired as a reasonable excuse.

Melbourne CFC

Agree3 Disagree2

I know we're 10 games in to the Premier League, but add in the comps and internationals, and some of our players have played nearly 20 games in the space of 3 months, i think they are showing signs of tiredness already.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one Melbourne mate.

OsgoodIsKing

Agree1 Disagree1

Agreed Osgood. Let's just hope we can get 6 points from all competitions this week ey.

Melbourne CFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh fingers crossed. Wins in both games is a must.

OsgoodIsKing

Agree0 Disagree0

It is mate. I reckon we will do the business over Shaktar but always worry about Liverpool games. I had the feeling before the United game, our first loss would come against Pool. Been proven wrong, but still worried.

Glad JT will be back to marshall the defence, as we have been lacking a leader on the pitch recently.

So sick of seeing Torres blamed it's crazy. We need to quit trying to find a scapegoat and adress the real issue which is our buildup play. It takes us two weeks sometimes!! We need pivots who can transition much quicker. Sure some feel attached to Mikel or want to see Romeu succeed but the honest truth is we will never peak offensively to we solve this issue. Need players like M'Villa, Vidal, Fellaini etc. Sure we need depth at striker position but it is not Torres the problem, he barely gets one good through ball a game. Link up play is simply not there and does not suit his style. Would like to see a second striker added in window but at least one world class pivot player added. If we pair them up with Oscar and use Moses and Marin on wings more we would generate tons more offense and be much more direct.

Your thoughts......

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Don't agree one bit. So you would choose to play Moses and an unfit Marin along with Oscar? So you play Oscar behind the striker and them 2 on the wings, leaving Hazard and Mata where? Or you play Oscar in the pivot along with a new DF mid, leaving Rami where? We just need a striker who is clinical and DF mid like M'Villa or Vidal to slot in alongside Rami, we dont need to change the team at all apart from these.

And our build up play has been different class, bar the last game. With Mata, Oscar and Hazard now in the team we have looked dangerous every game. Its finishing the chances and coping with counter attacks we're struggling with.

OsgoodIsKing

Agree6 Disagree0

Osgood mate, just a thought, it's a squad game these days, you have your strongest XI but competing in 5 competitions you need a good squad. Also don't know why you say 'where would signing a new DM leave Ram?' but then say we need a new DM?
Tim

Agree0 Disagree0

Read it again Tim. I never said we didn't need a new DM, i said if he played Oscar there and signed a new one it would leave Rami where? I think we need one to go in alongside Rami.

OsgoodIsKing

Im sorry but torres has missed too many sitters already this season.

did you ever think maybe cahill was in team of the week because he played better but ivanovic also played well....

are you the all time top goal scorer in the premier league?? have you won the champions league?? where you englands number 1 striker ?? shearer, linekar and hanson know alot more than you do son

03 Nov 2012 23:35:50
why does everybody want Falcao yeah sure he is an amazing striker there's no denying this, but do you really think he'll suit our style of play ? he ain't that fast and I don't think I've seen him beat a man where as someone like Torres can but just lacks that finishing touch, he is way better than he was last season so just because he doesn't score every game doesn't mean he needs to get the boot and i guarantee that most of you who slate him would praise him like a god if he got a hat trick in the next game ...

The Khal...

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Falcao would be the missing piece of the puzzle mate. His dribbling is not first class but he always plays around the edge of the box. With Oscar, Mata, Hazard and Moses feeding him, his ability to take a touch turn and shoot is incredible. If he has a couple of yards of space, facing goal he has the ability too place his shots in the corners of the net is unbelievable. He would be the difference is out fighting for the title and walking away with it.

Our style would only change in the fact he wouldnt drop back to bring other players in, but if he can have the ball played to his feet around the box he will punish most teams. With Oscar, mata and hazard one-two's they would find him in good positions many times a game. Im extremely confident he will be a blue in January.

Melbourne CFC

Agree5 Disagree4

Did you not see what falcao done to us without his pace and dribbling ? 3 goals and should of had 3 more! Torres didn't even have 3 shots

Agree7 Disagree1

Falcao doesnt need to be fast, he has great movement, sublime finishing, such great knowledge, although hes not tall, hes good in the air. The guy has it all.

Agree5 Disagree0

03 Nov 2012 23:28:18
@ Blueboy1- Just because someone else's opinion differs from yours doesn't necessarily mean they are wrong. They are entitled to an opinion just as much as the next man. And if you disagree there's absolutely no need to abuse them and call them childish little names.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

03 Nov 2012 23:22:50
Although i am a Torres fan and i do want him to shine for us. Its just very frustrating thinking we need to create 2 or 3 chances for him to score, and its starting to cost us games. United and City have clinical finishers who do win them games, etc Man U v Southampton, City v West Brom. We don't atm and thats whats gonna cost us the title and big games if we dont get one in in January.

OsgoodIsKing

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Simple question-why can't we have 2 or 3 world class strikers, like Manchester, Madrid or Barcelona clubs do?

Agree7 Disagree0

I don't know? That would be nice though.
