I was wondering if anyone knew how the design of a new shirt was decided. Obviously I understand that the shirt manufacturer will have certain stipulations such as where their logo will go but how is the rest of the shirt decided?

I know it's a matter of opinion but I struggle to understand how someone could have thought having the lions so big on the new shirt design was a good idea.

Thanks.

To be honest I quite like the new kit, apart from the lions its relatively simple and you can't see them very well anyway especially from a distance. Hazard was saying all the right things in the interview where the kit was revealed too, fingers crossed he stays.

Have people seen the new kit launch? I'm not one for buying kits, which is a good thing! £101.95 for the shirt? ONE HUNDRED AND ONE POUNDS AND NINETY FIVE PENCE? Thank god for Leicester otherwise I'd be completely disillusioned with top level football right now!

{Ed001's Note - that's just for the shirt? I thought it must be the price for the full kit!}

As did I Ed, but it just says shirt on the website!

That is with names and numbers printed on the rear - they're offering Falcao! Any takers?

Should anyone want to buy the full kit off the website, well that's a cheeky £149.95.

Be aware there are two tupes of shirt.

£55 for the std adult shirt or £90 for the Adi Zero (?! ) version.

Instead of buying the kit for yourself or kid, buy them a CPO share. Much better present. Disgusting as usual from the football club. EVERY bloody year a different shirt!

The least they could do after this season, is to reduce the prices of the jerseys. Not increase them.

Just looked on the Chelsea megastore site and it is £55 for the shirt. Shirt + Shorts + personalisation would be around the £100.

Fuser, that is the replica. The "real" jerseys cost 100 pounds.

Up until now everyone has bought the replica shirts. I really don't see the issue. Chelsea are simply offering an extra option for those who are willing to pay for shirts that are exactly the same as the players wear.

I admit I saw the £101.95 price and left the website in a rage without looking further at it. NFL have been selling authentic and replicas shirts for years so I'm not shocked it's filtered it's way into the Prem. £50 for a shirt is still steep though - especially when you have four nephews all of which want every kit!

Clubs in England seriously need to look at how they treat their fans. Most genuine fans can afford a season ticket as much as they can a property on the Kings Road; and it's not just Chelsea. There is no secret when it comes to the amount of tv money being pumped into the Prem, and yet the cost of supporting a top level club here just goes up every single year. We can only look on with envious eyes at the way clubs in Germany are run - often by the fans, for the fans. Another example - the more expensive shirt; you can get a season ticket at Barcelona for that money.

Love the Prem, love Chelsea - but something has to change.

{Ed002's Note - You need to understand that the shirts are not produced by Chelsea, but by Adidas who will markey and sell them how they wish. The money from the shirt sales does not go to Chelsea - simply the retailers cut. Your primary target in this should be Adidas.}

it took me seconds to check the website and realise that the price of the kit s barely changed from last season, people who read one sentence about a kit price or rumour and believe it are unreal. as Ed mentioned it is not under control of Chelsea and i'm sure as a minimum the top 10 clubs (fanbase wise) will be doing the same witch replica/ authentic kits. the only question with the new top, which I like a lot btw, is which name you should get on the back - for me its Zouma.

I know your short for time at moment ed so our list of interest in players probably be can't be done could you maybe name where any interest lies in our players and buy whom hoping that's a shorter list excluding our loanees thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I don't have the time for any very broad questions, sorry.}

to narrow this question a little but still give some very good insight. are you aware of the positions which are going to be looked at for signings this summer? would be something good to go on from and debate about although i'm aware it has been discussed among us fans already here. thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to an weird discussions like that.}

From previous posts and looking through other club pages I know that we're after a CB (Marquinhos and Bonucci mentioned), a CM (Vidal, Pjanic, Nainggolan, Pogba) and a striker (Batshuayi, Icardi) . Things might've changed but I hope this helps.

Adding to Saim's list you can add Stones and possibly Lukaku, Higuain and Griezman. I hope this helps Lamps.
