Imagine starting your career and being that good and such a leader your become captain at such a young age, I'm too young to remember ray playing but what I do / will remember is what my era of legends said about him and what a calming knowledgable influence he had assisting at our club. Carlo said in is book his blue runs through his veins and what a gentleman he was and his knowledge of football being second to none, . When we ( me ) moan about players managers the board etc etc just remember they don't make them like butch anymore!

I am old enough to have seen Butch play for us - I remember his debut when he came on as sub - all I remember is that he had big flappy tongues on his boots! A truly fantastic player at Chelsea who scored a lot of goals - Manutd ruined him.

R. I. P Butch - Legend

Really sad news with the passing of Ray Wilkins today. I understand He hadn't been to good recently but this is still a massive shock.

A really great player who was ahead of His time with His game and playing style.

How England could do with a player of that ilk today.

Everyone is saying it, A Great Player but an even Greater Man.

R. I. P Ray, You'll be missed Fella.

What we desperately need going forward is stability which will only be gained by the continuity of appointing a manager that gets support through thick and thin which includes transfer dealings. I would also suggest bringing John Terry and/ or Frank Lampard into the fold because we seem rudderless not only on the pitch but the dressing room seems to be too heavily influenced by the few; at least John and Frank thought about the club. If you look at Mourinho's second term and his comments about the title winning team were not good enough to mount a defence and names like Pogba, Griezmann and Sandro were bandied about and we actually brought in Pedro, Rahman, Begovic, Kenedy, Falcao was on loan, Hector, Miazga, Nathan, Djilobodji and Pantic; with the exception possibly of Pedro what were the Chelsea hierarchy playing at as clearly none of those would have been on Mourinho's mind and is it a wonder he started blowing a fuse. Fast forward to Conte's title win and he basically said the same and look what happened; Morata, Bayakoko, Drinkwater, Rudiger, Zappacosta, Emerson, Caballero and mid-term, Giroud and Barkley. Four of those arrived injured or getting over lengthy injuries, Drinkwater and Zappacosta hardly play and we have got half a season out of Morata, who, along with Zappacosta might well have been Conte's only two picks. Is it a wonder he has looked deflated most of the season also. There is something wrong that we keep repeating and nobody will address the problem other than dump the manger and start the process all over again.

First time poster but long term follower of the page, looking through the posts, I am wondering with people wanting Drinkwater, Cesc, Cahill, Moses, etc out, and replaced with foreign tallent this would only leave Barkley and Christensen as our only senior first team squad player that is home grown (excluding under 21's and loan players) .

With only 17 non home grown players allowed in the squad (if I am correct) would you fill the rest with U21 or loan players should the above leave, or move for others?

RLC should come back we lack box to box midfielders . and Ampadu an Hudson-Odoi are both fantastic for rotation roles. Europa league will actually benefit our youth next season.

Isco and Asensio's names have both been mentioned a lot as someone we could get from Madrid if Hazard leaves but I would also consider Kovacic as he is the type of player we need. I don't like these one dimensional players I'd rather have players who are capable of both either side of Kante. We have to be realistic with transfers as we're going to miss out on top four now. Kovacic is going to be class and is under utilised at Madrid with Modric and Kroos ahead of him. I think the likes of Kovacic and Bailey are attainable without top four. Vidal is also someone I'd love here too as he's a real leader. Him, Kante and either Kovacic or Loftus-Cheek cheek in a 4-3-3 would give you everything.
