I think Marin is utter s**t! Would prefer Benayoun playing over him! I would sell Marin in the summer and give Piazon more game time.
Believable5
Unbelievable11
I honestly don't really understand everyone wanting to get rid of Marin. He hasn't really hit the ground running granted but he hasn't had much time on the pitch and was injured at the start of the campaign. And to base it on the fact that Rafa doesn't seem to think he's good enough and doesn't pick him is silly. I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa picked names out of a hat for his matchday team.
All one needs to do is search Marin's name on the site to see how excited everyone was about him at the start of the season or look at ed022's player profile to see he's definitely a quality player.
Agree6
Disagree6
He was never good enough. And he was signed only because we would have not even had a chance for Hazard, had we not won CL and qualified for it this term. So it is what it is. He could not make it there and he's not making it here either. A bit part player at best. When you have your own talent like Piazon, de Bruyne or even Kakuta on his recent form, it is just criminal to have the likes of Marin in your first team.

He is Torres on a smaller scale. Played well for a season or two in Germany- a lot of hype. Then he suffers a series of injuries and is not the same player again. We bought him as the Marin of 3 years ago.
Agree0
Disagree3
He was bought when we didn't seem like we were going to make the Champions League but then again is Moses a Champions League player? I agree that his progress has been hampered by injuries but I fail to see how you can judge him off the back of 3/4 games. And to be fair to him, in the games he's played everyone has played s**t (Soton, Qpr to name a few) He's even scored albeit against a weak swedish team. All players take a season to settle, remember how poor players like Ramires and Luiz were when they first arrived. I for one won't judge him until he's had a fair run of games and plays s**t in a game where everyone else has played great.

He was rubbish at Werder Bremen all season long. Why on earth spend 8 million euros for someone who can't make it into Werder's starting line-up?
JG
Agree0
Disagree2
Luiz poor when he came. Give me a break!
Agree1
Disagree2
How many mistakes and positional errors did Luiz make when he first arrived. How many rash challenges or decisions did he make? He was still good when he arrived but certainly not at the level he's playing at now.
Agree2
Disagree0
Rubbish at Werder Bremen all season long? He was out injured for a lot of the 2011/12 season. Making 21 apps, 13 assists and 1 goal. So whilst he didn't play as much football as he wanted due to being injured he still had an assist ratio of 0. 62 per game. Juan Mata this season has an assist ratio of 0. 57 and Hazard 0. 32. So based on those numbers we can hardly say that Marin is s**t.
And anyone who watched our pre-season tour, would have seen the quality he possesed as many people compared him to Robben and some people said he outshone Hazard on tour. Everyone's opinion on him is clouded by the fact that he's played poorly in the games he's played in so far (Which everyone played rubbish in). But he's only played 399mins of football this season for chelsea. Averaging 27mins per game. Now if you can say that he's s**t just him based on that then you're a complete id**t.
Agree1

He only scored the winners against City and United in his first few games.
Agree0

Pretty sure he also scored huge goals against united and city. You have to take the good with the bad.

Marin looked great on the pre-season tour, prior to getting injured. How about giving the lad a chance to show what he can do over a few full games rather than a handful of late game sub appearances. He has Mata, Hazard, Oscar and probably Moses currently ahead of him in the pecking order, so the pressure is on him to shine in the 10 minutes he's given every few weeks. Granted he hasn't looked that great when he has come on recently but I seem to remember a lot of people on this site claiming that 8m for Marin was the steal of the summer, the 'german messi' etc etc. Some people have very short memories. He's still only 22/23, give him a chance, the boy has some real quality.

Ed if Man United are scheduled to get a new manager in 2014 and if Guardiola's contract runs until after that will Mourinho stay at Madrid for another year and then move to United. Where do the club go from there if that were to be the case?
cheers {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about.}
Believable0
Unbelievable2
I read on the Manchester United page that you said that a new manager could be in place at united in 2014, if that manager is Mourinho, where do the club go this summer to appoint a new manager. {Ed002's Note - I don't recalls aying it would be Mourinho or anyone else?}
Agree0
Disagree0
No, I know you didn't, it would just seem to be the perfect fit for Mourinho to stay at Madrid for another year and then replace Ferguson in 2014 and I was just worried where we would go from there to find a manager.
Agree0
Disagree0
I wouldn't stress about a hypothetical that isn't going to happen mate. We have known since Xmas Mourinho will definitely be leaving RM this summer.
It's all media bs that he is holding out for the united job.

For the first time in a Chelsea shirt, Fernando Torres is playing like a £50m striker! Savour this, it may be the last time we ever see it.

He's not playing like a 50 million striker.
He's just better than the usually rubbish we see.

Torres played really good. Don't get the unmotivated hatred on. Had he played most of the nights like he did tonight - you'd all worship him. Too bad, it only happened a few times. Maybe a couple, only.

I think yaya toure would be better option than felliani.
exprience, clever.
Though I like felliani but I think yaya would be more suited than felliani & I don't think felliani & yaya both will come. specially after the promotion of david luiz in cdm position & mikel slowly looks get back his old form.
Ed, do u think we will sign yaya?
Believable0

Seems YA YA has just signed another 4 year deal at Man City so very much doubt he will be going anywhere anytime soon!
For me that's good news he is 29 and although sill a very good player his age will soon catch up on him
Agree3

Wouldnt want either. Yaya due to his age and wage demands and Fellaini simply because he wouldn't fit into our style of play.

Ok, I was just wondering about possible exits/interest in players. {Ed002's Note - Ribery, Pizarro, Gomez, Robben, Boateng, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Contento, Luiz Gustavo and Tymoshchuk could all be leaving.
They are interested in Bale, Oezil, Goetze, Turan, Suarez, Busquets, Mertens, Falcao, Caballero, Isco, Vidal, Neymar, Benat and no doubt others.}

4th place qualification seems to be in a quagmire. Any further slip up will be fatal. No more Jose coming, falcao coming in that case. I wish we qualify, but under present manager you ca not predict anything.
