Come on avb. Meireles? He not good enough for Liverpool and was sooo patchy for them. Bad deal. I fear the worst for chels this season

Still better than Benayoun... why he was bought still baffles me. Meireles will be a squad player - hopefully he was not the alternative to Modric.

He adds pace and energy. I think he is a good buy, and will add something to a midfield that only has Ramires for any forward drive and enthusiasm. He is not a playmaker really but did score, and create a fair few at pool so can see the gaps. I expect him to do well. Most Pool fans i know would rather him than Henderson, and are very sad to see him sold to a rival, and that can only be a good sign.

Most Pool fans think he was an over rated lightweight. Played well for a few games and looked good in an average side, but became anonymous when the going got tough. He might do a job against Arsenal , but just watch him shirk the tackle against the likes of Stoke. He came to Chelsea for cash, and to save his own face...he was never going to get into LFC first team week in week out. And I didn't see the top sides in Europe clamouring for his signature when Roy Hodgson or AVB signed him.......says it all really. Good luck to Chelsea with Raul. He will not be missed by the Pool.
