That would be nice to watch, don't think RDM will change from 4-2-3-1 though he seems set it.

Sod trying to copy Barcelona, we should play like Dortmund. Absolutely brilliant tonight from Dortmund, furthermore they have a incredibly similar style squad to ours.

Who's copying Barca, do they play 2 holding mids? The comparrison was the small tallented mids and maybe our desire to hire Pep but RDM does not even THINK the way Barca plays, not even close. Gooners might be closer in bpl.

What I meant was that, it seemed early on in the summer, that we were trying to get Pep and to buy all this tricky players and play possession football. That doesn't seem the case, and now we look like we are playing more like Dortmund.
PR!

We can't play like Barca because our back 4 are not as good or comfortable 'on the ball' and they pick a pass better. However, we don't need to play like Barca because our back 4 are better defensively especially with Ramires in rm, we don't need 70% possession to keep a clean sheet.

Chelsea vs Norwich up next, here is how I would line the Chelsea team up against them…
*************Cech**********
Azpiliqueta***Luiz***Terry***Cole
********Lampard***Romeu*****
Moses********Mata******Hazard
************Torres***********
Perfect chance to give Azpiliqueta his first league start, give Romeu some league time and give Oscar and Ramires a rest…hopefully Sturridge will return and get some game time off the bench too.

iv been very critical of torres recently and i understand why people dont like it as he is working hard but the reason im being critical is hes not the clinical finisher he used to be he showed that last night a few years back instead of trying to get closer to goal he would of just let rip at goal and hes there to be banging in goals, if his shooting was as good as his work rate there wouldnt be a problem
if he scores alot them im happy but if its true about falcao and we are in talks with him then i really cant see torres having a future at chelsea who knows will have to wait and see

Can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with u Curt. My problem was running him out of town before the sqad and the style of play that was better suited for him was implemented. Now that it has, no more excuses. If by Jan we're not all comfortable with him as the main STRIKER he has to leave the team, I think he cost too much to even be a backup. Also, if he's struggling to score over the next month, by Nov I would have Sturridge in there. BTW, would be nice to see DS get some subs at lone striker to see what he looks like with these young mids.

Would people stop having a pop at Torres. The bloke is improving with each game as is the team in general. He is a Chelsea player show him some respect. Regards getting rid of him that is down to the club and has nothing to do with us. As for sturridge last season most people on here wanted him sold, now he is being hailed as some sort of saviour, we are doing well this season better than most if we are honest belived we would be. I have been impressed so far with both the team and management so stop the childish moaning and enjoy what is happening.
Agree6
Disagree3
Who's hailing Sturridge as a saviour, he's the only other real striker on the club so i was just saying that with better service if Torres a month from now is struggling give him a shot.
And as far as management goes, prior to RA's 'visit' to the training grounds RDM was constantly playing players out of position(just like he just played Moses at LW) and could not see that the Lamps/Mikel pairing was bad for both offense and defense and he was only starting 1 of our new tallented mids. So while i'm very happy with where we sit today and with our team improving each week i'm not yet 'satisfied' with management. I will know more by jan.

its not childish moaning and im not having a dig at torres if you read it properly i said i was quick to slaughter him and he is working hard but lacking the clinical finishing a striker needs
and if falcao signs its fact torres wont start

The post was not aimed at anyone person, it was aimed at the majority who come on here and bitch about tactics, individual players and critisize any one who does not share there view. This part is aimed at one person, this is Chelsea football rumours/banter and not curts football banter/rumours. Most people who post are obviously passionate about the club but I am getting ****ed off with the continual slating of one or two players and the managements decision making. We are European champions who are top of the league and playing some very good football at times, what more do people want?

You're obviously entitled to your opinion and we all love Chelsea, however, like you said, this is a banter fan discussion forum and if that is truly how you see things then you are simply result driven and don't understand the game. Kinda like trying to teach someone the dangers of bad habits and the importantance of fundamentals and they look at you and say, "but I'm winning". Thankfully RA doesn't think that way that's why as champs he spent a lot to improve the squad.

Well, Torres is scoring again, you know. But in general, he seems to have settled into this place where he's permanently on the brink of not actually being rubbish any more at all, but is, all the same, still quite far from being amazing; far enough away from rubbish definitely not to be rubbish but not far enough away for it to be certain that he'll ever get back to his best. That's my take on Nando.

I'm at the point where I realize we'll never get £50m worth of performance out of him but I do think he can put in a really good shift and there's not a ton of strikers better than him out there. One of the strikers in question thoughs name is falcao.

There is no doubt that the brazillian and spanish boys are making the difference in the team.
In our home game against Noorsjeiland i would like us to try something like this:
Cech
Azpilicueta*Cahill*Luiz*Cole
Ramires*Romeu
Mata*Oscar*Hazard
Piazon
-Just to give Torres a breather, this is some real samba football.

If Sturridge is fit play him. Maybe Piazon in am.

Agree Jordan, at some point and hopefully soon we need to see what we have with Sturridge as a lone striker with our new midfield play because a decision has to be made on whether to re-sign him or sell him.

We are still lacking a pacey RW or Hazard type player on the right and also a commander in CM next to Ramires.
My two choices would be Mario Gotze, we would have the best attacking midfield in world football with Hazard, Mata, Gotze all changing positions and attacking. Yann M'Vila for his ability to control a midfield and distribute the ball.
In an ideal world Falcao would be nice but not as essential.

It honestly depends on the performances. With things continuing the way they are I'd get rid of lamps and mikel and bring in m'vila and McEachran from loan.

A pacey right winger. Like Moses or Marin?
Agree3

Gotze has played considerable games for Dortmund as a roaming player and has done that on the RW. He is like Hazard and Mta they dont really stick to a rigid position.
& to say Moses and Marin are of the standard of GOtze is ludacrous. Moses is a good squad player and so is Marin, if you have seen something in them that warrant them being able to command the RW position all season then fair enough because i havent. Please remember that the original poster said in an ideal world.

Striker :- Falcao is the striker I'd most like to see, however i'm not convinced we're going to spend that much money on another striker whilst Torres remains at the club...Lewandowski would make a very good signing too!
Midfielder :- Fellaini, he's been one of the best players in the Premiership so far this season! I doubted it in the summer, but he would really round our squad off well!!
Obi Mikel the only exit!!

I am hoping that we are able to add Sergio Ramos to the team in January, so that we are able to push David Luiz forward into the CDM role. My team would then be:
Cech
Ivanovic-Ramos-Terry/Cahill-Cole
Luiz-Ramires
Mata-Oscar-Hazard
Torres

Hope we don't get ramos, cahill & terry better suited to the premier, luiz a better footballer & have great youngsters coming through. A complete waste of money, which could be much better spent on a world class DM.
