How good is dembele of Celtic .

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed018's Note - ask on the Celtics page. I'm sure they can help out}

Haha wanted a less biased view, great record and we wanted him from Fulham. Hopefully mushonda isn't sold to Celtic. loan would be great but not sell.

im not convinced matt, i think bats would get 40 goals a season playing for celtic in that pathetic league,

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. Hard to judge playing slim a league which is won after 10 games, well today's rumours from Spain is costa will sign for athletico and train until Jan to play. which may open up door for us to sign a striker ( lukaku / dembele ) think we need a spark in the team to help Eden, that player who can pull out something special, the difference between 0-0 and a 1-0.

i would prefer to rotate the 3 willian hazard and pedro, and give more time for rlc or baker, i think 5 players for 2 positions is fine,3 of them are class and 2 are prospects so in a perfect world rlc and baker come on leaps and bounds this season, given game time, and i think fabregas would add quality playing behind the striker, and use moses if things get really desperate, unless willian or pedro leaves i don't see the point in signing anyone maybe wait a season and then sell either willian or pedro and replace with dembele or dybala to complete the team and add real quality.

Guess it must be hard to remember how good Chelsea were before Roman came in with his billions eh cat? For the record the SPFL doesn't even begin to compare with the EPL but what a club like Celtic can offer is a chance for these young guys that can't get a game for the likes of Chelsea, man city, man utd etc is first team football on a weekly basis with a bit of a feel for European football aswell. The top 4/ 5 teams in England aren't really interested in playing these boys they'd rather spend 30,40,50 million instead. The fact this young guy we're trying to sign from yous has apparently shown an interest in us tells you not every young guys content playing under 21 football and picking up a decent wage.

i don't understand the before romans billions stuff, its double standards we were already in the champions league before roman, the 7 years before we won a few cups, fa cup, coca cola cup, cup winners cup, super cup against madrid, we beat barcelona 3-1 when they had rivaldo and figo, we finished 3rd in 1999,we had zola, lampard and terry world class players, this is the double standards part i don't get, does everyone bang on about real madrid spending loads?, over the years they broke the transfer record for figo then zidane then ronaldo then bale, not so long ago they were getting smashed 4-0 to liverpool so the 1 window they bought kaka and broke the record then bought ronaldo and broke it again they signed abiol and coentrao i think they spent 257 million in that window then they get james for 70 million, but nobody moans they spend to much, bayern munich outspend everybody in germany, that's what big clubs do to continue winning cups, the difference with celtic is even if you could afford a good standard of player they wouldn't want to play in that dreadful amateur substandard league, money aside no good player with any ambition would want to play in scotland, at best its a stepping stone for youngsters, i don't care how full your stadium is, its really really bad on the pitch.

Agree4 Disagree1

04 Jul 2017 13:20:52
james, nobody cares what your team did 60 years ago, let's see whos still in the champions league in 6 months, let's see if your huge super amazing club can qualify for the knock out stages, it show how good your team are you are on chelsea's fans site hoping and praying you sign our youngster. scot sinclair looks like ronaldo in the Scottish league its borderline offensive to watch that standard of football.

Calm yourself down cat, for someone with such a poor opinion on the SPFL you must see a fair bit of it to know exactly how poor it is 😂😂😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jul 2017 14:16:13
im as calm as a cucumber gwarry, all jokes aside how did the league get so bad?, i remember in the 90s you and rangers had good teams not just in Scotland, i remember henrik larsson, who we would have to say was world class, Paolo Di Canio, Mark viduka, and rangers had Gattuso, Brian Laudrup, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Ronald de Boer, and many more, how has the standard dropped so much i know rangers had off field problems, but why were celtic signing that standard of player and now they cant/ wont?, is it to easy to blame the money, because in other leagues like holland or portugal they have a good standard still with similar budgets, i bet in terms of squad value the feyonord, psv porto, sporting lisbon benfica team probably cost simlar to celtics, you have got the history you have got the stadium you can offer champions league every year, but why do you sign players from the championship?, is it the boards fault?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2017 14:53:07
Your right, the main reason we sign a certain level of player is mainly down to the league and of course finances. We can't compete with the money floating about in English football. As for the likes of Holland Portugal etc even Germany to an extent they countries play a hell of a lot of home grown talent which can only be a good thing for they're national teams. There was more money kicking about back when Larsson, van bronckhorst, the de Boers, Gascoigne loudrup etc played up here and to be fair the team across the city were spending money belonging to everyone bar themselves hence the reason they are were they are now. There's no point in Celtic spending 10/ 15 million ( if we could) on players when no other team can compete with us up here. To be fair to our board, over the last 6/ 7 years we've made some decent signings from lesser teams in England etc and have sold on for a lot more than we paid for them. The likes of Fraser Forster, wanyama, big Virgil at Southampton, ki, and I'm sure there's a few more ( not all top 4/ 5 team material down there) but we've done no bad out it mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2017 15:33:03
it seems like a bit of a rut because you will win the league even without any signings coming in, but if you did invest more money into a better standard of player then you could get out of the champions league group stages, and in doing so earning more money, and attracting better players, if you could have kept forster, wanyama, van dijk, and spend 20-30 million on 1or2 players every season, you would be dangerous in europe, it seems like because your guaranteed to win the league every year you won't sign better players because domestically you don't need to, but that has to be frustrating for fans if celtic are just happy to see what happens in europe instead of going for it, i think celtic would be a hell of a club if they reguarly got into the knockout stages, you need the players to go with your stadium, fanbase, history.

2m tv budget we get cat, try winning the champions league on that, can you imagine us on chelsea's budget, we would win the CL and the EPL.

Agree2 Disagree1

04 Jul 2017 16:52:29
stop it james im welling up, sell cans of iron bru to your mass of fans to raise extra money.

Agree0 Disagree2

04 Jul 2017 19:07:47
It is very frustrating as fans but whilst we are stuck in Scottish football it will continue. I've got to agree with James, we have the stadium, we have the fan base and we'd definitely have good investment if we were in a more competitive, attractive league but while we are were we are things will continue and we'll always be a selling club. I really do believe though that hypothetically we were in the EPL, the likes of Forster, wanyama, big Virgil etc would have hung about longer than they did.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2017 19:44:34
i think most of the time if people talk about stadiums and history and its because there starting 11 is crap, just simplify things put 11 players on the pitch and be judged on how good they play in world football, if we talk about fan bases ect then india at international should be 1 of the best because they got 1.2 billion fans compared to say Belgium, honestly the amount of times i've heard liverpool fans tell me how good they were before they were even born, its all a
bit boring, everyone should be judged on next season that's the only one that counts now.

05 Jul 2017 15:33:00
if your english league and teams were that great why were celtic the first team from these islands to win the european cup then?

03 Jul 2017 14:58:40
so if as reported we sign the 4 players we are linked to rudieger, sandro, bakayoko, lukaku, do we think its enough to win the league again?, and have a good crack at the champions league?, i would be over the moon with theses 4,it will be our strongest 11 since 2006, all of them are aged between 22-26 so good ages, to improve over the next 5 seasons.

We need another forward.

03 Jul 2017 17:51:25
If no forward leaves we are ok with Lukaku. Rudiger, Sandro and Bakayoko for me are the key signings because they are upgrades. I would like a creative midfielder to challenge Fab.

Well we have so far signed Willy Caballero as back up GK.

We are in upfront to sign Bakayoko, Sandro and Rudiger.

I expect CFC to announce Bakayoko as next signing in this week.
About Sandro and Rudiger we will have to wait for next few days.

We will go for Lukaku ( I expect everton to play hard ball for money though) Though Man utd will give us competition for Lukaku. I still expect us to sign Lukaku.
