Just saw a video of Mikel's touches vs Spain during the Confederations Cup. That guy can definitely pass and dribble. Jose should try and find a way to give him a little more freedom so he can utilise his skills. He probably could have made a great attacking mid, especially as he's physically imposing as well. I really don't want to see him sold.

He plays better as CM. I have posted how he played at CC but most of fans don't like him. Don't know why.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I've also seen his touches and passing for the last 7 to 8 years at chelsea. Get over it. The manager doesn't make mikel play 2 yard passes sideways. Where with these simple passss he's getting himself and the player he passes too completely closed down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell him. His time is up. I don't think the tempo of the Prem suits him.

What about lampard domt you think he has done all he could for cfc it is time to go

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact that you put Lamps in the same sentence as Mikel is a disgrace

Agree0 Disagree0

Mikel is just an incomplete player without a real position imo. If you put him in his more comfortable #10 role he's a terrible scorer and you need someone that close to the goal to be a threat even if it's set pieces like a Pirlo (who I know plays a bit deeper at times). At dm Mikel just doesn't have the work rate consistently, desire or even pace which you can mask with desire and good technique. That holding mid position is too important to Jog back on defense at times and be a poor header of the ball.

Huigian has just failed a medical at arsenal.

Just throwing this out there, if we fail to land Cavani and get Wayne Rooney instead. Also we manage to off load Ba and Torres, who do you think the third striker would be? Does anyone else think Rooney, Lukaku and Aubameyang has a nice ring to it? Personally I'm not his biggest fan, but I believe Rooney wants to work with Jose. And Jose will get the best out of him. Could be a good alternative to Cavani. Also Aubameyang, has a bright future ahead of him. Lukaku and Aubameyang are both strong and full of pace, could be a good plan B when searching for a late goal against a team who has parked the bus.
Thoughts guys?

Cfc Dan

Aubameyang is on his way to Dortmund.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't mind Rooney at all. I think Jose can be the one to get him motivated and playing well. Don't know if we need Aubameyang.
Schurrle could deputise as a third striker option when needed. Perhaps he's not ideally suited to it but he can definitely play a couple of games as striker. And then we still have Rooney and Lukaku who can rotate. Sounds good enough to me

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Dan I don't think Torres will leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Rooney is the type of player that needs a father figure managing him. Mourinho is just that man.

Would rather keep torres than Rooney.

all you guys slating rooney need to wake up & smell reality! He is not happy at united & hasn't been for some time, Therefore is not going to be playing to he's full potential! Infact no player on the planet plays well when they aren't happy, Jose will get the best out of any player regardless of who they are. If anyone says rooney isn't world class when he is on top form then you need your heads testing! Granted he is a bit injury prone & is always in the headlines but I for one am quite interested to see how he would get on at the bridge if he decides to join!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

On his day he is a great player but he hasn't been for some time. Do we gamble £13million a year in wages alone that he'll come good?

Agree0 Disagree0

Do we gamble 50 odd million on cavani though?

Agree0 Disagree0

Or do we sign Cavani for around the same amount of wages plus the 50mil transfer fee, hoping he does the same for us as he did with Napoli?

Rooney all day long for me!

Mind you, with Torres and Ba gone, who's to say we can't sign both?

Rooney can play anywhere along the front 4, with Cavani and Lukaku we'd have 3 superb strikers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't we one say the same thing about a certain Mr F. Torres? Glad he played better after the move!

Just saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree with Situation88! Cavani use to play as second striker for last 5 years! Palermo played 352, Napoli played 352 and Uruguay plays 352! He always has a partner. He never played EPL so we do not know how he is going to fit in. Torres as well use to have second striker at Liverpool (Kuiyt mainly). Even when he plays for Spain he plays with Villa or Pedro. we all saw what happened in last two games when he played alone. Rooney is much more versatile player he play as striker. AM, winger or even CM. Maybe v. Persie scored 30 goals but how many assists came from Rooney! Plus he is on of favorite Mourinho's players. sorry about spelling.

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason Hazard, Oscar & Mata played so many games last season was because we simply did not have the back up, bringing rooney in would solve that problem straight away, he would slot into CAM & can also play striker if need be he is very versatile, oscar could drop back into CM where I think he is most benefical, Hazard, Mata, & Schurrle on the wings & possibly bring in Van Ginkel or Thiago for CM! I can see cavani being a flop! The english game is far too quick for he's style of play

Hi Ed - it has been suggested that we have agreed terms with Cavani's representatives. How is that possible if we haven't agreed a fee with Napoli? Surely Napoli would have to agree to us talking to Cavani's people.?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You've answered your own question mate. We would've spoken to Cavani's agent about his willingness too join, and his salary expectations. We can't agree a deal with him, while he is contracted to another club. Just more trash that the media is reporting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Napoli may have given permission to discuss terms with Cavani if they believed a fee would be agreed as it would speed up the process, as opposed to drawn out negotiations for fee and wages
