Ed I noticed you've mentioned our interest in a couple centre halfs. With terry Luiz Cahill and ivanovic all primarily centre halfs (with Cesar claiming the right full back position) in addition to kalas, ake, chalobah, and potentially omereu not that far off it seems a little congested. Might there be a situation where one of the established centre halfs are moved on?
Tk {Ed002's Note - Of course, players get older or want to leave or no longer fit and the squad needs to be continuously improved. Time came when Marvin Hinton and Chopper Harris had to move on.}
But could you see one of the 4 possibly moving on in the immediate future? Sorry for the hassle.
Tk {Ed002's Note - "Immediate future" is a subjective term. For good old drosophila melanogaster, "immediate" might be tomorrow morning. None will be leaving in the morning.}
From what I understand Ivanovic may be wanting 1st team football so it is a possibility he may move on if an acceptable is made, Terry has one season left in my opinion. Kalas is versatile and can cover at RB, Chalobah, Ake and Luiz can play CB and CM.
Are we interested in Dede? {Ed002's Note - Read the posts please.}
If it was up to me (which it's not) I would keep Luiz Terry and Cahill. Sell Ivanovic. Bring back Kalas to cover right back and having the ability to line up at centre half. I would also keep Chalobah on loan preferably at an epl team. Ake would stay here before potentially going on loan. All this is void if Luiz is moved to more of a midfielder in which I would like us to get a mobile centre half who can play the ball because I don't feel Cahill and Ivanovic are quite at that level.

No "flies" on you eh Ed!!!

ED002 italian press are reporting Mourinho has chosen Materazzi as his assistant at chelsea next year are things really at a advanced stage with regards to mourinho returning to chelsea? {Ed002's Note - I cannot respond to everything you read on the internet and ask for comment on. It is not good use of my time. Every day it is "The Bulgarian press say .." or some such nonsense. Why not give me a break from it?}

I think Malouda, Kakauta and Marin should be offloaded in the summer and Marco Reus and Julian Draxler should be brought in.
Kakuta Moses and malouda
I honestly don't really understand everyone wanting to get rid of Marin. He hasn't really hit the ground running granted but he hasn't had much time on the pitch and was injured at the start of the campaign. And to base it on the fact that Rafa doesn't seem to think he's good enough and doesn't pick him is silly. I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa picked names out of a hat for his matchday team.
All one needs to do is search Marin's name on the site to see how excited everyone was about him at the start of the season or look at ed022's player profile to see he's definitely a quality player.

Chelsea need to get the following people involved:
-Jose Mourinho (Manager)
-Aitor Karanka (assistant coach)
-Andrey Schevchenko (assistant coach)
-Jose Morais (Technical assistant)
-Didier Drogba (2 year bit part playing contract and forwards coach)
Markey signings:
-Edinson Cavani
-Yaya Toure
-Andre' Schurlle
Loanee's return:
-Michael Essien
-Romelu Lukaku
-Kevin de Bruyne
-Omeruo
-Lucas Piazon
-Patrick van Aanholt
With our misfiring strikers over past years maybe Drogba and Schevchenko can have some good influence and turn that around.
Thoughts?
(I know this is a lot to ask but it is a banter site after all)
Should put a sell list, I can't see Lukaku getting any game time behind Drogba and Cavani and both would be on high wages
Lets just leave drogba as a club legend hey. His last kick for us was to win champions league. That's how it should stay
Yaya won't come and I'd rather a younger version and cheaper, maybe bring makalele in as some
Sort of coach and players I'd buy in my opinion would be cavani, aubameyang, rues
Matty
I doubt that Schevchenko or Drogba will return. Yaya is also unlikely to leave and will only do so if he can earn more money and I don't think Chelsea will offer him a more lucrative contract as he's the highest earner at City. Essien has proved he's a good utility player at Madrid but he hasn't recaptured his form that earned him the label 'the bison'. And for the salary he is on, he isnt't worth it. Omeruo has by all accounts had a good showing at afcon but not shown that sort of form at club level and a work permit is still likely to be an issue. Piazon will also likely go on loan again for more experience with the competition for places next season fierce (Moses, Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Marin, De Bruyne, Isco/Reus/Schurrle/etc) Even if Marin were to leave we have been linked with several attacking players meaning that there will still be 6 players competing for 3 spots.
Shevchenko will never happen Jose doesn't get on with him and Jose will have his back room staff like last time
Why do you think Jose doesn't get on with shevchenko?
Because there was tension when sheva signed because it was mourinhos signing he didn't want him at the club

Chelsea should go back to 4-3-3 next season signing the following players:
James Rodrguez
Damiao
Levandowski
Strootman
Part ex Ba for Levandowski as i'm sure they would take a player plus cash. And we could get these for about £80m
With selling Torres, Marin and Essien. The out goings from Mr A's account won't be as much as it was last summer.
Defenders will be no change, apart from some youngsters breaking in
Middfielders: Mikel, Strootman, Rami, Oscar and McEachran
Wingers: De Byurne, Mata, Hazard, Moses and Rodriguez
Strikers: Levandowski, Damiao lukaku
Just playing fantasy football really, but it would be a awesome team
Its a shame Lewandowski and Strootman are both Manchester United targets and from what I've read both are quite keen on going there, One would be nice at the bridge.
Tom
3 of those players are looking like going to united.
Mdf- also Romeu

Ruben Loftus-Cheek looks a great player for the future from the next gen reports. hopefully we start to see him in the squad next year playing the odd game integrate him he looks like he could do a good job in holding mid with Oscar.

ED002 do the club regret giving Matic to Benfica there best player this season? {Ed002's Note - No idea but I would doubt anyone has given it a second thought.}
David Luiz has had his best year with the club and is garnering interest from teams such as barca. I think we did ok.

My team for the game against Rubin Kazan.
Azpi, Iva, Mikel all rested due to playing the last 2 games. Luiz on the right side of defence to cover Paulo's lack of pace and fitness. Lamps and Rami in the middle for extra fitness levels they both possess. (Lamps due to not playing against United). Moses given another chance in place of a tired Oscar. Mata and hazard both start due to, the fact that taking Rubin Kazan lighlty will prove to be a big mistake. If we are in the position to do so, sub them both off as early as possible, in prepartion for a more than likley revitalised Sunderland on sunday. Torres up front, for there is no other choice.
Cech, Paulo, Luiz, Terry, Bertie, Lampard, Rami, Moses, Mata, Hazard, Torres.
Would love to give Marin the game time he so desperatley craves to reach his undoubted potential, but far too big a risk, especially when he has barely even shown glimpses this season. Hopefully if all is going well, he can replace Mata as a substitute.
Id agree only change i'd make is, i'd start with Mikel and bring Rami on 2nd half with his pace and his forward runs he would do great, Unless we started full throttle and put Mikel on at the end to finish game off, but as we have been slow starters this season i'd start with Mikel.
One Bomb Tom
I disagree for 2 reasons.
Firstly, Mikel played 90mins against Saints and Man Utd.
Secondly, against Saints, it was once again proven how inconsistent the partnership is between Mikel and Lampard. Add that to the the fact that they both don't posses any pace, I stick by my desicion.

If we carry on with the 4231 formation. How many players would you all say we need in each position? 3 keepers. 2 left backs and right backs. 4 central defenders? 5 or 6 in the two man midfield? 6 attackers and 3 strikers?
And how many homegrown do we have to have for a full squad?
Why would we need 4! centre backs but 5/6 dm's?
They are not all defenceive mids. Just because they play next to each other you dimwit. You have defenceive, playmakers, work horses, box to box. Ie. Mikel to mceachran to ramires to lampard all completely different! And all play in the two man midfield. Not all of them are defensive. Was asking people's opinions to try getting some discussions going.
2 for each position. But 3 keepers and 3 strikers. However, people like Luiz are invaluable because they can play multiple positions. As would be the case with de Bruyne, Oscar and Schurrle if he were to join

Apparently people at Chelsea are very happy with challobah and mceachran. I always thought challobah would be an excellent centre back, but he's even better in defenceive midfield! At his age, he's bossing every midfield their is. Great headerer of the ball, not scared of a tackle and he even passes reasonably well. Perfect replacement for Mikel. Maybe not next season, but definitely the season after. And mceachran, his pass percentage is unbelievable. He is physically drained now it's a lot of football to play, but first half of the season he was fantastic. Had a few illnesses since January though. But when he ain't on that pitch, even though they play him on the left borosilicate midfield is terrible at going forward! I think with the right guidance at Chelsea next year we could have to very exciting players on our hands.
Gotta give a big well done to Patrick van aanholt for this season aswell. He really has been brilliant. I think Bertrand might lose his place behind cole. Then shaw to come when cole leaves. Leaving us with two very talented left backs.
Any other players people have been impressed with? Kalas, kakuta, bamford,?
Lukaku, de bruyne, piazon, omreru
I don't think omeruo has been that great for club, he's was good in afcon but so was Mikel and Moses.
I've heard good things about Omeruo at ADO Den Haag this season.

Players chelsea are interested in.
Falcao
Cavani
Isco
Reus
Aubamayang
Neymar?
Schurrle
Bony ( although maybe not now)
Shaw
Digne
Ed could you please ad or take away from this list as I am probably missing someone obvious and intrest may have end with some others.
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I would not include Neymar. You can reasonably take Bony off the list. Digne is not someone I would include - Shaw is a longer term consideration.}
Thanks ed.
Anyone I missed out on? {Ed002's Note - Plenty but I really don't want to be writing any lists.}
Understood ed.
Surely the new manager will decide who he wants/needs?
Therefore, until that is sorted, I would suggest the rest is pure speculation. {Ed002's Note - It doesn't work quite like that.}
Oh yes it does Ed! No top manager would contemplate a move to Chelsea if he was not allowed to decide on his own squad. If you feel happy to attract a manager who will be weaker than that-good luck! {Ed002's Note - Clearly you know zip about it then.}
Well, how does it work ed, isn't that the reason mourinho left because of shevchenko being bought, jose didn't want him.? {Ed002's Note - No - where do you get this stuff?}
Im just a mere mortal ed, i'm not in the know like yourself, I can only watch tv or read papers for my information, thanks for putting me straight on that one, don't suppose you will tell me the reason he left then? {Ed002's Note - It is not relevant - it was years ago.}
Thats what I mean ed, you know why, we dont, understand our frustration trying to get the truth, as we are interested, as you say jose wasnt sacked, but got paid off (if that's true?),
mere mortal {Ed002's Note - Where did I say "paid off". Just stick to transfers.}
ZIP {Ed002's Note - I give my time for nothing to keep this going and all I get stuck with is obnoxious jerks like you.}
Sorry ed I meant, " you said not sacked", the media said paid off, not you, i'm not having a pop at you, just wish I knew why that's all, thanks for your time anyway.

Can anyone tell me how essien is doing at Madrid please? Any chance he has re-captured his bison-like form?
Hell never be what he once was. But he's played nearly 30 games. He's more of a utility man. Playing in defence when needed. He's still a good player don't get me wrong, but he just ain't the bison.
Ok, thanks for the update. I don't usually watch la liga, I find it boring compared to the bpl.
