When Cahill gets dropped from this Chelsea team it really is going to be disgusting that there's no English players in our starting XI.

Chelsea is not just about the English players man. It's not the club's fault that they are not up to scratch. Which English player will get into the first team of the top teams in Europe beside Kane? None. You should be disappointed with the English F. A for not laying a proper developmental plan in place. Peace.

I do agree with you in a way. We need to make our international team better. In my own personal opinion I think every team in England should have to start three English players in their team. But yeah looking at English players only Kane and Alli are close to being world class. I think Lewis Baker should be given a lot of gametime here next season he's got like 14 goals and 10 asssists playing with average players, how good could he be playing with Hazard and Costa. I've never seen someone so good with both feet like Baker before he's super talented.

Two things.
Why is it disgusting?
I'm hoping Chalaboa and just maybe Lewis-Baker will be regular staters next season.

Because we're and ENGLISH team have you not noticed? Chalobah and Baker both regular starters lol wow don't make me laugh were Chelsea Fc we don't play youth!

Maybe there should be English players that are good enough to start for us then. Which English player would you have in our starting lineup? Kane, yeah. But no way in hell Tottenham sells their superstar to us. And for the rest I can't think of any English player that I'd have start for us. I don't rate Walker that highly (though he'd be better than Moses at RWB), and while Alli is good I think we should get someone even better to upgrade on Pedro.

I see both sides of this. what I am happy with is the amount of homegrown and English (or eligible to play for England) players coming through the various academy teams. We're talking the vast majority which can only be a good thing for both Chelsea, assuming some of them make it, or domestic football as a whole.

English players are already hyped up and overpriced what would happen if you had to play 3 of them all the time? :D.

Superfrank and others, I couldn't care less if a player comes from the planet Zog as long as he is proud to put on the Chelsea shirt, that's good enough for me.
As far as Chalaboa and Lewis Baker are concerned, its about opinions and I didn't mean to make you laugh!

In as much as I would like English players in our team to boost our local support, I think they are highly overhyped and overpriced. Why buy average player far more higher amount when there are better players around that come cheaper and would deliver.
We need to bring through but not at expense of our team success. First team play should be earnned and not given. So whoever that deserves it should be featured otherwise buy qualities to impove us. Quota system breeds mediocrity instead of merit.

Lol, so they have to be English regardless of talent to ply at Chelsea. Yeah alright then. Tell you what Roman, next year I'll play some alright English players, not world beaters or anything like that, but because they're English I'm going to play them. Give your head a wobble mate. If they are good enough they will play regardless of where they come from. English have been over hyped for years. Even the youngsters.

Just wondering what everyone's dream signings are this summer. Personally if we miss out on Sanchez we shouldn't buy an average inside forward like we've done in the past I. e Salah, Cuadrado. If we do miss out on Sanchez i would like to see us go 3-5-2 and give Hazard more freedom. We need another two wing backs.

My incomings:

Back Up GK - FORSTER/ HEATON

A new keeper who's homegrown who's very good either of these two would be great.

CB - VAN DIJK

Strong, imposing, quick and very good on the ball. I can see Zouma being loaned or sold so I'd bring in Van Dijk.

RWB - FLORENZI

Fantastic player but would be really hard to get. A massive upgrade on Moses. He's energetic better defensively than Moses but also has a better eye for goal.

LWB - MENDY

Would be a brilliant signing I just hope we beat City to him.

CDM - BAKAYOKO

Not his biggest fan but looks set to happen but I do think he will be a better player than Matic.

CM - VERRATTI

My marquee signing. Better defensively than Cesc and still absolutely unreal on the ball. We need a player like him in the side to complement Hazard.

Florenzi is a pipe dream. Don't see him moving at all. Also think City will get Mendy, and I personally think Alonso has had a great season.
Verratti is the only one I'd want on your list but would swap Cesc and Matic for Verratti and Bakayoko.
I'd steer clear of Van Dijk as I don't see a role in the side for him whilst we have Luiz as they're fairly similar imo. I'd rather give Christensen any of the assurances he wants in order for him to stay.
Apart from Verratti, the one player I'd love for us to get would be Dybala but I very much doubt it would happen : ( (.

Dreams window would be:
- Backup GK (Stockdale maybe? ) ;
- Christensen back and keeping Zouma;
- Bakayoko;
- Mendy/ Aurier/ Semedo;
- Verratti/ Naby Keita/ Tolisso;
- Ousmane Dembele/ Berardi (James or Coman would also be good) ;
- Lukaku to replace Costa.
- Bring Traore back and have him and Musonda as backups die the attacking positions.

High profile players leaving would be: Matic/ Fabregas, Willian/ Pedro, Costa and Terry.

Hmm
The team I'd love to start next season would be something along the lines of in a 343.
Courtois,
Alaba,
Luiz (c),
Azpi,
Alonso,
Kante,
Fabregas,
Anderson/ Sandro (undecided),
Hazard,
Greizmann, (center)
Lacazette/ Sanchez.

So ins:
Alaba,
Anderson/ Sandro
Greizmann,
Lacazette/ Sanchez,
And backup keeper maybe Randolph or Guzan. Like their secondary so I think these would be sufficient.
It only comes to about 210 million :D I can dream of it at least though.

My top two signings would be Verratti and Mendy.
I am unsure about who else we should sign until the players going out on loan or leaving becomes clearer.
I do have concerns about Bakayoko as I'm not convinced he is any better than Chalaboa and I can't have Lukaku but its all about opinions and mine doesn't count!

Any updates on Costa Eds? Reports suggesting he might now sign a new contract. I would personally love to see him stay. He's got that fight in him which we saw in the cup final on Saturday, he might not be the best technically but a 20 goal a season striker he is and we can't afford to lose that.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has happened today.}

31 May 2017 09:37:18
Not unless we sign a 30 goals a season striker.

31 May 2017 19:47:52
I agree, there's no striker who we've been linked with that is better than Costa with Morata and Lukaku being top of that list. Unless we go for Mbappe which I doubt.

Agree3 Disagree1

31 May 2017 20:12:07
With Morata looking more and more likely hat he'll end up in Milan, I'm quite worried we'll end up with Lukaku.

Hi Ed002, long time no speak. Hope you are well.
Quick question. Are Chelsea interested in buying Federico Bernardeschi this summer? Think he would be a great signing. Maybe to replace Willian, who I believe is interesting Bayern or is that just the media connecting the Chelsea/ Ancelotti link?

Thanks for the work mate. Didn't know you were an actual Chelsea Supporter!

{Ed002's Note - Yes and no.}

30 May 2017 23:42:05
Got a horrible feeling we'll end up with the worst transfers this summer.

We'll probably end up with Stockdale, Koulibaly, Bakayoko and Lukaku.

I don't play it anymore but, a Chelsea FUT with those signings would be unreal. silver lining hahaha.

Heaven forbid we sign a homegrown backup keeper, one of the best defenders in Serie A, a homegrown CF who scored 24 goals this season and a top class young DM whose team just won the title against all odds with him playing an integral role.

Agree4 Disagree4

31 May 2017 17:13:09
A homegrown keeper who's average at best, a CB who's positioning is average, a CM who can't pass or doesn't create and a striker who's got a touch like a brick wall. I'd rather stick with what we've got unless we sign world class players.
