Hey fellow Chelsea fans!
I've been thinking for the past month or so, since we were drawn against united in the quarter finals how much I actually want us to lift the FA cup come May.

I obviously want us to win everything available every year, but this year especially it's been too long since we won the FA cup in my opinion, and with no european distractions this season it seems the ideal time to hopefully secure another one.

I'm fondly remembering the late 2000's when we seemed to win it every other year, and I'd love a return to those days!

What are your thoughts on the competition?

Let me point out one of the most effective defenders in a 3 man defence (HARRY MAGUIRE) Of Hull City. He has three advantages Homegrown, comfortable on the ball ⚽ and can score goals and he will come cheaper than the players that are being linked to CFC. What do you think fellow fans and eds.

Can't agree more ED. He won't be any upgrade to any current defender we have.

With Christensen coming back we either need to sign a top top defender or don't sign anyone.

Yeah mate, really think Zouma should be integrated in the team once we nearly secure the title this season.

Don't get me wrong here, I love Zouma and he is one beast of a defender, strong and quick but he is not a footballer, and by that I mean technically he is not good enough and when you play 3 at the back you need all 3 centre backs to be able to play out with the ball. Against the top european teams we could get pegged back too easily. That is why the club are targeting the return of Christensen and the likes of van Dijk.

{Ed001's Note - I disagree, for one I think he is better on the ball than you give him credit for and secondly there is no need for all three to be good on the ball. It is usually one ball playing defender amongst the three, sometimes two, very rarely all three. You still need at least one to be an aggressive defender, who just defends and gives the ball to better players.}

Nothing bad to say about zouma. Absolute beast of a player! Love every aspect of his game and was devastated when he got injured. I'm full sure he would be a regular. By now if it wasn't for that. Best central defensive talent out there.

Fully agreed, Ed. They don't all have to be a Bonucci or Luiz on the ball. But Zouma is decent on the ball, hè just looks a little awkward (kinda like Sakho) . But he's one heck of a beast defender.
I don't know why we're interested in Van Dijk. Christensen coming back should be plenty good.

For the life of me I can't understand why we're being linked with centrehalves. Our back three is up there with the best defenders in football. Then we have Christensen and Zouma who if they were playing for other teams we would be talking about £50m talents and Ake has already garnered a bid of £20m. All of the defenders we're linked with would cost £50m and would at best be marginal improvements. I absolutely adore Zouma and think he should be in the team over Gaz but at the very least this will give his body and mind time to recover from the injury.
