If Remy is leaving, he has to go abroad. Already played for two PL clubs this season - QPR and Chelsea. Not allowed to play for a third.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - That was changed in the most recent updates of the FIFA rules which now allow a player to represent three teams in one season (world-wide).}

Would he leave this window? Didn't have a clue

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is a possibility that a deal can be done with West Ham that would involve Remy and Valencia switching clubs - the idea is being looked at.}

Daaaayum totally unexpected! I saw the earlier post regarding Remy and the interest in Valencia, but I thought that was about the summer transfer window.
Thanks for the clarification, Ed. Let's see how this one pans out.

Enner Valencia!? I just do not understand chelsea sometimes. Would be a crazy transfer!

Interesting choice. He's obviously versatile and would offer depth at winger if both schurrle and salah go. All I'm going to say is for people who are questioning things, since Joses been back we've been knocking it out of the park with transfers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Enner Valencia?!? What is going on in this world. Sounds like a rumour twitter would make. Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Tk hmm not sure I agree. To name a few: Salah, Schurrle, Filipe Luis, Willian have not been good enough! Missing out on Sanchez was a big mistake. Only great transfers we have made are Matic, Fabregas and Costa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Zouma IMO was an excellent signing as well. And Luis wasn't a bad signing per se, he's only been here for half a season and has started playing more recently (and playing pretty well).
Willian is an integral part of our team every week. He may not be flashy and of course he's got some things to improve upon, but clearly Jose values him so that was a good signing.
Salah was a mistake, I'll give you that.

Ed, I read that Hatem Ben Arfa willl not be allowed to represent Nice this season beacuse he has already appearances for newcastle and hull. what is different in Remy's case?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is a good point - FIFA must have changed their rules again. I'll check.}

31 Jan 2015 13:37:48
Ed, I did some reading and from what I understand, the rule states that a player can represent 3 clubs but only play for 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what that means.}

31 Jan 2015 13:50:33
Ed, Ben arfa was registered with nufc, hull and nice this season. It turns out he represented nufc in one game and hull for a few games. Hence he cannot play for nice this season. If he hadnt played for nufc, then he would have been able to play for nice. So, it turns out he could sign with nice but not play for them

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Ok.}

FIFA are being extremely cruel in regards to Ben Arfa imo. The game he played for NUFC was an under 21 match. Hardly seems fair.

To say schurrle was a poor signing is ignorant for me. In a year and a half his value jumped 5mil at the very least. Felipe Luis hasn't had much time (it's tough displacing two of the top 8 fullbacks in the world) but when he has he's looked good. I'll give you that Willian was overpriced but even with salah we will probably sell him for right about the same amount of money so renting a guy for a year and only paying his wages is a decent return. Now look at his successes; matic, Fabregas, costa, zouma are all incredible successes. As for Sanchez we had schurrle coming off a great world cup and willian was coming off her first year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also I believe our interest in Schurrle preceded Mourinho no? Schurrle had a pretty good first season imo, it's just in the end he doesn't really suit the style of play JM wants. Salah was a last minute purchase to make up the numbers due to Mata and De bruyne leaving. Luis it's too early to tell, but I do think he'll come good and we'll see him as our starting LB in the future. Willian's been integral for us. He may not be the best but he has ended up being a pretty solid player. let's not forget that he's actually not a winger.

So we sold a striker and brought midfielder. Probably it suits JM in a tactical way.

Hi Ed,
Will Cuadrado require a work permit or does he have dual nationality?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - if he requires a work permit it shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure he meets all of the requirements}

I am sure he does. He will get it immediately.

Ed, you state Isco may leave Madrid, who would be interested and would chelsea still be interested?

Thanks

So with the Qaud (that can be his nickname from now on) close to signing, who would everyone's starting 3 be?

Hazard Oscar Willian

I think it doesn't change, as Willian does his job incredibly and will not be dropped. The one to miss out would he Oscar imo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think we will have a first three, so to speak. It'll depend on tactics and how Mourinho wants to approach the game.

I'm not a fan of strikerless formations however there could be an argument where Oscar, Hazard, Willian and Cuadrado could all be utilised in the absence of a recognised front man. Oscar's high press has been vital to our game and he is often ahead of the striker when doing so.

In terms of setting up for counter-attacking football, I could see Willian be used ahead of Oscar through the middle.

What we might see is more rotation between Willian/Oscar/Fabregas dependant on the formation used.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id drop Willian for Cuadrado then we playing with 2 proper wingers that will run at people and Oscar will have more room in the middle Costa going to score so many goals :)

Willian would be the one I'd leave out, if Cuadrado is better than him.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2015 11:40:46
Cuadrado is Willian in defense but 10x better in attack he should definately start

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard isn't true winger he is much more attacking midfielder like Oscar or Willian.

Depends on who were playing as others have said. At least it gives jose the chance to rotate with trust.

Hi ed, can I ask which teams are interested in Cech this window?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm pretty sure the previous interest from Pool, Arsenal, Madrid, Monaco still exist mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Aron

{Ed002's Note - Cech is not available for sale until the summer. Monaco, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Roma and Arsenal are the clubs who have enquired about him.}
