I know its highly unlikely but I would love it if Chelsea ended up signing Falcao. I can already imagine the amounts of posts flooding this website if it happened. If it turns out tomorrow that Falcao isn't on the Atletico teamsheet will it mean that he is agreeing a contract with a team?

Hello Ed's! This is my first time i really read about all the transfer rumors etc. anyway i was woundering is it always so hard to sign a striker? seeing as us, spurs, juventus, milan and many more. They all have trouble finding a striker is this normal or just random it is all happening this transfer window.

i think we should start looking at victor moses as that third striker that some have been asking about for ages. i doubt that we are going to sign hulk, cavani, falcao, remy, jovetic, schurrle on deadline day and to be honest i hope that we don't sign any of those players, we need to let torres, sturridge and moses play and grow into the team and stop discouraging youth development by signing another 40 million pound striker. i also believe that moses can do a great job up front because he is so powerful and skillful.

I've hears a lot of people saying that Juve could prove a really hard match. tbh I can't see how. The only players I really rate there are Marchisio and Chiellini. I can see us struggling away because the Italian fans will be all over our backs but I think we can get a result and then hopefully advance and retain our title.

I agree mate. All the pundits are saying its all about the Manchester clubs and that Chelsea have 'no chance'. That is a load of BS in my opinion. The attack is fantastic. Hazard, Mata, Marin, Ramires, Torres etc. Good as anyone at getting forward. The defence is solid. The only player I think we need is a holding midfielder if we let Essien and RM go. Get someone like Fellaini, M'Vila or Tiote. But I agree with everything you said mate.

Overall I'm satisfied with the group. As long as we don't get a group of death I can't complain. That being said it would have been nice to have a weaker 3 so that we could play reserves against them. All of this said unless juve get a really good striker we should win our group.

Well our group isn't too bad. Shaktar and Juventus will be difficult away, the only difficulty for that Denmark team is going to be how to pronounce it and of course at the Bridge we will beat them all because we do brilliantly at the bridge. Think we will qualify from our group, hopefully top as I think we still have the best team in terms of squad but I'm still very optimistic of qualifying.

with only a day and a half left of the transfer window, i was wondering who everone had their fingers crossed for.
My ins and outs are as follows
Outs,
RM- good squad player, but i would rather a younger player was used.
Essien- used to be the driving force of the team, now not up to it unfortunatly. Ironically Essien in his prime would be the perfect foil for our attacking talent.
Yossi- never really settled, and wont get game time, a loan is in the offing i hear.
(Sturridge)- in () because i believe he wants to leave more than we want to sell him. He is usefull and young, but wont get the game time he wants so i would not be surprised to see him leave if we can bring in another striker.
Malouda- Not part of Chelseas future.
Ins
Jovetic/Remy- If rumours are to be believed Remy is becoming an option because if the price of other targets, for me either of these palyers would be great, both versatile and solid goal scorers. Jovetic is also young, so certainly one who could be the star man in 2-3 seasons.
M'Vila- I believe that if both Essien and RM leave we will be looking around for a CM, and for me M'Vila will be the best option. His departure has seemed imminent all summer, and i expect him to move tomorrow. Talented, young and can be a game changer. I would rather see him on the squad sheet over both Essien and RM.
I don't expect all this to happen tbh, but i believe these changes would leave us with one of the best squads in the league, if not Europe. And certainly a squad with huge potential.

Just a quick word for those who want Raul Meireles sold and those who doubt Mikel. When paired in midfield with against Newcastle, Meireles had 55 successful passes from 63 attempts. 37 of those going forward. He partnered Mikel and they played very well together. Mikel played 60 succesful passes from an attempted 63. Both played the ball forward more times than they did backwards or square, and both receieved the ball 53 times each, only Hazard received more passes during the game. Defensively between them they clocked up 3 tackles, 4 interceptions and 6 clearances. I think it's only fair to give them credit for our free flowing football during this game. They were an integral part of the team and I would not worry if I were to see them start together in future games. Just because they are not Chelsea through and through like Lamps, doesn't mean they are not valuable players and I think we'd be foolish to let either go or even want rid of them.

Good post, however i do find that RM is unreliable. He can play very well, and be a nuisance to the opposition and a positive force for us, but in the next game he can play a lot of loose passes and be wastefull in attack he is hit and miss. He is a usefull squad player, but there are younger players who have the ability to be squad players now, but regulars in a season or two, which i do not think is the case with RM.

If Torres gets injured i dont see any player being a highly effective and a reliable replacement for Torres. We NEED an alternative striker. We had Drogba and Torres, now Torres with only Sturridge and Moses as alternatives who arent really brought it in for that position. I hope we make a signing soon of a STRIKER!
I think sturridge should stay. He will get his chance this season. He has shown moments in the past where we could see his potential. At 21 you tend to be too brash. I think RDM influence would be good for him and i look fwd to seeing him progress and prosper.
Hes 23 on saturday mate but i agree i think if he learns to play as a team he could be good

ED018 aren't Spurs the worst team to go to.I mean they have wasted so many decent players it's unreal.They have not even used them as subs.Players such as Bentley,Giovanni Dos Santos,Jenas,Pavlechenko,Kranchjar(who was a very good player in my opinion) etc had got such limited playing time during their careers at Spuds.
They are also a small club with not that many good players ,so why waste good talent!
I think most of it is down to Harry.Thank God that all the rumours of him becoming our manager was untrue.I really do not rate him that much.
