would be a disgrace if we do not sign a striker and rely on torres and sturrigde for goals man city have 3 goalscorers we have Torres and folk dont want us to sign a striker as it may hurt his confidence he ears 150k a week if we sign another striker it should have nothing do to with him

Well said! Has he played his whole carrer as the only striker in the club? Another stiker should make him step up to the plate and play better! Not sulk and play worse

Hi ed was wondering do u think that Chelsea will get there squad wrapped up before the transfer deadline day cos can't stand that period of time. Plus the people were linked with r all in London on Olympics so I don't see what's holding things back and are we interested in rondon that story is back out again thanks {Ed002's Note - It won't be after.}

I know this sounds like a stupid question but a lot of people are saying that Neymar is very unlikely to join Chelsea. Why is this? What makes Barca and Madrid so much more of an attractive club than us? We are reigning European Champions and we're in the best, most infamous league in the world. We have a lot of Brazilian ties and have put down a solid bid so I don't see why Neymar would never join us especially seen as we're the club in most need of a Striker. I don't think he would suit Barca's style of pass and move play. He likes to hold possession and take players on and Madrid play Ronaldo in his preferred position and I can't see Ronaldo being pushed out by Neymar. So Chelsea look most likely to nurture his style of play and he would probably break into the first team much quicker than at the other two clubs, depending on Nando's form. Thoughts please.

I don't think Neymar will be moving at all, i think that is why it is unlikely rather than the other clubs being "bigger"
And also i believe there is an idea in Brazil that they will get more protection from Refs if players move to Spain rather than to England. I think Pele has something to do with it. I may be wrong though.

Just heard Barca have entered the race for Neymar along with Madrid and Chelsea. However will he ever get his place at the Spanish giants with the likes of Messi, Villa, Sanchez, Higuain, Benzema, Ronaldo etc to compete against. A young man of his calibre won't be happy with sitting on the bench all the time. He seems to be enjoying it in London with the Brazilian Olympics squad as he has scored quite a few goals. He will be aware that Chelsea are interested in a Striker and he will never be a second or third choice pick. However Chelsea are probably better to bid for him in January after seeing how Torres will do being number 1. If Torres underperforms then Neymar could spur him on to perform and they would be competing to see who would be number 1 {Ed002's Note - I think you may have just read a news item from last summer.}

I'd take Sanchez for right wing for us though!

Whether Sturridge stays or not we definitely need another striker.As Lukaku is going on loan , we need the atleast 3 strikers to compete in the 68 games we are going to play this season.Any striker whether its Cavani,Hulk etc is welcome and will definitely add to the strength of the team.Torres wants to be the main man like Drogba not the sole striker in the team,so I have no doubt everybody in the team also wants an extra striker to be added to the team.As teams like Real,City ,Barca all have atleast 3 strikers we need another striker.

I wish sum Chelsea fans would wake up and relise wot we already have in sturridge! It's almost laughable that u keep banging on about an absolute shambles in torres and cling on to the small hope of him being the player he once was! It's embrassing that ppl slate sturridge for being greedy! I rather have a striker that always looks to put the ball in the net than trying an extra pass and than for the attack to break down. If ppl follow me on here u all know I've banged on bout sturridge from the start of last season. Can't tell u how much this bloke will get goals. Ok let's go out and buy a striker but not a big name as ppl keep posting bout! Sturridge is a starter for me this season we got all the flair players to supply a greedy young hungry striker! And if u watch torres he drops out to the flanks looking for the ball which always leaves us with no one in the middle sturridge will always more central.

Have you watched Sturridge? his finishing is not great, his passing is far far worse, and he doesn't even attempt to include the players around him in the game. He has solid pace, but limited areal threat, and his touch is not great. IMO if he leaves this summer i wont be upset.

Having seen him on many mant occasions last season I rate him as no better than kalou who of course has been moved on.
He wont get better Lawrenson summed it up for me last night when he said that Sturridge can do exceptional things but all too often doesnt do the simple things also that teams worked out his stepover and found him easier to play against in the second half of the season hence for the drying up of his goals.
No cash in on him now and use the fee to help fund a better standard player

Some one was going on about sturridge cant do this and that but if you look at torres: he cant shoot, passing is very poor, never has control of the ball, never even tries getting on the end of a cross or through ball, no skill and can't run with the ball either so you lot need to realise we have more hope in sturridge than we do in torres.

I'll give you that he struggled with shooting, but everything else is rediculous. He put in some great passes (cross vs Manu and assist at benefica). He struggled with possession at times but he usually had two centre halfs
