just a quick question does anybody else believe that our negativity (in some games) is holding some players back eg oscar and willian?

I personally would like to see Oscar further back next to Matic and Cesc as number 10 because of his better killer ball.

I think you just have to look at how they perform with their national teams. There's a pretty clear difference in an attacking sense. With that said jose thinks this is the best way to win games and I have 100% confidence in him.

Was going to do a post about this but couldn't get round to it
It seems all the technical ability our players have, an creativity, gets knocked out of the player in order for defensive work and work rate. Willian got playoffs this week for his creativity, has he shown an ounce of creative when he's played for us?
Same as oscar, when do you see him play the killer through ball? He doesn't! He simply doesn't. He's not a number 10, and though isn't a knee jerk reaction becuase he's playing poorly, but I've never found him to be that good! I've always felt that Coutinho is better, atleast he is a playmaker, Oscar is a number 10 who runs around A lot, and links the play. Which is good, but not something i'd like for my n.10 to do.
Then again, there's a reason why I'm sitting at home and Mourinho and freinds are winning titles with chelsea :P

By that I mean yes, chelsea are holding back all the attacking players we own.
Terrible for the players trying to win awards, extremely helpful to win titles, and that is what matters.

I believe that building from defence is always the best way to go in the premier league. With footbal changing (I mean less goals in matches than before) it is not suprise most teams play from defence. And I would rather play that way and win than play attractive and lose

I think we are a bit. At the start of the season, Jose was confident that we were defensively solid and so we attacked teams from the outset. Once we lost to Spuds and showed that we have some defensive frailties, we switched back to the more defensive/counter attacking style from last year. If we were to get a more defensively solid CM to play alongside Matic ala Pogba/Koke/Schneiderlin/etc and switched to a high line with Zouma starting at the back, I could see our attacking players being allowed more freedom again.

In order to switch to a high line Terry can't be involved. When AVB tried it a few years back Terry got hung out to dry on countless occasions. John Terry is my favorite chelsea player but I would like to see us rest him in games against teams that sit back next season. Bringing in varane (fingers crossed) would be huge as he's much more suited to this style.

T.K our defence in many ocasion looked weak mainly because of gary cahill. I am big fan of him but I believe that he dipped in form lately which is now a case with a lot of chelsea players

T.K, when AVB tried it, he didn't have someone with Zouma's pace to cover for Terry should he be caught out when playing a high line. Also it sounds like we're going to be pushing hard to get Varane, so a Varane/Zouma partnership would easily be able to handle a high-line.

Fuser that's more what I was getting at that a pairing of zouma and Varane would suit this style very well. Sorry it wasn't clear.
