When you see players like Mikel, Malouda, Mereles, Kalou, playing regular. You wonder what the hell Josh Mc has got to do to get a run of games.
A bad start for AVB, lets hope he has learnt by his mistakes.

Coudln't agree more. Yesterday AVB showed his lack of experience. And yes we, the mere fans, shouted and waved at CFC all summer to offload the deadwood. But then, what do we know?

Agree3 Disagree8

Surely you cannot 'offload dead wood' if no other teams come in for them and if you dont succeed in other targets, you end up lacking depth when injuries kick in. Im not Kalou's biggest fan by a long way but even if he is kept for carling and FA cup games to rest other, more first choice players its got to be better than over playing the regulars and they end up injured.

TBH i feel for AVB a bit, i think if he had had his way the likes of Kalou and Malouda, maybe Mikel etc would have been shown the door, but it never happened. What is important now is that he uses the squad he has as well as he can. And i think by and large he has, i do agree though that midweek his substitutions were very strange indeed, i cant for the life of me work out why Oriol wasnt put on rather than Kalou, and why Anelka wasnt brought on for Malouda rather than Torres. But AVB will continue to learn more and more about his players and im sure by the end of the year he will have a much better idea of how to work the squad, and which players offer him what, he just needs time (and maybe the Jan transfer window!).

Agree2 Disagree0

We'll be lucky to get rid of one of those three in January

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm not the biggest fan of any of those players but as long as they play for chelsea and are willing to give 100% whenever they wear the blue shirt then I will support them

Why are so many people so angry at AVB? What's done is done. Mistakes are a part of life and we should look forward to the next match rather than concentrating on what happened last night

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Don't think we are angry with AVB. Rather you are angry with us who critisise AVB because we want the best out of him and CFC. Critisism is healthy.

Agree2 Disagree0

The problem is the continued involvement of players like kalou, malouda. It is such a basic mistake, that you wonder, if he's up to the job.
So far the jury is very much out.

Agree2 Disagree3

I disagree, we could and would on another night stuck 3 or 4 past Valencia, AVB is taking us in the right direction, considering some of the comments on here regards lack of transfers and the team being old and players not being good enough AVB seems to have worked miracles, yeah we blew a lead we will qualify top of the group and who knows how far we will go?

Priority now should be to get rid that Kalouless. He cost the team an easy qualification. If I were AVB he wouldn't play another game.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Priorty is to support the team whoever is playing, and leave the buying and selling of players to the club.

Alright lads I need to express a couple of things about my club and ur opinions are much appreciated

Firstly, Jon Obi Mikel is not good enough to play for Chelsea because as a defensive midfielder you need to be able to read play, tackle well, track runners, and actually be able to put a shift in and get back to help out your centre backs. He has none of them, he doesn’t sprint back after players when they run past him as the opposition attack us he just lets them run and have space behind him and in front of our centre backs. The only thing he is good at is he is comfortable on the ball BUT when he has the ball he takes too long to make a decision of where he is going to pass it and it gives the other team time to re position!

Secondly, Soloman Kalou is not good enough to play for Chelsea because he doesn’t have a CLUE! End. And at 26 he should be at his best, WELL if this is his best he is not good enough for Swansea let alone Chelsea.

Thirdly, when we play with Fernando Torres, Ramires, Mata we cant surround them players with goons like mikel, kalou and SOMETIMES malouda who aren’t at the same level at moving the ball and playing the football AVB wants.

Thanks

Express away Dan its all good.Jon Obi Mikel,Kalou and malouda are just not Premiership standard, let alone Chelsea standard.I cannot beleive they are still with us. presuming that no one else really wants them (and who can be suprised at that) .Come January we need to get shut because they are about as much use as a chocolatte fire guard.

Kalou never really lived up to expectations since he signed with us. Its a shame that malouda couldn't reproduce the same form he showed during our double cup season. Mikel has not been consistent enough for us. The sooner we sell them the better

Avb was right in sending kalou. He is planning to sell him in january and in order to make him cashable he needs to give him some playing time. most of the clubs won't pay u more if he just warms the bench. Mistakes are part and parcel of every game. Some people score with hands like henry, maradona while some accidently block them. lampard has commited blunders also in past, so please forgive kalou. I played professional hockey myself for dutch and german clubs and i know how it feels like when u r at kalous place. It is like between devil and deep blue sea, u r nowhere. I find that most people who comment here do not know anything about sports culture, they are just people who malign english language by writing slangs like s**t, wtf and many more.

I understand exactly what your trying to say. Kalous confidence is shot, he knows he does not figure in AVBs plans long term and that alot of Chelsea do not rate him. I do feel sorry for him because he has always been there when called upon and gave 100% to the cause. But the fact does remain that for Chelsea he isn't good enough. Its a shame. What i will say though is that i would take Kalou over Tevez ANYDAY! He has represented us well and from now on i hope more Chelsea fans respect him and refrain from slagging him off. Yes hes not good enough, but he deserves massive respect from us all for representing our club so well and not doing what Tevez did no matter how many times he gets dropped or put down by us.

What does confidence have to do with the fact he used his hand knowing that the referee was on the money all the time and cost his team an easy qualification round?

Agree3 Disagree0

Nothing, thats what you call a mistake i think? Could be wrong though.

At the end of the day our hardest game in the prem has gone OT, and now our hardest game in the CL group stages has gone so no worries here. just some of the players need 2 b sorted out bcuz they are crap

I was originally skeptical when Ed002 said Ramires can be a 10+ goal scorer but if he ever learns to finish I belies he can be a 15+ goal scorer. He's gotten one on one with the keeper more than anyone on our squad. I'd just like to see him finish more of his opportunities.
