Will anyone take £20m + Fabregas for Mata?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ermmm Never. Mata is one of a kind and fabragas could only dream of being as good as mata.

Blue con

Agree0 Disagree0

No way on this earth, mata isn't going any where now or in the near future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Erm. no .

Agree0 Disagree0

God no! .

Agree0 Disagree0

Not me, JG

Agree0 Disagree0

NO

PB1989

Agree0 Disagree0

Noo. Oscar can at deeper where fabregas plays. How can you even think about a player who gets you 20 goals and 35 assists in a season is beyond me!

Agree0 Disagree0

No
One Bomb Tom

Agree0 Disagree0

I would! Fabregas is a player Chelsea needs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just no

Agree0 Disagree0

No. As good as Fabregas is, Mata is frankly indispensable. There aren't many players in that role between the lines off the front man as good as he is. By far and a way the most important player at the club and a joy to watch.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would at least think about that deal. Hazard could replace Mata behind the striker and be almost as effective immediately.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why can't we just have both?

Swap deal for Mikel?

Stevan Jovetić want's to join Juve in the first place, slim chance of him coming to EPL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 May 2013 19:30:24
No wonder Mata is a Barca target a expect Hazard as next Barca, Real M or Bayern target.
I am sure that Chelsea has no interest in Sanchez, probably they would accept Fabregas+Tello for Mata and Hazarad+cash would be a bait for CR7!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Both of those moves would be a waste of money and time. They would also ruin the team. Hazard has a good 10 years at the least and Mata has about 8.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are off your rocks if you think RM would sell CR7 for hazzard and cash. Stupid post really.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think I would rather keep Hazard and than swap with Ronaldo, Ronaldo's not getting any younger and Hazard Had years left in him.

What's everyone's feeling about us selling De Bryune and buying Schurrle? Espn say its nearly a done deal, and their pundits are saying De Bryune is the better player. I won't lie, I don't watch a great deal of German football, so I don't have any idea if its true. But this to me seems absolutely ludicrous!

Hope we bring in either
Jovetic
Cavani
Levandowski
+ hulk
+ shaw
Recall
Lukaku
De Bryune

Sell
Torres
Ba
Marin
Essien

Go back to 4-3-3, with Rami-Luiz-Oscar playing behind Mata- CF- Hazard

CfC Dan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well Dan, you obviously have not researched far and wide reference Shaw, have you?
Take a look at Saints WS. Doesn't sound like a player who is going anywhere!

Hope is eternal-trust you are patient!

Saint Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

Saint Martin, all he said is 'hope we bring in Shaw'. Every single time Shaw's name is listed on our site Saints fans jump on board saying 'He's not leaving!' blah blah blah. Do you all have news alerts every time his name is mentioned?
I mean seriously it's a rumour site. Most people list who they want to come. Yes Shaw may not want to leave this summer or ever that doesn't mean we can't list him as someone we want to buy. It's not as unrealistic as if we're saying we want Messi and Ronaldo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Saint Martin, my talks my friend. Plus it always helps if you play for a team you support, which at the moment Shaw doesn't.

If not this season, the. I would expect it by next.

CFC Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaw is a childhood Chelsea fan.
Champions League vs not champions league? Oh yeah and the salary.

Agree0 Disagree0

What I have been trying to point out to you guys is this is supposed to be about "rumours" not "wishes"!

Some of your reasoning is very strange. So, a lad of 17 supports a certain club as a child and that means he wants to play for them later in life? No, it does not. His support was for a PAST Chelsea team, as many current players would admit to being child supporters of Liverpool. Your reasoning is really grabbing at straws.

I have seen wishes on here that Shaw would join Chelsea and be loaned back to Saints. Well, that is the economics of the madhouse and is no advantage to Saints or Shaw.

CL? Who says you will be in it when Shaw would be out of Cole's shadow?

The lad has said he will stay at Saints next season and the club has said he is not for sale.

The reason you see us Saints supporters on here contradicting you is due to the arrogant attitude of wanting a player, having loads of dosh, so you will have him. There are many other EPL teams tracking Shaw but their supporters (generally) do their homework and admit it is unlikely he will move in the near future, largely because they realise the lad is playing first team football and would be crazy to give that up. And certainly, they recognise his current value would be a long way above what I see from Chelsea supporters.

Looking further ahead than next season is a bit suspect as well. Saints are targeting a top 6 finish for next season. IF they were successful who would they push out of that slot? Based on league results in 2012/2013 that could be your club, so what would the attraction be?

It certainly is enjoyable for us to see other clubs enviously watching some of our young players, but Saints have had a deliberate policy of giving their academy players a chance to fast track into the first team and have brought in a number of other young players who they think share the same abilities. Do you really think the club would now change direction and cash in? The appointment of our current manager should provide a few clues.

I suspect your new manager will focus a lot more on rebuilding your team for next season rather than further into the future.

Probably be debating this one again in summer 2014. Meanwhile, just heard on the radio "Hazard is travelling down the M3" and as we have a big wad too, that can only mean one thing! LOL.

Saint Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

Cashing in would be a change of policy? Bale and Walcott?

CT13

Agree0 Disagree0

CT13-you just demonstrate what I have been saying!

When were Bale and Walcott sold? Who owned the club then?

Do your homework, and get to know something about football outside of your "bubble".

Yes, in the past there has been a time when our academy was seen as a football "puppy farm", and as supporters we didn't enjoy that one little bit. But that is long gone (like Bale and Walcott) and £15m has since been invested by our current owners in training facilities for all our age groups. That hasn't been done to revert to past practices.

Both our under 18 and 21 sides were into the Elite leagues this year (only matched by Man. Utd. ) Not too bad for a newly promoted club and if you take account of ages of players in those groups, and without the likes of Shaw.

You may possibly see another young Saints LB given a 1st team chance next season, who the club believes will be as good as Shaw. At least that should divert some of the attention.

On the Liverpool page Ed052 said Schalke are asking for about 20m euros for Papadopoulos. Anyone thinks he's worth that much and do you think we might bid that much?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bit they're hand off, NOW!

Agree0 Disagree0

For that money for a centre back i'd have a talk with Madrid about Varane before I go ahead with it because that's a lot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Papadopoulos has had quite a few injuries. At this point most clubs feel that he isn't worth that much due to the possible future complications. He's had a couple of knee problems and he had a serious ankle injury before which lead to both his knee injury and an abductor injury in the past. It's why people are baulking at the price being quoted. It makes him a risk, especially as the knee injury could cause further complications or complications of its own.

add another 5 mill and get sergio ramos.
he is the best in the world

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Thiago Silva is the best defender in the world but I still wouldn't sign him, and I think Ramos and Mouriniho don't get on, and if our next manager happens to be Mouriniho that may cause tension between the team, I'd like to see Subotic, Dede or N'koulou arrive in the transfer window personally.

JMJW

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like Inigo Martinez.

Can Loftus-Cheek and Christensen go out on loan next season? Or will they still be too young?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why are we selling luiz? We always get rid of our top players. Robben, alex, carvalho, johnson, gudjohnson, ballack, cudicini etc and keep players like mikel, cech, torres, malouda, ferrera etc.
I rate luiz esp in midfield, we payed over the odds for him but why sell him esp for same price?
Porkman

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What on earth do you mean players 'like cech'? One of the best keepers around
Azza

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all, why would you think we'd sell him? Secondly, if we do sell him I'm pretty sure it's going to be for substantially more money than what we bought him for

Agree0 Disagree0

We are selling Luiz? First I've heard of it.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're selling Luiz?
Proof please.

Agree0 Disagree0

You really shouldn't believe all this paper talk.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who said we're selling luiz? a newspaper guessed tha mou didn't want him before mou has even come to chelsea. let's all just calm down

jscottjr

Agree0 Disagree0

The bit I liked the most was including Johnson as one of our 'best players'.

AK

Agree0 Disagree0

You do realise cudicini was a 2nd choice keeper right? Add that to the fact that he was mid thirties when he left.

Deluded mug

Agree0 Disagree0

Cech was young cudicini messed his shoulder cech come in and kept a clean sheet record what do you expect, he's hardly gunna lose his place!

Agree0 Disagree0

Your list of players is fantastic. Carvalho didn't do crap at Madrid after he left. Alex's club had to buy silva because he wasn't getting it done. Cudicini hasn't done anything since he left (besides give up 5 to us at wembley last year). And then on the flip side you have Cech as a player we should have moved. What a clown.

The teams that are interested in Torres, are they prepared to pay his wages or would chelsea be expected to subsidise them?

Would like mourinho there now and to start explaining what he's going to do with squad future looks bright if we manage things right

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mourinho is still RM manager. Just be patient.

Honestly guys, I'm a fan of Reus but I think Schurrle can reach the same level. He's got so much talent and maybe people forget he's still pretty young. He'd be a great addition to the squad. If we get him and bring KDB back then we're all set on the wings

Jackson

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've watched a lot of both and schurrle reach the same heights as Reus is a silly statement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who knows, maybe KDB is a key in getting Reus in a year or two from now. Speaking of Reaus you are looking at a genuine superstar, while DeBruyne, although a great player is not on the same level, regardless.

This is the only logic I could understand if those reports in Bild has got any legs. Otherwise it's just stupid selling your best assets when you clearly are not a selling club, to start with.

Just interested to ear what you guys would do in a hypothetical situation. let's say we miss out on cavani, lewandowski, and Falcao. Would you rather go for a player like Gomez, yilmaz, etc or stick with a player we have (Torres)? For me personally if we miss out on the big 3 I try and sign aubemayang as I feel he offers something that not a lot of strikers do. That being said i'd rather have Torres who knows the club and I feel cares for the club rather than a player like Gomez who I don't feel is very special.

Tk

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Torres scored 5 more goals than gomez did this year, having played more than double the amount of games gomez played. if we can't get falvanowksi then gomez would be a good signing, especially if we can get him cheaply as bayern don't want him

jscotttjr

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people forgets what a force Gomez is! you just need to look at past world and euro cups. I would take him to our mighty Chelsea any day!

LRD

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Gomez and Aubameyang both. I like Torres but I don't think he'll ever reach the heights we need him to.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gomez and Lukaku together up front would be nice to see
