on a more serious note, does anyone else think it was strange that petr cech made no mention whatsoever of mourinho in his open letter, my guess is, and its only a guess, mourinho tried to scupper the arsenal deal

When it comes to winning football matches and trophy's mourinho has no friends or lengths he won't go to, personally I don't like him this time round but you can't argue with his record.
In his first stint at Chelsea I loved the bloke to bits he was funny entertaining and very very successful and great for the game it's self, sadly now he's just successful.

This is supposed to be a Chelsea site ED's. what are all these gooners doing on here? Sort it out or I'm off.

{Ed018's Note - what did they do to you. You can post on any page you want unless it's abusive.}

29 Jun 2015 22:35:48
I don't think that he tried to scupper it, but he probably didn't like it. I'm guessing Mourinho wanted to see him sold abroad and perhaps (probably?) Cech was aware of that.

He said the managers. Lord knows if he listed all the managers by name he'd have to add a second page to his letter. Once again it's the media doing anything they can to find a story.

Keep posting gunner, your opinions are welcome!

I really didn't notice him not mentioning Mourinho! I think he would have to hold a grudge, I mean Mourinho did drop him for courtois, whether it was the right decision or not, he'd still be upset.

Jkb, chill man. Like Ed said, they didn't post anything abusive. Just posted something that was related to Chelsea as well. No need to be so hostile.

Thanks for the support lads I've no intention of provoking anyone or deliberately upsetting anyone either, just to swap good honest football opinions and views with maybe the very occasional tongue very firmly in cheek very very light hearted banter.
Let's face it Sids joke below is funny :-) and anyone who isn't able to laugh at that needs to get over themselves and lighten up a bit.

Why wouldn't he try to scupper the deal he's one of he best keepers in the world of course he would want to keep him or atleast get a decent player back in return for areas we need cover = the Ox, I think he was just testing the water to see how much arsenal wanted cech! Well done lads you got your man in the end. no need to harp on about it now

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 11:13:01
I doubt he has that much of a grudge towards mourinho. After all he did bring him to the club and help him become the best keeper in the world and the first name on the team sheet at one of the best clubs in the world for a decade

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - Ranieri was the one who signed him, though the deal was only completed after Jose joined the club.}

30 Jun 2015 11:31:57
I'm probably looking a little too much into this, but is anyone else worried that Jose is really not happy about the Cech deal? I'm worried it could be the start of another fallout between Jose and Roman and I really don't want that to happen. For all that Roman has done for the club I don't want to criticise him but he cannot go against Mourinho's decisions, Jose is an absolute necessity for our club. I don't want another 10 managers in the next 10 years, some stability would be nice especially with a legend like Jose. Good luck Petr though, but disappointed with you but wish you the best. You'll always be in our hearts

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 11:37:12
Ah right I knew his first season was 04/05 so assumed Jose signed him

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - deal was set up and done by Ranieri but he was removed before it was completed. I am sure Jose would have signed off on it though, he would have no doubt had the choice to cancel the deal before completion.}

30 Jun 2015 11:42:49
It might cause a little bit of tension but surely nothing serious. After all, he was a club legend but he was always going to be a backup after courtois returned. I doubt Jose would have been happy with that fact he left for arsenal whereas abramovich seemed fine with that. Joses competitiveness is likely to have caused him to disagree with the move to arsenal but I'm sure no long term relationships will be damaged

Well Eds any snippets of good news to share to brighten the mood? :(

Still see arsenal a world class Centre back and Striker short in my honest opinion. Not to mention they have Wenger in charge. The signing of a couple of players like Begovic and Griezmann will definately give me the confidence of retaining the title though.

29 Jun 2015 18:24:39
Until arsenal perform when there's pressure on them I discount their title challenge. Adding petr will help them but they're still incredibly inconsistent (beit with injuries and player performance) and until Wegner prioritizes results over visual appeal they will continue to struggle.

As we all know the reason behind cechs transfer to Arsenal was because of family reasons, and wanting to stay in London. Well apparently there was a bit more to it according to my mate Arthur, who happens to be petr's window cleaner. He overheard Mrs Cech shouting at her husband about furniture and room space " you have 4 premier league trophies, 4 FA cup trophies, 3 league cup trophies, 2 community shield trophies, 1 Europa cup trophy and that damn champions league trophy. The trophy cabinet is full, we have no more room, we will have to move as it can't go on like this.". Apparently he sat down and thought to himself and said " that's ok love, we can stay here we won't need anymore room I will ask for a transfer to Arsenal.".

Quite agree word up, Arsenal have had great teams in the past and more history and trophies than Chelsea. That is not the point of the joke (I knew there would be someone from Arsenal who would post exactly as you have done) my dear fellow. Obviously my attempt at humour has gone over your head, which, judging by your post would be quite easy to do. So I will just say well done in signing a great goalkeeper, and hope Chelsea have come to your aid in building a successful team. As long as petr remembers what he learnt under Jose, and doesn't listen to Arsene too much then everything should be fine,

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 17:40:20
To be fair word up he actually listed the trophies that Chelsea had won since Petr Cech had been at Chelsea, not all the trophies that Chelsea have won. In that regard Chelsea's recent trophy haul puts Arsenal's in the shade. There is indeed the fact that we'll always be the first (and still as yet only) London club to win the European Cup.

lol sid,i didn't laugh because I thought it was infantile, but my 4 year old had a hoot, yes you did only mention the trophies won since PC arrived at the bridge, which is erm about 99% of all chelseas trophies, yes I do hope petr does come to our aid and I also hope he remembers what he was taught, just like cesc did and look what he did for chelsea, keep posting sid, this is soooooooo easy

Nice avoidance word up. You just keep on enjoying those trophies that Arsenal won before you were born and forget the fact that you bit on his joke without reading it properly.

That's was funny Sid :-) if you don't mind I might pinch that for our page.
If you can't laugh at yourself now and then there's something wrong especially when the jokes funny :-)
What ever that French word is for well done sir ( tu Shay or something :-) to you Sid.

What say guys,

Cuadrado + Oscar + 10m euro for pogba worth it?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

29 Jun 2015 13:56:14
I think from what I recall Juve are more interested in a deal where the majority of what the get is cash rather than players. They certainly seem interested in Oscar though and if the question is would you be willing to love Oscar so pogba could be brought in I would say yes. That said if pogba doesn't arrive there is zero reason Oscar should leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 14:32:15
Maybe they want Oscar to replace him going elsewhere,

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 15:56:14
Pogba's got a big ego he'd do well here then leave for barca/Madrid in a couple of years. Big Rubén for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 18:21:27
If that were to happen welsh we would be able to give them a triple digit asking price to make up for his loss. You don't hold off signing someone out of fear they'll move somewhere else.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 20:00:02
No. I wouldn't even do Oscar + 10 million for Pogba. Oscar has to stay.

Having seen a few of his performances in Italy and for Chelsea I think the Premiership is far to physical for him. He was dispossessed so may times last year or knocked off the ball it was embarrassing at times and an attacking full back.give me 'Dave' or Ivanovic every time. I thought it a strange buy and all in all a terrible waste of £27m.
