Hi ed
Is it possible chelsea are taking another look at whether costa is such a good buy, and maybe our money maybe better spent elsewhere.

He doesn't appear that quick and was nullified quite easily at World Cup.
I hope I am worrying over nothing.
Back to the question are the club still committed to buying him or are we having a touch of the seconds

{Ed018's Note - I don't think there has been any change. I still expect Costa at Chelsea next season because really what other striker on that level is avalible and is willing to come to Chelsea}

In an ideal world Zlatan decides he wants to conquer the premier league as well and takes a little wage cut to be able to join chelsea. How amazing dreams can be, right.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - not a very long term solution though}

Well Ed18 I have to agree with both your answers regarding Diego Costa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly, I think Costa will suit our style very well, but secondly, I was going to ask ed, have we shown any interest in Benzema, not seen much of him, but he's having a great world cup, however, I've heard he's very inconsistent, thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - no I don't believe Chelsea has}

Okay, thanks Ed, not too certain on him but I was just wondering as an alternative, any clubs currently interested in him or is it irrelevant? Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - I believe PSG and Arsenal have shown interest}

@Ed18
Mandzukic is just as good as Costa, but he is 3.5 year older though and i'm quite sure he's willing to come to Chelsea :)
There also was Immobile but he's already joined Dortmund.

If it's a dream, then Zlatan, being Zlatan, invents a time machine. He uses it to head back in time and tell young Zlatan to join Chelsea. but then Zlatan would have joined us ages ago wouldn't he? Arrrrgh I hate time paradoxes!

Hi Eds. Hope your enjoying the World Cup?

So if I understand correctly. Chelsea are interested in signing.a left back, a centre back, a holding midfielder and two strikers?

Thanks

{Ed018's Note - those are certainly areas they'd like to improve on.}

Without our blue tinted glasses on how good do we all think hazard is or can be?, I know it's hard to guess about players futures but after last season he progressed nicely with 14 league goals, which is quite good. I was hoping he was going to take the World Cup by storm and be in the top 3 players of the tournament then return to chelsea and score 20 plus goals next season and everybody knows he's 1 of the best in the world, because I speak to a lot of other fans and ask them for a unbiased opinion and they all pretty much say the same thing sometimes he's Awsome sometimes he's quite good and sometimes he's average, they tell me he's not world class yet because he's 24 in 6 months and he hasn't had a real top top season like say 30 goals and player of the season in England and top3 ballon dore nomination, they say he could get to frank ribery level but not ronaldo, messi, bales, or Suarez level just to name a few, realistically how does he compare to the likes of James rodreges, neymar, messi, aguero, falcao, goytze, Barkley, pogba, van Persie, robben, Sanchez, David silva, I know a lot of chelsea fans don't rate neymar but he's younger than hazard and scored sum thing like 40 goals already for Brazil and he done ok in his first injury hit season for barca, I've just tried to show how some fans have spoke to me about him, he's actually my favourite player in the world but there is a case that he's not in the top 10 best players in the world yet, he's never scored more than 20 goals in a season, he's inconsistent, he's 24 in 6 months time so he can't really be classed as a fresh faced young player for much longer, his goal return for belgium is poor really, will he ever be the best player in the world or will he just be a really good player capable of a world class game every now and again? What's everyone's unbiased opinion on him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - I only skimmed through this and all I can add is I really don't care what he does for Belgium. I only care what he does for Chelsea as long as he is a blue. And what is it today some sort of witch hunt for Hazard?}

If you don't skim and read it I state he's my favourite player in the world and explain how other fans have told me, and I was wondering what chelsea fans thought of him unbiased, you didn't answer the question you got defensive over him, slight misunderstanding I think ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - maybe. In my opinion Hazard will be world class in a season or two and I also put no stock in what goes on in the World Cup. He certainly could be playing a touch better.}

Any team in the world would take Hazard he class and he plays wide ans scored 14 goals a lot of people you said are strikers they should score more. Ok bale and a couple of others have done better but the english league is a lot more difficult than spain italy brazil german french league. I think Hazard in spain would hit the heights of bale neymar messi . Like ed said though not really that bothered as long as he's a chelsea player because on a serious note he's the best we've got.

Let's be fair, Belgium have been lucky to win all three of their group games and Hazard has set up two winning goals for them so he has made a difference. Now for Chelsea, he had 9 assists in the premier league last season and I am sure with a half decent striker he would have had a lot more. He can only be as good as the team mates around him and last season, especially in the striking department, they were simply not good enough. He has shown signs of brilliance but I do feel sometimes he just goes through the motions in matches and you barely notice him so if he wants to be considered as one of the best players he needs to be more consistent. Let's hope he carries on improving and with better strikers next season (fingers crossed) he can show what he is capable of.

Like Ed018 I'm always one of the first to stand by how awesome Eden is and now would be no different.
Though you made one good point in terms of his consistency but that's just all about where we agree. I think comparing him to some players is a little off. Messi is well messi, I don't think anyone would ever do what he and Ronaldo have done atleast no for a very long time. Suarez is a striker and also at his peak that said I don't think comparing them two either is right can say the same about Aguero. As for Bale he didn't score more goals than Hazard last season at Madrid or create more goal scoring oppurtunities for his team, I think with time Hazard can be just as good as Bale. Neymar now is the tricky one, let's be honest is he really as fantastic as he is billed up to be? Is he worth the money Barca payed, compared to what we payed for Hazard? Answer is clear no. Yes he does what he does at Brazil cause he is their all. At Barca he was average at best and hardly consistent. So my point comparing Hazard to other players who play different position and with better, should I set of players is off. Hazard for more than 2/3 of the season carried us all on his own ( and the defence but let's focus on Eden). I think under Jose he can really prevail and reach that height. He does show that lack of interest in games at times but when ever he gets the ball some thing always happens. Like Mou. Said "he has the magic". For 32mil he is a bargain in my eyes and I really think a little bit more he would be top 5 in the world. Maybe a little more effort from him, players around him perhaps? Or Jose's touch he could easily be the best player to wear our great jersy.

I think what he does at the world cup means nothing. And he does have two assits ( yeah I'm just throwing this one out there:). Plus like what Ed018 said. All that matters is what he does for us and so far in 2 seasons 33 goals and 37assists give or take from him is more than a decent return. My unbias view. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I pretty much agree with your views, I had to go quite far with the negative points because it's just to easy to say he's the best player in the world 23 and under, I think he's world class at the moment and I would definitely take him over neymar, I do believe his Belgium form matters though because it helps form and confidence if he's playing good for them as well as us, I think and hope he will be the number 1 player in the world when messi and ronaldo are done, I hope he plays with more freedom next season and to be honest I don't want to see him running back blocking crosses, I want him high up reserving his energy to attack and get 1 on 1 more often instead of in his own half with 5/6 players to beat and he will get 30 goals a season in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

I note your statement how he may reach Ribera level. Sorry if he gets that bad then we need to sell.
If you say he maybe on a par with robben then that's the direction he needs to be going in, I don't mean falling over if the wind blows, but is quick and can glide past people and land crosses on a sixpence.
As long as his head isn't turned by psg.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - who is Ribera?}

29 Jun 2014 13:01:03
Hi eds would u say pogba likely destination is psg and can they afford him due to ffp

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - absolutely. They will try to sell players to free up some money. They want a big name French player and Pogba would fit that. Let's hope though Chelsea can convince this guy to join}

29 Jun 2014 18:03:44
I think I already know the answer to this one but do we have any interest in James "Ham-es" Rodriguez? He has been ace for Colombia and was good for monaco last year too. Thanks in advance ed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - no}

Thanks for response Ed018, but shouldn't we be interested, if we want as we should really skilled Suarez without the biting style goalscorer as well as physical presence of seemingly less skilled Costa?Or Sanchez if not Rodriguez.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - sure we should. I like him as much as you do but I'm only going on what I was told. Maybe that'll change in the future}

Thanks for response, appreciated

I know he only moved last summer, but has there been any interest in James Rodriguez ed? He is having an unbelievable world cup.
