There's "banter" and there's "bickering" a few bad results and everyone has the blues? Not like we as Chelsea fans have never gone through this before! And everyone seems to forget we won the league at a canter with these same players only a couple of months ago now all of a sudden we need 10 new player to have a chance again! The talent is there ten fold, in my opinion there's a pscological aspect as to why we're not getting results! Sonthing going on behind closed doors, maybe something to do with Eva I really don't know! We play in a good league with teams strengthening all the time the days of the United era of winning it every year are long gone now. That we need to come to terms with! We have a very good squad a mix of youth and experience and we are very well capable of winning the league, don't get me wrong we need another decent striker to fire on all fronts but other than that I'm very happy! Maybe we should all try and be a bit more positive after all we support the greatest club in the world :) COYB

JCFC: It is not the bad results, it is the way we are playing and in some respects the body language of some players. We won well last year because we got out front but I did not see it as a 'canter' as we were fading fast towards the end. We do not need ten new players but there are problems and not least and this seems a common theme here and this weekends press, Matic and Fabregas do not work and I think Matic is the one suffering. Unless we are on top and dominating Fabregas becomes a liability so to me, if he starts we haul him off if we have to dig in or do not start with him if it is likely to be a nip and tuck game. I and others are also baffled about a £20m+ spend on a player that does not play or get on the bench sometimes in a position where we could benefit. I agree there 'appears' to be some undercurrent at the Club that is not getting any press and if you dig deep it could be one of several things but on Saturday match time you would think it the perfect time to forget everything. I also agree about the striker, one in a Drogba mould, good in the air with a decent shot in both feet, Remy does not do it for me and I am very disappointed with Costa. All subscribers came into the season positive that we would be one year wiser as a team and pressing at the top and we are now disappointed because there appears no end to our problems.

Biggest issue is effort and hustle etc. for me. Against Newcastle we lost almost every 50/50 ball during the first half. We were outworked. And it's not the first time that's happened this season.
Then when we go down 1 or 2, suddenly the hustle returns and they start performing leading to periods where we dominate play like we did in the 2nd half (terrible marking on that 1 corner from Fab aside they didn't get a sniff of goal). If they can just play full games giving 100% and acting like they give a damn then we'd win most games, even against the bigger teams. Our squad is good, the effort just has to be there.

I just think that Jose realised we needed a couple of world class players in the summer, a defender and centre defensive midfield, and feels let down by the board. Added to that the dramatic loss of form of Terry and especially Iva, and we will struggle.

i blame 80% of our problems on one player: IVANOVIC! 80% of the silly goals we have been conceding either came from his side or he's own rubbish defending and judgement!

Great post frensham I agree with most of your points the baba rahman situation baffles me completely can't even get on the bench consider how bad brana has been I don't care who you are or what you have done if you don't deserve your place you shouldn't be playing! It's basically saying to the players no matter what you do in training it makes no difference( look at shurrles comments on ssn today) that can't be good for moral also! I love ivanovic he's been a beast for years and I couldn't fault him until this season! He needs to be sat out or even intergrated into the centre a bit more! Costa hasn't done it so far but I think he will come good! Remy I disagree with you on I like him he is a decent back up player who will chip in! Falcao I had high hopes for but now I realise unless he is playing week in week out as number one he will never live to the height he once did! Shame lukaku couldn't wait for his chance because he would be playing a lot for us now! There really is no strikers around at the moment is a shame! Our biggest asset matic last year cleaned up better than a dyson this year he's struggling a little, let's be fair he out most important player imo one good thing about the Newcastle result was the fact mourinho act silly admitted we were terrible! If he had done his usual saying we were great I would have lost all respect for him! I'm looking foward to improvement which will come. Going to be a lon season but we can still take a lot from it!

Our players are drained from last season, emotionally and psychologically. The same thing has happened to MU and Man.City in previous seasons after they won PL.
Mourinho has to change formation and tactics. We have to press higher so that opponents CMs can't organize game freely as we let our opponents to do.
Blaming one player for everything is at least ridiculous since we don't create chances. To depend only on our defenders is very very wrong.

Just a point to remember. While everyone keeps harping on about giving the youth a chance, which I agree with to a degree, Crystal Palace went with Gayle instead of Bamford today, with their two most recognised strikers injured. So even though we might right these kids, those at the top think far less of them. They are still considered talented, but not yet ready.

Same goes for RLC and Kenedy. They have looked goid when they've played, but generally that's been against poor opposition. Like Hazard said, if they play, and play poorly, most on here will immediately ask for someone else. Its important they become a part of the XI slowly, if at all. At mid table teams like Liverpool, they can afford to give youth a run, as their first team is terrible, ours is just searching for form.

Exactly. People on here (and in general) are so unrealistic. They want trophies as well as youths brought through. In England it's not that easy

With regards to Bamford, I think it's also got a lot to do with the fact that Gayle is their player while Bamford is only on loan. If you have to choose between a player that will be here in the future or a player that will most likely be gone next season, it's not a difficult decision. So unless he can show he's clearly a better option than the other strikers, he probably won't see a lot of minutes this season.

I expected Bamford to play a lot more than he has. I have such high expectations of him, quite disappointing really.

Gayle is in form lately. He scored hat trick last week. Off course he will get a chance before Bamford.
