"From what i've seen a from a neutral is that carlo ancelotti has never been a manager that goes out and spends he had funds at Ac he only really bought kaka this was when he was young and bought him the system, he also bought pato also a young prospect who didn't cost much he always insisted that his team didn't need new players, i think if chelsea had mourinho or any other manager in charge they would be more positive in the transfer market and try to improve the squad"

~This is why Carlo was brought in, he has won the Champions League without investing heavily, it was not his choice not to buy players, control freaks like Roman is controlling him and the team, Berlusconi controlled him and the AC Milan team. Carlo is no more than a puppet on a string being controlled by Roman.

Roman expects Carlo to win things with the squad he has inherited, basically on a shoestring budget. This is why he was brought in. Managers like Jose need money to succeed. Carlo is a good manager with little to spend.

You are kind of missing the point guys, its Roman who does not want to invest, not Carlo.

Ed is this why Carlo was brought in?

Chelsea has a few hard years ahead of them. Without their suggardaddy they won't be able to compete with Arsenal or Manchester United financially.

The first sign is that they try very hard to lower their wages.

Expect some minor transfers in the next transfer windows, if nobody of the bigguns is sold. A talented/young midfielder and a cheap backup defender are on their agenda.

That said Chelsea do have some very good youngsters which will help them a lot when they can't compete for the "big names" anymore. Sturridge, McEachran, Van Aanholdt, Kakuta and Bruma are some exciting prospects.

Even if some of my sources say that Kakuta is heavily interested in a transfer to ManU, where he could get nearly double the wages Chelsea are offering him.

Ancelotti is an admirer of alonso though? {ed's note - yes but his price tag and wages would be too high for a player who will be 30 next season.}

All you so called chelsea fans who don't know who carlos edvardo is, and for frank lampard for kaka, you must be joking, bad result today , better change the manager, tea lady, the man that selles the pies, or dig deep in the pocket and buy the premiership AGAIN

28 Nov 2010 22:04:35

Hey Ed, if Xabi Alonso has to make way for Bastian Schweinsteiger if he is to move to Real Madrid, do you think Chelsea will make a move for the out of favour midfielder? {ed's note - no I don't think Chelsea would move for him, but I do think he will be the one to make way if Schweinsteiger joins Madrid.}

Hey Ed, can you explain this whole Chelsea selling their naming rights dilemma.

{Editor's Note: The naming rights to the stadium are available at the right price.}

Schweinsteiger to Chelsea. Chelsea needs him as Mikel does not do the job quite efficiently. Dont take anything away from Mikel, hes a fantastic player but he does not contribute to the attack and often needs Essien to bail him out.For me Chelsea are leading the race to sign the prolific German reason for this is that other rivals vying for his signature would not offer the same deal as we would.

Real Madrid are thought to be where he wants to go but considering the club is settle with its current crop of players and they 5 players competing for that holding role well I don't see why Mourinho would want to sign him unless he's trying to get back at Chelsea.

Man Untied are reportedly weighing up a 12mil pound bid for the German in January as they think we and City will out bid them in the summer. Other than that, they want a replacement for Scholes and they think Schweni is the player to do so. They really have nothing else to offer except for history and probably ambition. If they win the prem they may have a chance to get him.

City could only offer money and broken promises.

Chelsea could offer him first team football and line him up with players of prestige and superstar quality. Schweini talked up a move to Chelsea in the summer and specifically pointed out that he would love to play along with Dorgba and Lampard. We're a great club which is moving forward although we're in a slump which nearly all clubs go through. We don't have history to offer as both Madrid and Manchester but we are going to create some in the coming years. If we persuaded Ballack probably the best German player of the last decade not because of a fat contract but because we were ambitious and had a plan, then I think we could very well persuade Schweinsteiger to join us. His price tag won't command much in the summer as he will only have one year remaining in his deal. Wages, well if he is willing to accept 80k per week well I think he might as well be a Chelsea player already.What's your thoughts ed?

{Editor's NOte: He would be a good catch - but I somehow doubt he will be moving to Chelsea.}

Hey Ed, is there any more problems in the "back room" at Chelsea because things are not looking good as we had another bad result today although we did not lose. Also there are rumours that Carlo is ready to quit Chelsea at the end of the season with Abramovich lining up Pep Guardiola to replace him.

{Editor's Note: I am sure everything will be OK - clearly recent results have not gone the way of Chelsea. Some of this can be blamed on Essian's dreadful tackle for which he rightly got sent off, and John Terry not being fit. However, they are simply excuses. Just one of those things - Chelsea will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.}

"SHARKEY, I AM NOT SUGGESTING FOR ONE MOMENT THAT I AM INTELLIGENT AND YOU ARE NOT INTELLIGENT AS CLEARLY YOU ARE AN INTELLIGENT PERSON, I MEANT THE INTELLIGENT GUYS THAT I KNOW, WELL GUYS AND ONE YOUNG LADY. I GET MUCH OF MY INFORMATION THROUGH THEM, DON'T GET ME WRONG THEY DO NOT TELL THE WORLD WHAT THEY TALK ABOUT BUT IT CERTAINLY CONCERNS THEM.

I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BUT SOMETIMES I GET THE FEELING YOU THINK EVERYTHING IS OKAY ALL OF THE TIME, THAT WE ARE NOT DESPERATELY TYING TO FIND SPONSORS, THAT WE ARE NOT TRYING TO DRASTICALLY REDUCE OUR WAGE BILL. IF YOU SAY YOU DO KNOW STUFF THEN HOW COME YOU DO NOT SHARE THE SAME CONCERNS AS MANY "INFORMED" CHELSEA FANS?

I GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO AGREE TO DISAGREE, BUT I WANT TO CONFIRM AGAIN THAT I WAS NOT CALLING YOU A FOOL OR SAYING YOU WERE NOT INTELLIGENT."

The problem is the scaremongering. You started this thread by naming seven members of staff supposedly sacked by the owner. This is out and out scaremongering - nothing less. After I explained that you were simply wrong in all of that, you moved on to the ill founded views of your paranoid omnipotent super friends.

All clubs are seeking sponsorship by the way - it is the nature of the business and not a secret sign to the downfall of Chelsea.

Sharkey.
