I know it's not as simple as this but if PSG offered Lavezzi plus 15-20 million would our fellow blues accept it?

I think I'd definately consider it.

{Ed018's Note - so they are gonna give Chelsea Lavezzi and 15-20 million?! Count me in}

28 May 2014 22:29:11
Yes yes yes. Not to be ungrateful but do you think they'll offer to pay his wages also?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lavezzi's 29 so you're not going to pay stupid money for him are we? Were as oscar's 22 got great potential but been poor since January.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - but no where in your original post was Oscar mentioned}

Well I've messed this up haven't i! I meant 15 - 20 million plus Lavezzi for Oscar

Agree0 Disagree0

No way would I accept that!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd prefer Cavani, Costa and Iturbe/Markovic as our front 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

That shouldn't even be taken into consideration. Oscar has a long future ahead of him, and that values Oscar at about £30m, and he is worth a bit more than that, and will be worth a lot more in the future. Oscar's season went downhill due to fatigue, more and more training, and the more mature he gets, the better and more consistent he will get!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that Oscar has a lot of potential and his form dipped because of fatigue, but I'm not sure that he'll be at his best this season as he'll have played in the WC. Fatigue I think will always be an issue. With Brazil friendlies always taking place far away, the only way we'll see the best out of him is if he improves his fitness. I hope that he does because I think he could become a great player.

Oscar needs a break. Selling him will not be the wisest decision.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oscar has played more football than anyone I can think of over the past few seasons. He has played in the olympics, confed cup and now world cup so he hasn't really had a break for over three years. His drop in form was purely down to fatigue. We should give him a slightly longer break at the end of the season like we did with Mata I think so he can get a prolonged rest. Also to be honest I would be asking for at least the money we received for Luiz considering Oscar was given the Brazil number 10 shirt when he was just 21 and has fantastic potential. He is also the sort of player people like watching. In today's market he is worth at least £50m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oscar was poor not because he's played so much football. That's rubbish. I bet he doesn't job tackles in Brazil. He had one eye on the World Cup. The other reason was mata leaving, didn't think he had to fight to play anymore! Simple as that.

Ed018 do u see us getting Luke shaw?

And what other signing to u see us getting from the ones ed002 has mentioned?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - only if the price for Shaw comes down. I have no idea on how much that is or anything like that. Just going by what Ed002 has mentioned}

Cheers bud

Agree0 Disagree0

The price is ridiculous. Especially as we have van aanholt! Look how much we let Sturidge go for! He's English and young.

Reportedly sold luiz for 48 million.
Reportedly signing lavezzi for 16million
Costa 32million
Tiago free .
If this is true we would have improved our squad without dipping into our transfer kitty.
If we use last year as a bench mark we complied with ffp while signing 6 players zouma 12 mill,
Matic 21.5 mill
Willian 30 mill
Salah 12 mill
Shurtle 18 mill
Eto free, total =93.5 million off set with 56 mill mata + debruyne.
The season before we won the Europa lge which I was told is worth 12 million to win, this season we got to champs lge semi worth 25-30 million, plus this season the new Adidas deal kicks in worth 30 million a season and extra ssn money available, I'm not talking fantasy football or FIFA but we could sign 2/3 top top players ontop of the 3 I mentioned is 6 same as last season, we now have a chance to sign the likes of felipe luis, mangela, pogba added to costa, tiago, lavezzi < signed as a second striker type not winger or number 10 .
I really believe a team similar to this is very realistic and achievable!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I highly doubt its that straight forward and you seem to have pulled those numbers out of thin air

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah those rumours have been doing the rounds for weeks and openly talked about on here mangela said last week that he loves the premiership and he would prefer London to Manchester, Costa is pretty much a sure thing and edd 002 has said it looks likely that tiago may come in as cover, as for lavezzi we've been linked on and off for a few seasons and this morning on 3 internet sites and 2 papers, this is a rumour site and those 3 are rumours understand yet? . The other 3 was wishing same as all the other fans, so not quite out of thin air as you so nievely put it! Ps do you have a TV or acces to a device to search these types of things so your kept in the loop?

Agree0 Disagree0

Would much rather have Shaw, Varane and Pogba to be fair.

Hi Ed, on a scale of Mario Mandzucic to Diego Costa, how close are we to signing Edinson Cavani? Thanks

Hi Ed, are you on Football Manager under the Chelsea staff? Looking to give you a new contract and a payrise if so.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - That's a game isn't it?}

It is indeed but the staffing is very accurate. Just wondered if your featured on there alongside Piet De Visser etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of kids games and am not a member of the staff. For that matter neither is Piet - he works on a consultancy basis and is soon the celebrate his 80th birthday.}

Ed, would you mind me asking what you and the other Eds do for a living and how you know so much about clubs and transfers etc, I've always been curious

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - All of the Eds do different things for a living.}

Tiago Coming, That Could Mean That Costa Is Next. He Might Be Given A Year Contract & Will Help New Striker Setteling In Team. Chelsea Had Made Similar Deal Earlier Also, When They Bought Yousi Benayoun To Help Torres To Settle In. But That Time The Plan Did Not Work As Intended. Hope Things Are Better This Time. And Moreover He Is One Of The Players Like Zalatan, Whom Jose Has Trusted For Years.

We Have To Make Sure That We Have Few Non- Complaining Backup Players, Who Play For Team With 100 percent Effort. You Can Not Have A team Where you Have Two Super stars playing For A Single Position. Last Season if Mata Had Been There, We Have To Tinker Team After Every Second Match To Fit Him In & Give Him Play Time. With Tiago, Essien Type People That Will Not Be A Problem.

The ability in our youth teams has to have an impact on our summer transfer activities, particularly in midfield where Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathan Baker are surely destined for the first team in two years or so.

For this reason I see the potential re-signing of Tiago from Atletico Madrid, on a short term contract, as really good business. He has been really good for Atletico and should perform well for another year or two whilst, hopefully, the progression of Loftus-Cheek and Baker is managed in a responsible manor seeing them become first team regulars.

I also think Chalobah should be retained in the first team or maybe get a Premier League loan, either way he defo needs to make the step up from the Championship this season.

Much was made of the English core (Terry, Lampard, A.Cole & J. Cole etc.) at the heart of Mourinho's first time at the club. With the potential signings of players such as Luke Shaw and John Stones added to the aforementioned players and the likes of Izzy Brown and Dominic Solanke we could see an English core again in the not too distant future.

I'd much rather see that come to fruition than expensive players coming in from abroad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lewis baker you mean?

Agree0 Disagree0

Erm. yes!

If things got any better in situation with lukaku then lukaku involved in some sort deal involving Rues would be nice.

Bringing back tiago will help costa settle in and be good to have some
Experience for the younger players, but only of they will be given a chance, we still need that world class, pogba Vidal Kroos type player to play alongside matic otherwise we should of kept Luiz and played him there, I think it's going to be aomg long summer full of rumours and maybe disappointment, we need
2 world class goalscorers
1 world class CM
1 decent CB with potential
1 brilliant LB
Also a question. , how good really is rakitic of Sevilla?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We really don't need any more 'decent cbs'. we already have terry, cahill, ivanovic, kalas, zouma and omeruo - a mix of experienced, old and young potential centre backs. we are massively covered in that position.
as for goalscorers we should go for one world class striker and make lukaku as our second one. he's still so young and got huge potential he deserves his chance at chelsea this next season.
and as for cm, we got van ginkel, ake, baker and even oscar who could play alongside matic. so the main priority is shaw, and a world class forward and that would be enough
