Don't rule out Alonso also, I think Conte views Brana as more of a centre back (wisely in my view, we all know his right back years are over and he is unsuited for RWB when we revert to 3-5-2) that would give us Aina and Dave on the right and Alonso and Rodriguez for the left.

Ed018 since Ivanovic arrived to Chelsea he was the first choice defender to all different managers who were managing Chelsea. So, Conte is not different from others considering Ivanovic but is he (Ivanovic) going to be first choice RB or CB depends on tactical approach from Conte.
When Dave plays on the right side he tends to go forward to often and he gets out of position frequently. When he (Azpilicueta) plays on the left side he goes forward occasionally and that is why he is not bought out of position but then we do not have wide play from our left side.

I didn't get to watch the game vs Burnley but I watched the highlights and I thought we played great. It could have been 5 or 6-0. But we need to take more chances especially Costa he missed a few easy ones as did John Terry. Despite our terrific performance I still think we should start Costa and Batshauyi up front together and I was a little disappointed when I read the team sheet yesterday.

Few weeks ago, conte refused to take questions from S*n tabloid, he was very blunt in telling journo that he won't take questions from him as he was from S*n. And S*n today are reporting that conte has told cesc to leave, courtois to be sold. Can't these liers promoting yellow journalism be sued. Do you really think that Conte would give up world class player for good promising CM? Newspaper have to write something so they are writing all kind of BS(latest is about Fabregas). You are free to believe in Santa if you want, but try to think more realistic. Conte changed Chelsea significantly in tactical order(IMO on better).He wants to play with 3 CMs and 4141 is closest to his type of 352. IHO Oscar is fitting better than Fabregas but he probably has in mind that Fabregas has clinical pass and Oscar doesn't. So I believe that he will rotate those 2 players.
If we really sign Marcelo Brozovic(btw I like the player)all I can see is another loan for Chalobah. ATM we need left back and if there is any possibility left footed central back.

I think when we have the 3 centre backs on, Ie return of Zouma and a new signing, cesc will start a lot more. We will see how we start doing over the next month here on, we've had a good start but against weaker teams. We're going to need a creater against the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and arsenal. I think we'll struggle without his influence.

For what it's worth I don't believe in Santa, and I figured (given where the reports came from) it was just Brozovic's agent drumming up interest.
Regardless, I'm not convinced Conte will see Cesc as a starter and that may make him a restless player.
I think Matic will stay and play a lot this season.

There's been a ton of complaining of late about the clubs necessity to bring in a left back and centre half so I thought I would pose a question. If the club can only sign one position or the other, which position would you make a signing at? For me i'd rather have a left back because I'm not sold on ivanovic at right back and feel that moving Dave over there would help him provide more in attack. I also think we have far less depth out wide as Zouma should be back before November and Ivanovic is far more suited to centrehalf. What do you guys think?

I'd rather see a left back come in too. Rahman was apparently loaned out due to the fact he was too attacking, taking that into consideration I can't imagine Conte plans on moving, from the back four, to wing backs.
Terry, Cahill, Zouma and Ivanovic can all do a job at CB, as I'm sure could Clarke-Salter, but I also don't trust Ivanovic at RB. I'm glad to see Aina sticking around and his ability to play on either flank is brilliant but a new LB is our biggest need.

Have to agree with Tk. A left back. Rahman was a weak defender and never got back quick enough when he attacked; although he could put a decent cross over. Ivanovic is a liability at right back nowadays but can still do a job in the centre whilst we wait for Zouma or someone coming in.
