3 - 2 defeat for the U18's tonight but that didn't tell the story, the boys played very well.

Thought Musonda looked immense when he came on and RLC as always great on the ball, 2nd leg at the bridge we can do it.

So poor from set plays tonight though, and Christensen made some poor decisions such as turning his back for the second goal. Such a highly regarded player, he's got to cut that out of his game. Other than that, great performance all round. Feeling a 2-0 home win next leg.

Yeah I agree showed his age lossing his man, didn't you think 1st half he looked fantastic though?

Seemed a totally different player in the first half to the second. Totally lacked the strength and belief he had in the first half. But that's one game, on to the next for them.

ELI don't be so confident that Chelsea can beat Atletico easily. It's a great team with fantastic tactics, coach and players. They're not in front of RM and Barcelona by accident. It's going to be extremely tough game. What I am confident if Chelsea passes Atletico Chelsea will win CL.

I'm not confident we will beat atletico "all so easily" but i'm confident the lads will do their best and as a fan that's all I can ask for. I know Athletico are going to be tough but we are no push overs either. So if you don't mind I'll gracefully say it again. Bring on Atletico.

As we learned from the Ancelotti days, Jose owns Carlo in big time games, so let's hope for a victory over Atletico and RM over Bayern tomorrow.

Darn, I read the poll as WILL Ashely Cole get a new contract, not would I like him to.
Personally, if he's prepared to take a pay cut, as he must be one of our top earners, I'd say another year at least he could easily manage, I'd love for him to stay on.

What do you guys think?

I've read Real Madrid wants to sign him.

He has been great for the club but the time has come he won't accept a one year deal and his wages are huge same for Lampard who is my favorite ever player to wear the shirt but I honestly think it is just the right time should we let both him and Cole go and offload Torres it frees up a huge amount of pay that we could allocate to two world class forwards.

To be honest I think his time to move on has come. Jose clearly doesn't trust him. Bring in Moreno or Shaw with significantly lower wages and build for the future.

I am really hoping we are not still in the market for a centre back. We've got Zouma, Kalas, Christensen, Chalobah, Omeruo who all could make the step up and succeed. No need to waste money.

I agree also however were there a slim chance to get varane the club shouldn't hesitate a future pair of him and zouma would be incredible.

Agree with Lampsy. I don't think there's any need to buy some more cb's of around 18-21 years old, except if we can get Varane. He's just too big of a talent to pass up on. Varane and any one of Kalas, Omeruo or Zouma could be a starting partnership already next year in 'smaller' games. Kalas impressed me immensely yesterday.

I agree with Jackson and Lampsy. No CB needed, except if the opportunity to sign Varane arises.
