I personally think we should look at signing one more attacking winger.
We have Hazard, Pedro and Willian but we should get one more.

Looks like Vitolo could be the answer.

Agree0 Disagree2

28 Jun 2017 05:38:39
No need of any superstar on wing ( though we all will love it) but we do really need depth in squad.
Any young player from our academy who can play on wing and capable of doing job when called upon will do it.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jun 2017 23:33:20
We will not win the CL by bringing in a 'squad player' OR by promoting a young player from the academy. AC is looking for upgrades to the existing starting 11.

27 Jun 2017 18:23:13
I think it's a real pity if Matic, as seems likely, leaves for United (of all places - Italian league would have been less painful) . But how many on here think that Bakayoko is an upgrade, and if so why - beyond fact that he is younger?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

27 Jun 2017 18:39:47
Matic is a donkey mate he's had a decent season the year we won the league but has offered nothing since slow akward lanky poor on the ball never scores goals i just don't see what he offers us he won't be amy loss for me.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 19:18:52
i think bakayoko is better i watched a lot of the french league and monaco, he had 1000 passes last season and 800 went forward, he's more athletic than matic, has better vision, has a better tackle per game ratio than matic, more interceptions per game than matic, is actually stronger than matic, i would say looks slightly faster, based on what i seen of him last season im really excited we got him he will be class for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 20:07:35
Matic has been useless for awhile. I didn't expect his decline since winning the league a few years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 22:50:38
Theres a number of things for me, but I'll focus purely on Nemanja. For starters Matic is 29 and he hasn't been close to the same player since Ashley Barnes tried to break his leg. If we were talking about that matic then it would be a completely different story but he hasn't shown that for over 2 seasons. He also lacks pace and doesn't cover a ton of ground but does provide tactical discipline to make up for that. He also isn't very physical for his size as I don't remember him winning a ton of headers or just dominating people physically. Finally he doesn't do a ton with the ball; while he's good at playing the safe ball he doesn't open the field up and doesn't provide really any goal threat. Finally he has 2 years left on his contract so this is the time to either renew or sell.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jun 2017 06:40:58
I think Matic in his prime dominated Yaya against man city and I loved watching it.
However sadly he continued fading day by day. I still think we should not sell him to man utd unless we are getting more money for him compared to other club.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jun 2017 23:35:55
JBS, search the internet for videos on Bakayoko, he is an upgrade on Matic. Good signing IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 15:32:25
OK thanks for all opinions, makes me feel a bit better about prospect of Matic leaving!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 17:06:53
With Sandro coming in, most likely, would it be unreasonable to see Alonso being put into the LCB spot instead of Cahill? I feel as if Alonso played too well to be exiled to the bench, but the same can be said for all of our back line. Just an idea, thoughts?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

27 Jun 2017 17:23:30
I agree matt i would imagine its alonsos lack of pace out wide is why conte went for sandro he's no slouch don't get me wrong but he might be better suited at centre bacj.

Agree1 Disagree2

27 Jun 2017 16:06:35
Duncan " unreliable " castles reporting conte and Chelsea want to add to bakyoko and Sandro ( both not even signed ) and add another CM a CB, RB/ RWB, winger and 2 strikers. great news if we wanna spend 400m.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

27 Jun 2017 16:13:10
Oh and report also says if conte doesn't get this he is ready to walk away from Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Have you been playing on Twitter.}

27 Jun 2017 16:21:54
Id say the cb will be christianson bud amd the 2 strikers will depend on lukaku and michy futures. rwb azpi wil probably roatate with moses so id say personally i hope we add to our squad but a lot will depend on ins and outs.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jun 2017 18:17:05
Duncan Castles is an idiot. He's got his head so far up Mourinho's ass he doesn't know what's going on in the real world.

Ed001, got a question for you. Don't know if you keep in touch with Chelsea news, but Ed002 is travelling again so thought asking you was worth a shot :-)

Bakayoko seems to be joining us after all, which is good news obviously. However, Matic seems to be close to switching to United sadly. If both deals go through we'd still only have Bakayoko, Kante, Fabregas and Chalobah as CM options. Last season we didn't have European football, nor did we have any long term injuries to midfielders. However, next season we have CL commitments again, plus there's always the risk of injuries. On top of that it seems like Conte doesn't trust Fabregas fully in a 2 man CM formation (which I agree with) .

Now the question. Would the club look to sign a second CM as well if Matic were to leave? Or do you think they'd be happy with only 4 options, being Bakayoko, Kante, Chalobah and Fabregas? Getting Naby Keita on top of Bakayoko would be godly.
Thanks for any help.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - you have 4 for 2 spots, then there are the likes of Luiz who can provide emergency cover there in times of need mate. Off the top of my head, I don't remember hearing of anyone else being targeted, to come in as well.}

27 Jun 2017 13:46:17
Neves and golovin been linked on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 13:46:28
Hmm crap, I was really hoping we'd push for Naby Keita. Also, I'd understand it if Ake was staying with the team as his ideal position might very well be in midfield. But it seems increasingly likely he'll be sold so that's another depth option gone.
It does mean Chalobah (and maybe even Baker? ) might be entrusted with a bigger role, which would be a good sign.

Our CB options are dwindling as well. Ake probably leaving, Ed002 has stated Zouma might very well leave as well, and Terry is gone. That leaves us with Luiz, Cahill, Azpi and Christensen. 4 for 3 positions is kinda on the light side, especially with Azpi potentially having to provide cover and games at RWB where we only have Moses. So I doubt Luiz is seen as a midfield depth option (unless it's an emergency situation) . Van Dijk is too expensive, Bonucci isn't leaving Juve, and that Davinson Sanchez is keen on Barcelona. It'll be interesting to see how the club handle things this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Alonso can play centre back, he was playing LCB before he arrived.}

27 Jun 2017 13:58:59
Oh yeah that's right, Ed! He's not the most ideal CB, but he can do a job there. Although that would require us to buy another leftback. Could Alex Sandro really be joining? :-P I'd be ecstatic.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I personally expect it to happen. I am just surprised there has been no one brought in for the right yet.}

27 Jun 2017 14:16:21
I don't see an ideal target for RWB though, Ed. Semedo would be outstanding, but it seems like it'll be United or Barcelona for him (hopefully Barca) .
In my opinion Azpi could do a fine job at RWB. He's not as good of a dribbler as Moses, but we don't desperately need that from him. He's miles better defensively, his passing is crisp and he doesn't dwell on the ball. His crossing/ final ball is also better than Moses' in my personal opinion.

Sandro-New CB-Christensen-Luiz-Azpi would be an insane backline. With Kante-Bakayoko in front of that, it'll take a very good attack to break it.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I agree that looks an excellent line up.}

27 Jun 2017 14:29:02
Maybe a little short of attacking quality in midfield, so the front players would have to be top notch. Although Luiz, Christensen and Sandro are all excellent on the ball so could help out in attack.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 16:09:23
Ud hope someone like musonda might be blooded in as attacking option time will tell.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 16:23:56
Alonso any good at cb edd id say hed be decent win a lot of headers big strong lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I have never seen him play it, but he was supposed to be decent enough for it to have been where he was expected to play when he signed.}

27 Jun 2017 17:25:02
Interested plenty of our defenders and good for rotation so azpi centre back and right back alonso left back centre back luiz centre back defensive mid.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 21:14:45
And what about Baker lads? Probably can take place of RLC.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 23:45:09
He didn't stand out in the under 21 championships for me he was average so don't see how he would threaten for even a squad place a loan in england would be best option to see if he has what it takes.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 10:14:45
Iv heard over last few years englands underage talent and youth system is poor and no talent coming through because the pl teams keep buying and not giving youth a chance. i would agree highly with that. look at chelsea we are the absoloute worst of all. de bruyne lukaku soon to be ake traore etc wev let massive talents go because either we can't accomadate them because of the high quality of our squad or else there deemed not ready or good enough. what are you guys thoughts on youth players trying to break through england have been critisiced heavily in recent years over it what are your guys thoughts and edds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - it is a big problem, the rewards are so great in the Prem that no one is prepared to take a chance on failure and missing out on those rewards by playing youth.}

27 Jun 2017 15:43:13
I hear ya edd thanks for the reply. would like to see christiansen intergrated this year do u feel he might have a shot at first 11 . who do ya reckon can replace costa seems lukaku is a banker.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - if he stays I am sure we will see him play, he looks a quality defender. It does seem certain to be Lukaku to replace Costa, though I personally feel that is not a good choice.}

27 Jun 2017 16:03:21
I agree i hate watching lukaku his link up play is shocking he's bot very fast his touch is woeful an it seems lime some games completely drift bye him. would u think bakayoko will ruin chalobahs chance in the team or do u feel hel still play more over cl football. be great if christianson makes d break through finally a youth star making it would be brilliant for the club. any idea what's happening with baker and musonda loan maybe? I no edd 02 mentioned loftus cheek wil go on loan and zouma loaned or sold. ake aswell on that list . what's your thoughts on michy do ya reckon hel be kept around.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I expect Chalobah to get a lot of chances, Conte uses his subs well and you will have a lot more games next season too. Last I heard Musonda and Baker were likely to be loaned out, but that was a few weeks back. Personally Batshuayi has not impressed me at all, he is a bit Lukaku-esque in terms of his touch whenever I see him. I think it will depend on who is brought in as to what happens to him. If Conte can, I am sure he will replace him.}

27 Jun 2017 16:14:38
The board really seem to be behind conte now don't they backing him for bakayoko and sandro. any idea how many he wants brought in we all no a left back a midfielder and a striker any wingers or does he see pedro willian an hazard enough up top . would ya think they will use bats in a deal to bring someone else in. i personally feel conte doesn't want lukaku. i think hed rather morata but edd 02 stated before that someone at chelsea insists and keeps pushing for lukaku . would conte like to upgrade on moses or will he end up pushin azpi out der maybe . thanks for replys edd enjoy the chat edd 02 doesn't often come across very chatty i suppose over people constantly annoying him with same questions.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Ed002 is very chatty in the right circumstances and about the right things, but he does have to put up with endless repeat questions on the sites, so he doesn't tend to have much time or patience left, understandably.

The club is targeting Champions League, that is what Roman sees as the aim of the club, to win it. I believe that there is just a striker or two and a winger to come, though it depends on the other striker. From what I can gather, Morata was preferred due to being able to play on the wing as well.}

27 Jun 2017 16:32:46
Ah yes i hear u edd and certainly im not knockin edd 02 he does great work for us fans an we all apreciate it. ya certainly at the price madrid are throwing morata around for i would say its safe to say chelsea won't be held to randsom for morata or anyone for that matter. any winger or striker ud think would suit chelseas formation. not asking who we should sing here just who u feel as a football man will suit chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the perfect buy would be Alexis Sanchez.}

27 Jun 2017 16:33:37
Do ya think baker or musonda have the quality for chelsea or a bit too early to judge il certianly be watching chalobah an baker at 5pm against germany to see how good they really are.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - quality wise they could well do in the future, difficult to be sure as they are unlikely to get a run of games to really get an idea.}

27 Jun 2017 16:34:01
Tammy also would be a man with a big future ahead hopefully at the bridge.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Abraham? He does look good.}

27 Jun 2017 16:43:33
In an ideal world wouldn't that be some signing eh.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - would be perfect fit alongside Hazard for me.}

27 Jun 2017 17:27:36
Absoloutely edd tammy abraham would suit our formatiom down to the ground tall lanky front man be can play wide use his long legs to stretch in behind defenders and his hold up play for the under 21s has been outstanding so far this tournament . i agree if we had sanchez and hazard wide with pedro or moses as ratations we would have an incredible line up d front man if its lukaku will be the down side do.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would have said the same of Traore as well!}

27 Jun 2017 17:49:09
Ya the fact he only got 8 goals last season in an average dutch league maybe conte didn't deem him good enough. who knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea, I don't look at stats as they can often be deceptive. I would assume Conte would know if the lad fits what he wants though, so I am not arguing, just saying it could be that Abraham might have the same problem.}

27 Jun 2017 18:31:27
Maybe edd we shall see how it unfolds my friend the england under21s aren't looking too impressive tonight germany having most of the possesion. be hard to see spain not winning this tournament with the maestro saul niguez in midfield running the show.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I was not overly impressed with the 20s either myself. I think they won in major part due to being much more physically advanced than the opposition, rather than being better players. They were outmuscling opposition, rather than outplaying them. At 21 level it is much more difficult to do that. It was the Freddy Adu syndrome for me, the 20s looked great because they were full grown adults against kids.}

27 Jun 2017 18:42:39
Ya maybe so lewis baker doesn't look like he's anywere good enough for chelsea yet hasn't kicked a ball all game bairly. will hughes has been decent as was gray before he came off the defense has been all over the place pickford looks solid tammy doing ok but over all they look leggy and are being completely dominated they should look to put mawson or someone bigger on that big lad who got the second goal he's outmuscling holgate.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 21:27:57
Ed 001 Who would be the ideal cf fit for you for chelsea know you said sanchez on the other wing right? Or sanchez through the middle and the lad from fiorentina on the right bernadschi not sure how you spell it would love chelsea to be brave enough and play musonda on one wing abraham as back up cf did like kennedy the other year but think he's died a death unfortunately.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - to be honest, I think being brave and playing some of the youth would actually help get results. They often play out of their skin to make an impression. The ideal cf for me, imo, is Morata, because he is decent wide as well, so you can play an interchanging front 3 then.}

28 Jun 2017 06:00:50
Thankyou for the reply mate great shout.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

28 Jun 2017 07:12:57
Ed001 sorry to jump in. But is the Morata to United deal all but done? Or do you think Chelsea could still go in for him? I suppose it all depends on Costa doesn't it?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is not done but I don't expect Chelsea to go for him.}

28 Jun 2017 09:06:36
Damn, thought he'd be a decent signing, with him being able to play on the wing too.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2017 08:58:14
Ed002, are Chelsea interested in anyone else apart from the Players that are in the news every day? Ie Bakayoko, Sandro, Lukaku etc. I've seen Vitolo being mentioned but not a lot more. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - How can I possibly answer that - I have no knowledge of what is in the news.}

27 Jun 2017 10:44:33
What I meant was that, is there anyone else Chelsea are looking at that hasn't been mentioned. Could of worded it a lot better.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have NO IDEA who has been mentione din the press. Move on.}

27 Jun 2017 07:22:34
So with Bertrand Traore having been officially sold to Lyons, and Ake seemingly going to Bournemouth, I have to say that I am pleased on their behalf. I have no doubt in my mind that they will finally get the game time they deserve, and I am sure that will flourish. That being said, I genuinely hope that we have included a buy-back clause in Traore's contract, and will do the same with Ake, as I have a sneaking suspicion, we will regret not doing it.

What do you guys think?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

27 Jun 2017 08:04:41
i think there is a buy back clause or first refusal on Troare sell.

Lyon have confirmed the signing of Bertrand Traore from Chelsea on a five-year contract.

The French club announced the signing on Twitter: "It is official: Bertrand Traore is Lyonnais! A transfer for €10m (£8.8m) and a five-year contract. "

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas also said Chelsea will earn 15 percent of any profit from a future sale of the player and the Premier League champions will have first refusal should Traore eventually move on.
