Further to the pato question asked earlier, his statement to me sounds like he intends to run down his contract with ac and become a free agent in 2014, that would impose less of a risk in signing him wouldn't it ?

andybutler {Ed018's Note - If you can sign him on a free, then yea}

I think we should use David Luiz as our CDM next to Ramires, this would be class. And you could maybe bring in a new younger CB to replace his place as a back-up CB

Believable5 Unbelievable7

I like the idea of luiz CDM as he makes too many rash tackles in the box. He can also pass great and has pace

Agree3 Disagree3

Or a right back

Agree0 Disagree4

Definitely for me if we were short i'd bang him higher up the pitch (Also because JT, Iva and Cahill are also class!)

Agree2 Disagree0

There's a reason Barcelona want him at centre back....guys class.

Tk

Agree2 Disagree0

No way, Luiz has the potential to become the best center back in the world.
roan

Agree6 Disagree0

David Luiz and Cahill will, post Terry, be our central defence partnership for the next five years plus - hopefully!!

Surewould

Agree4 Disagree0

Why do people bang on about Luiz in CDMA role? The guy was class latter part of season and will become a legend

Agree2 Disagree0

Already is a legend!

My choices for new players would be:
ST: Torres out,how long can we hope he regains form. He's had 18 months and had one maybe two good games. His replacement would be cavani.Quick,strong and good in the air.

RM: Hulk,great skill but a huge gamble at £35m plus. So again my choice would be nani or Valencia from utd. With them getting kagawa maybe one of them two would be available,also for a lot cheaper and expeirence in the premier league already.

CDM: my first choice would be Schweinsteiger But can't see bayern wanting to sell. A cheaper option would be de Jong from city but I would go with fellani.

RB: ivanovic done a great job but apparently doesn't want to play RB so Kyle walker would be my choice.Plays a lot like dani alves and still young and home grown.

Drogba,kalou,bosingwa all gone and possibly essien,merieles,malouda all joining them then were going to be a bit short on numbers so I would like to see a lot more if mcecharen,feruz,piazon used in the first team squad.

Ins:
Cavani. £35m
Nani or Valencia. £25m/£18m
Fellani or de Jong(as a last resort). £25m/£8m
Kyle walker £20m

Out:
Torres (simply just to close the gap on net spend) £30m
Merieles £10m
Malouda £5m
Ivanovic (would like him to stay,but can't see him playing CB)
£15m

My decisions obviously are not going to be the same as every Chelsea fan but taking into consideration FFP rules/home grown players and premier league experience these are my choices.

I'm sorry, I do not want Valencia or Nani at Chelsea Football Club, nor do I want Torres to leave, give the kid a proper chance!

PR!

Agree8 Disagree0

Keep Torres, no to Valencia and especially nani. You say hulk is a gamble but then you would pay 25m for fellaini?
Trout

Agree12 Disagree0

Give Torres a chance,are u having a laugh he has an average of about a goal every 5 games in 18 months. How much of a chance do u want to give. He tries too hard running into the channels instead of staying down the middle,playing off the last man. I don't see fellani as a gamble,he's young,tall,strong and would hold midfield so our attacking players can play with freedom. He's also from Belgium which we have a strong group of players from,which can only help them settle in.He can also be used in set pieces with his height and if we are chasing the game he has done a good job for everton as a target man. Regarding hulk I would like to see him but I don't think he will play for the team,will he chase back and help defend. I don't think so.

NWBLUE

Agree1 Disagree5

Fellaini is proven in the prem and would cost less ...

Agree1 Disagree1

NWBLUE your an person tores had no service even cavani wont score without service BLUEBOY1

Agree4 Disagree0

Take that number you quoted for cavani and multiply it by 2.

Tk

Agree1 Disagree4

BLUEBOY1 I would rather start again with cavani than be frustrated all season with Torres. Are you saying you would be happy for him to carry on how he has. Cavani has similar qualitys as drogba and I'm sure he'd be more usefull. If we keep Torres I will support him all the way but it's a matter of time before he goes on the scrap heap with Sutton,casarahgi,mutu,shevchenko.

NWBLUE

Agree1 Disagree1

Cavani has a price tag of around 70million euros

Agree0 Disagree4

A lot of cavanis goals are from assists just like Torres is he's got strength but does not score goals out of nothing lik drogba did time and time again BLUEBOY1

Possession Won Back Per Game Tackles Per Foul

Lampard 2.6 2.3
Mikel 3.1 1.3
Meireles 3.5 1.1
Romeu 4.4 2.5

In the UEFA Champions League, Romeu's possession won back per game average jumps to 9.3

interesting stats

cali

Believable2 Unbelievable0

And compared to lampard merieles and mikel how many champions league games did romeu play? Im not puting a down on him hes a great young player
Carefree

Agree1 Disagree0

4.4 n 2.5 weather he only played one game. Is still quite a bit higher

Agree2 Disagree2

But the other 3 would have been spread out over all there games in 1 individual game they could have scored more ,ita an average?
Carefree

Agree1 Disagree0

Against barca and Munich we won back more balls than anything else cuz it's all we did.

27 Jun 2012 19:15:23
Is there any plans to bring in a new ball winning midfielder?

Etienne capoue has been solid for Toulouse for the 3 seasons and at 23 (24 next month) he looks like he could be a good future purchase.

Yann M'vila also looks accomplished but seems to have put teams off with a recent bust up

Fellaini has been a "target" for years and nothing has come of it yet

Lars bender also looks like a good and he is only 23

Javi Martinez would be a capture but he looks like he is off to man city

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Oriol Romeu, John obi Mikel, raul meireles, Michael Essien? We don't need anyone jez

Any interest of Labyad of PSV? Cheers Ed.

Hey ED, it's not an issue if you don't but I saw you list on the man united rumours website all the players they have been interested in recently. So is it possible you could do it for Chelsea so we can see some of the players we are interested in that are talked about less frequently and perhaps not at all? Cheers for your time {Ed002's Note - If time allows - remind me in tomorrow.}

Giroud saying turned down Chelsea to join arsenal
Pity like the look of him. The signings of hazard and Marin shows intent hope the rest of the signings live up to that.
I think Vdw will be the RB (but would prefer Azpililicueta )plus
Another winger, a striker and maybe a central midfielder

Now England out of the Euros we can all look forward to the JT trial. Should keep us all amused for a few weeks until the season starts. Anyone taking bets on the length of the ban? {Ed002's Note - You seem to misunderstand the powers of the court system. They are not going to be banning a footballer. Any ban would be the result of a separate charge being made by the FA and the result of a disciplinary hearing.}

the bitter ,jealous losers who could not bear to watch us win the Champions League are now comparing us to every team which plays defensively and losses in Euros.
First Greece(I mean come on Greece really,paranoid)
Second France(their first team player Malouda was not even in the substitutes in most of our matches)
Third England(full of pool and man u bribe too much players..need i say more! )
Wonder who they will compare us to next season when we will again win the CL(hmm..may be the sunday league teams).

roan

Believable4 Unbelievable0

As you said Roan thay are "bitter jealous Losers", so I can't be bothered by what they say. It makes me feel so happy that we crushed all our haters last season and all of them are coming out to whine like toddlers ,made the win even sweeter, so let them talk all they want the bottom line is....... WE ARE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE.

ELI

Agree4 Disagree0

This is how hypocritical those losers can be:
When Real Madrid buys players for 80 m,60m etc,those people and pundits say that wow! great buy ,they will be the best team this year and win everything etc.If Chelsea or Man city buy players for half the price and win it is mafia,oil money that won them the trophy,it is fate,lucky etc.
This pisses me off ;I know that I should not be bothered, but the criticism thrown at us is really ridiculous .Give credit were credit is due,we did not cheat and win; we won fair and square.Messi has not scored against us in 8 matches not because we were lucky, but because our strategies and players were that good.
roan

Agree4 Disagree0

Let them keep saying it Roan mate, so far I am yet to see any of these teams 'do a Chelsea'. Easier said than done me thinks

Ed correct me if im wrong just off the top of my head didnt we pay around £15m for meireles? To sell him
On for £8m 18months later in my view is stupid enless he can be used to lure cavani away from napoli i finl we should tell em to jog on ,i rated the bloke last season

Carefree {Ed002's Note - The money is irrelevant.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We paid around 8 mil for him.

ED002 Giroud today said that Chelsea did make him an offer to join them but he chose Arsenal as he felt they had more stability do you know of the interest we had in him? {Ed002's Note - There was an approach to his agent but this is not uncommon.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jun 2012 21:24:15
Hey Ed is it too far fetched to belive signing A big name Besides the positions we already no players will be brought in for i.e Striker Rb and Hulk, besides these coudl there be a big player commign in should things go our way ? {Ed002's Note - The term "big" is subjective.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jun 2012 19:42:17

26 Jun 2012 19:22:50
Hi,ed
is this possible chelsea swap raul merieles plus offer some cash to bring out cavani here.i always believe cavani is one of the best striker in the world & cavani & torres combo can be lethal alongside hazard,mata,marin & may be hulk. {Ed002's Note - PLayer exchanges are not too common - I would not link the two.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Some cash??
Ur club would probably have to stump up more than 25 million + raul if u want cavani. Why would he want to join u though? Unstable club just like Giroud said. Plus Uruguayans r known for loving football, not money.
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - The price of Cavani is significantly higher than that.}

Agree0 Disagree4

Unstable club that just won the champions league.

Blue25

Agree6 Disagree0

You know "Indian Buzzer" has a point we were so unstable last season and in the process we won the Champions league and the FA cup. Just imagine what we could achieve when we are stable....... How awesome are we.

ELI

Agree4 Disagree0

U honestly think ur club is gonna get past the FFP rules? Chelsea, along with fulham r debt ridden, whose gonna make up for that? Just spending big money every time wont guarantee u success.
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - You clearly don't understand the FFP Rules and no nothing of the finances at Chelsea. By all means attempt banter on other clubs pages but try to avoid the embarrassment associated with uninformed posts. You will end up as a laughing stock.}
