If the Higuain to Milan happens. Who's else are we looking at up front? who would be on that shortlist, Icardi expensive lewandowski not a Sarri type I imagine, Werner? Ready for step up in leagues., didn't look great at World Cup, who would people look to?

If that happens then it's likely that we'll stick with what we have. Although I think Martial playing through the middle could be good.

Having to go through another year of Morata upfront wouldn't be soo bad if he didn't want to leave. Add that to him being a confidence player, if he goes through another goal scoring drought this season i heavily doubt he'll be able to find any sort of form again.

Is no one else of the opinion that Michy deserves his chance to show what he's capable of? He's always scored goals for Marseille, Belgium and showed how good he is at Dortmund! Not to mention his record is pretty damn good for us. Conte clearly had something against him and it wouldn't surprise me if it was personal as it was with so many of our players when it came to Conte. Play the Batman and he'll deliver.

I think Batshuayi would thrive in the new system, and could ultimately overtake Morata as first choice striker - if we stick with what we have.

We're the only club that has had Morata as their first choice striker and the first club to have Michy as a back up. Starting to wonder why this is. He deserves a chance far more than Morata does, he's had plenty and has failed to deliver. I'll back him whilst he's with us but I'm personally of the opinion he was a waste of a lot of money.

Hopefully batman starts and scores a brace. That would help push Morata onto the bench.

Michy would do wel with good wingers as his main play is his movement in box and around pen spot, Pulisic would be the one.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow, result not important but getting Sarri's Ideas across is, Barkley is one to watch, hoping he stays fit,

Looking forward to the match. Didn't get to watch the Perth game as I was travelling so will be nice to see a bit of Sarri ball.

Just wondering what are people's opinions on Pickford replacing Courtois? He had a fantastic World Cup and he was Everton's player and players player of the year although not saying much. He does have quality distribution.

I think he’s massively over hyped by The English, and I personally see him as no more than mediocre. Unfortunately, that’s the case with most of the keepers we’re linked to, so I’d only sign him because he’s home grown. Isn’t that The case with Schmeichel, too though? -is so, I’d prefer him, as he’d probably be much cheaper.
Really think we should go for Donnarumma.

I would rather see Butland or Schmiecheal between the sticks, half the price and just as capable as Pickford!
I'm shocked no one has mentioned Geronimo Rulli or that no one has been linked to him. Always looked like a very solid keeper to me .

Pickford is obviously a great goalkeeper. 24 years old and made some absolutely cracking saves at the World Cup. I hope Chelsea get him. If he’s England’s No.1 then he’s not that bad. Player of the year at Everton aswell. Can’t wait to get rid of that loud mouth Courtois!

Joe Hart was also England number one and he can’t even find a club to take him on loan. It’s not as if he’s declined suddenly. He’s still at the same level he’s always been. So being England’s number 1 means nothing.

Joe Hart isn’t the same level as he’s always been though has he? He was brilliant for City for a few years. Bad example really.

Donnarumma is massively overrated IMO. He had one good season and he got over hyped.

Think it's unfair to call Pickford overhyped. He had a wonderful season at Sunderland, a great debut season at Everton where the fans love him and was awesome at the World Cup. He's going from strength to strength and would only improve at a club like ours and he would thrive playing Sarri style football.

You are right Fuser, I remember how pundits sang the praise Joe Hart before now but today its like he's lost. I guess Pickford's price tag will determine if he would be a worthy investment (and we know he will be expensive) . IMO For the price that he would command- it'll be too much a risky investment. I prefer Chelsea go for Schmeichel if they are targeting any EPL goalkeeper.

Pickford is overhyped, he is nowhere near as good as what is made of him. In the world cup he got plaudits for what. playing against Tunisia, Panama, Belgium Reserves, Columbia and Sweden. We need a top class keeper at a club like Chelsea. 60 mil for Pickford is stupid, why not Alison who is head and shoulders above.

Tbh, his not the only English player to get the over hyped plaudits. It's common here, it was done with Joe Hart, Andreas Townsend, Lennon, Alli, etc etc. The pressure and hype melts these players.

I wouldn’t say Joe Hart was anything bar average his entire career. He’s perhaps a little below average now but I wouldn’t say he’s noticeably declined in recent years.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2018 08:59:40
Also think that's unfair on Hart. He made some top saves for City when they won the league in 2012 and was decent for a few years around then. I think he got a little big headed and that's when his performances dropped.

Just a question. why have we not looked at Max Meyer. surely he can be developed further and available on a free I think?

Based on what I've read elsewhere his wage demands are obscene and that's why he's been unable to find a club so far. Unless he drops his demands he won't be signing for anyone.

I'm not getting this from any sources, and I've not read it anywhere - it's just a theory/ worry.

I've got a horrible feeling that signing Milinkovic-Savic will only happen if Kante were to leave the club.

They are totally different types of players. SMS is more like Barkley type of player.

I think jorginho is the kante replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2018 10:40:50
I hope we don’t sell him, Jorghino him and Barkley will be class for us this season.

27 Jul 2018 10:46:43
I don’t think Kante is going anywhere. let’s assume for a moment that Sarri is looking to play a similar system to what he used at Napoli, Kante is tailor made for the role that Allan played. He was effectively the link between Jorginho and Hamsik. with the way Kante developed under Conte, he could excel in my opinion.
