I am aware that Greizman is probably keen on a move to united, but come January would it be worth it to throw in a bid for him? With the worry Hazard will eventually move on to Madrid, I think the only worthy replacement would be Greizman. I'm also aware that we are put off by how he talks to the media, more hopeful thinking than anything. Who do you think could be a suitable replacement should hazard leave?

Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele and asensio would be my top targets over he next two summers to replace hazard if he left.

Bale.

Ed002 mentioned on the Man Utd page that if Hazard were to leave, then Chelsea would look to Dembele - whether he'd join Chelsea is another thing altogether IMO.

28 Jul 2017 12:21:25
This isn't just because Ed commented that we might look to Dembele as a replacement if Hazard leaves. But I've been a fan of Ousmane since his last year at Rennes, and he'd be my number 1 target if we want a an attacker. Exceptional player that one, and I rate him higher than Mbappe.

Ousmane Dembele would be my choice ahead of anyone with the exception of Mbappe.

Earlier ed mentioned Douglas Costa (that was in June) .
My choice would be Bale or Griezmann.

Raver might be overreacting regarding Conte's comments on them. But I do wonder why he decided to make those comments.
Usually Conte doesn't really give the press much to work with. He mainly speaks of working hard, having dedication to the cause and standard stuff like that. But suddenly he decides to invite a couple of reporters and comments on Spurs, Alli and Kane? What was he trying to accomplish with that?

Care to wager a guess on his reasons for doing it, Eds?

Been a while since I've posted!

But, from what I saw, some of the comments were taken out of context. Conte was largely complementary about Spurs, regarding their spending and their achievements with their younger players. There was just a small segment of the interview that he made a comment regarding their ambition.

I'm not saying he was taking digs at Spurs. Not at all. But I just wonder what made him decide to comment on other clubs and other clubs' players now, after not doing so for basically his whole time at Chelsea up till now.
It's strange.

Ah fair enough Jacks. To be fair he has held himself with utter class since he's arrived! I won't begrudge him this one! 😉.

The main point Conte was making is spot on. Other than the average Spurs supporter, Spurs management don't have similar expectations as Chelsea.
Spurs are a good side who have performed well over the last two years but still won nothing.
This year will be the toughest prem to win for years and I don't think Spurs will finish in top four.

27 Jul 2017 12:52:14
Conte, mind your own business about spurs, at least we are a real club who gives youngsters a chance and don't have to buy the league every year. You have spent over 200 million so far so well done on keeping this club plastic. I would have loved to see Conte at Chelsea in the 60s, 70s, 80s when they were utter crap and were in division 2.

Great post. When we won league and even back when drogba scored that penalty to win the champions league I couldn't get excited, I just though wish we could balance our books and play some youth players.

You worry about applying the pressure we will worry about trophies and success.

You give youngsters a chance but don't win anything and unfortunately the game of football is about winning something. We were in Div 2 for one season in the 60's, went down in 1979 until coming back up in 1983-4 season, down in 1987 and straight back and of course the rest is history in the Premiership, FA Cup and so on. Now of course your league memories end in 1960-61 and I am not sure your so called young talent have registered anything since 1989-90. I think it is envy coming out as Mr Levy has lost his cheque book again.

Raver, might want to watch/ read the full interview before coming to the Chelsea page to abuse. Thanks.

Where's you're champions league raver? You keep developing the youngsters so that when they're good enough an elite club like Chelsea will buy them 😎.

Chelsea should just take Kane and Alli of their hands so they can promote more youth while Chelsea make do with more championships.

We spend a decent amount (not 200m though, not even close), but we also sell for a decent amount. Net spend is what counts, and our net spend really isn't that high compared to other top clubs.

Still got the Subaru raver? . Love your posts makes it all the more entertaining, keep up the good work. Always had a soft spot for spuds, my old man used to go about Gilzean and Greaves back in the day, he loved the team.

It's not important to justify our spending to Spurs supporters but my guess is that if you take into account the Oscar fee plus the players already sold and about to be sold in this window, Chelsea will be one of the lowest Nett spenders in the premier league.
The club is being managed in a very effective and professional way. We have a new stadium to pay for so its all very reasonable.

Any update on Alex Sandro ed002?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - No.}

27 Jul 2017 04:53:09
You ought to know by his responses that Ed 002 is not going to update you every day on status. He said Chelsea are interested and they will not go above a certain price. The representative from Chelsea has not gone back since the last time he was there. It's not like Ed is there for negotiations. he told you what he knows, so leave it at that.

Take it easy Dave. He asked a simple question which Ed002 answered.

26 Jul 2017 21:09:40
Ed002, recently you've stated that Bakayoko is Matic' replacement. Assuming Matic leaves, who are the club targeting to replace Chalobah in the squad?
Or could Pasalic and Baker get a chance in the first team this season?

Thanks a million for coming back to us :-P.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - It is not really like that.}

27 Jul 2017 04:56:19
I could crush these requests all day. Stop reading into things. Stop wasting Ed's time.

27 Jul 2017 09:27:49
You think the club will go into the season with only 3 CMs willingly? Kudos to you if you're right, buddy, because that'd be the club committing footballing suicide.

Agree3 Disagree1

27 Jul 2017 13:38:43
Pretty sure that's not what he meant. I think he has said many times not to look at all transfer activity as a 1-for-1 in/ out situation, and as he always says, the club has its targets but won't buy just for the sake of buying.

Agree2 Disagree2

27 Jul 2017 18:15:05
Ed002 has stated in the past though that Bakayoko is a Matic replacement, so I'm not making that part up. And I have to think that we need at least 4 CMs. So surely the club are looking to bring another 1 in?
